No full textA proposal that could be defined as “fractal ethnography” is in the reviewed book, a methodological and theoretical experiment to account for a region whose point of reference is Frontera Comalapa, Chiapas. The author, originally from that place, resorts to the ethnographic record and to different sources from which he does not exclude those that are characteristic of these times. He elaborates encapsulated descriptions, which together give the possibility of thinking about that zone of the Mexico-Guatemala border. Divided into four parts, the book, which does not have a temporal sequence and in which it is committed to the recording of speech, is also an existential reflection open to several questions whose answer is that of the fragments with which its author, Carlos Gutiérrez Alfonzo, out of amazement, has formed it.Una propuesta que podría definirse como “etnografía fractal” está en el libro reseñado, un experimento metodológico y teórico para dar cuenta de una región cuyo punto de referencia es Frontera Comalapa, Chiapas. El autor, originario de ese lugar recurre al registro etnográfico y a diferentes fuentes de las que no excluye las que son características de estos tiempos. Elabora descripciones encapsuladas, que unidas dan la posibilidad de pensar sobre esa zona de la frontera México-Guatemala. No full textEste trabajo se refiere a las alternativas del proceso político e institucional de delimitación de las jurisdicciones correspondientes a las ciudades de Asunción y Buenos Aires durante la etapa colonial y a la posterior determinación del límite internacional, ya entre los estados soberanos de Paraguay y Argentina, hasta 1876. Finalmente se describe brevemente el desarrollo moderno de los territorios de frontera, a ambos lados del límite fluvial Alto Paraná - Paraguay, en los dos países. </p
Gobernanza multifiduciaria de stakeholders: análisis comparado de la eficiencia de bancos y cajas de ahorros
No full textProbably, Spanish savings banks are the most significant worldwide multistakeholders
entities, not only because of their mission, but also in their governance. The stakeholder
multifiduciary theory, establishes at least theoretically what the saving banks has been a
reality for more than a century. Then, saving banks become “a laboratory case” to analyze the
viability and eligibility of governance that is shared by all stakeholders of the organization.
Our hypothesis is that multistakeholder governance as well as stakeholder orientation
generates a different strategic approach, not focused on the benefits. Therefore, the
multifiduciary governance may perfectly be inefficient in relation to economic and financial
indicators relating to the shareholders of an entity. However, these entities should be more
efficient if has been taken into account indicators related to the generation of social value. To
compare the relative efficiency we have used the population of Spanish traditional and saving
banks and the 2009 data, using the technique of Data Envelopment Analysis in order to
compare the economic, social and global efficiency of both types of entities. The results
indicate a significant differentiation between these two groups of financial institutions in
relation to social and economic efficiency, but it is not happen when using the global efficiency –economic plus social-. So, we can conclude that the efficiency in the management

De la frontera a la condición cosmopolita: La antropología más allá del multiculturalismo
No full textIn this article the author gives account of a large investigation he developed these last years about displacements and borders in Africa, Middle East and Europe with people considered as foreigners. In this framework, the cosmopolitan condition is referred as the social experience lived in borders' situations. Based on his and other researchers' investigations, the author develops the debate on globalization, anthropology today and the cosmopolitics beyond identity and multiculturalism.En este artículo se parte de una reflexión desarrollada durante varios años en torno a los desplazamientos y a las fronteras; basada en investigaciones de campo realizadas en África, el Cercano Oriente y Europa, con personas consideradas como extranjeras. Gracias a dichas investigaciones -complementadas por los trabajos de otros investigadores, esencialmente francófonos, en las mismas zonas- podemos definir la condición cosmopolita como la experiencia vivida en las situaciones de frontera. Los datos de la investigación permiten retomar los debates sobre la globalización y llevan al autor a repensar la antropología y la cosmopolítica más allá de la cuestión identitaria y del multiculturalismo
Museo Histórico Ciudad Juárez: Chihuahua
No full textEl edificio de la ex aduana, hoy Museo Histórico de Ciudad Juárez, junto con la Misión de Guadalupe localizada a dos cuadras hacia el poniente del museo son los únicos monumentos arquitectónicos coloniales que hay en esta expansiva y pragmática frontera de nuestro país, en donde, lamentablemente, se ha subestimado, en no pocas ocasiones, la importancia del patrimonio cultural. Se puede decir que la ex aduana es un edificio singular en el contexto arquitectónico del Centro Histórico de Ciudad Juárez, no sólo por su factura de estilo híbrido, que le imprimeun toque afrancesado muy en boga en el siglo XlX, sino también por el ladrillo rojo que contrasta agradablemente con el color claro de la cantera, que remata ornamentalmente vanos, cornisas y esquinas del edificio. La construcción de la Aduana Fronteriza se comenzó en 1885, bajo el proyecto del ingeniero Manuel Garfias; originalmente el inmueble tenía apariencia austera y patio central abierto, adecuado al intenso movimiento que ya en aquel entonces se daba en esta frontera. La inauguración oficial fue el 1º de septiembre de 1889. Tiempo después, se decidió que el vetusto edificio fuera sede del Museo Histórico de Ciudad Juárez.</p

No full textThe Majorcan novelist and journalist Guillem Frontera (1945) belongs to the numerous island storytellers who started in the literary world at the end of the 1960’s and who were grouped under the label of the so-called “Generation of the Seventies”. A fruitful author from his beginnings, faithful to committed literature, Frontera has always stood out for reflecting in his work the socio-economic and ethical transformations experienced by the various Majorcan social classes due to the tourist boom.However, his last published novel, Un cor massa madur (1993), is a much more personal and suggestive narrative where the author shows a growing interest in more universal themes such as human relationships, the inability to communicate, the recovery of the past, etc., all immersed in the contemporary Majorcan microcosm. Here, the writer shows the evolution of social changes from a perspective that no longer pretends to be denunciatory or vindictive but subjective, assuming the weaknesses, aspirations and limitations of the human being, embodied, among others, by the novelist waiting for the inspiration to write the novel that has been dragging in his mind since his youth.In this article, a thematic systematization of the novelistic corpus of Frontera is undertakenand special light is shed on Un cor massa madur, a work that could qualify as one of the best Majorcan novels of the late 20th century
