Distribution of Derivational Suffixes with the Meaning of Agent from Pleteršnik\u27s Dictionary from A to O
Full text linkDiplomsko delo z naslovom Obrazilna distribucija izpeljank s pomenom vršilca dejanja iz Pleteršnikovega slovarja od A do O prinaša besedotvorno analizo izpeljank s pomenom vršilca dejanja iz prve knjige (A—O) slovensko-nemškega slovarja. Namen je bil omenjene izpeljanke izpisati, jim določiti obrazila, le-ta tudi analizirati in s tem določiti njihovo rodnost. Tema je bila aktualizirana s primerjavo obrazil sodobnega slovenskega jezika. Izpisane izpeljanke so bile razvrščene po abecednem redu in spolu. Med zbranimi izpeljankami s pomenom vršilca dejanja so se na prvih treh mestih glede na število pojavitev znašle izpeljanke moškega spola, modificirane izpeljanke ženskega spola, t. i. feminativi, in izpeljanke srednjega spola. Najbolj rodna so prav moškospolska obrazila, in sicer -(av)ec, -ač in -nik. Izpeljanke se vse do danes tvorijo s podobnimi obrazili, saj v razvoju od 19. do 20. stoletja (ko je izšel SSKJ) ni opaziti večjih sprememb.The diploma thesis entitled Distribution of Derivational Suffixes with the Meaning of Agent in Pleteršnik\u27s Dictionary from A to O brings word formational analysis of derivatives with the meaning of an agent from the first book (from A to O) of the Slovene-German Dictionary. The purpose was to write out the above mentioned derivatives, set their inflections and through analysis determine their fertility. The theme was actualized with a comparison to the inflections of the modern Slovene language. Derivatives that were written out are classified in an alphabethical order and in accordance to inflections at a specific gender. Amongst the assembled derivatives with the meaning of the agent were in the first three places, according to the number of occurances, derivations of male gender, modified derivations of female gender and derivations of neuter gender. The most fertile are male gender inflections -(av)ec, -ač and -nik. Until present, derivatives have been formed with similar inflections, since no significant changes occured in the developement from the 19th to the 20th century (when the SSKJ was published)
On the Jager-Kaul theorem concerning harmonic maps
Full text linkIn 1983, Jager and Kaul proved that the equator map u*(x) = (x/\x\,0) : B-n --> S-n is unstable for 3 less than or equal to n less than or equal to 6 and a minimizer for the energy functional E(u, B-n) = integral B-n \del u\(2) dx in the class H-1,H-2(B-n, S-n) with u = u* on partial derivative B-n when n greater than or equal to 7. In this paper, we give a new and elementary proof of this Jager-Kaul result. We also generalize the Jager-Kaul result to the case of p-harmonic maps
