James and Lila Miller
James and Lila Miller made the lead gift to fund the Miller Gymnasium in 1977. James Miller served on the George Fox Board of Trustees from 1974-1986 and then became an honorary trustee until his death in 2006. The couple gave millions of dollars to the university over more than three decades. Their gifts included funding for the Edward Stevens Center, the gymnasium, the Hoover Academic Building remodel, and several scholarship funds.
