No full textMaria Baliszewska is an ethnomusicologist and a journalist. She has worked for the Polish Radio since 1973. She is the author of many programs on folk themes and recordings of Polish musical folklore, as well as studio and festival recordings. She was the founder and manager of the Radiowe Centrum Kultury Ludowej (Radio Folk Culture Center; 1994–2007), the coordinator of the European Radio Union for traditional and folk music (1998–2009), the judge for traditional music festivals and parades (including the National Festival of Folk Bands and Singers in Kazimierz and the International Competition of Folk Bands and Singers in Zakopane). In 1998, she initiated the Folk Festival of Polish Radio Nowa Tradycja. She is author of many albums in the Muzyka Źródeł series published by the Polish Radio, as well as other albums, incl. Pod Tatrami na dolinie (Polskie Radio, Accord, PolyGram 1996), Pologne. Instruments Populaires (Radio France 1996), Welcome Europe 2004. New European Soundscapes (EBU, Polskie Radio 2004). She is a member of the Polish Composers Union and the Scientific Council of the Folk Artists Association. She was honored, among others, with the Golden Microphone (1993), the medal of Zygmunt Gloger (2003), the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Award (2007) and the Oskar Kolberg Award (2014).MARIA BALISZEWSKA etnomuzykolożka i dziennikarka. No full textDionizjusz Czubala is one of the most important contemporary Polish folklorists; his research pertains to the occupational folklore of potters and various forms of oral narratives. Among his works of particular value are his field studies concerning urban legends conducted in Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Mongolia, reports from which were published in the “FOAFtale News” bulletin, and research on memoirs connected with the Holocaust, published in the book O tym nie wolno mówić... Zagłada Żydów w opowieściach wspomnieniowych ze zbiorów Dionizjusza Czubali, 2019 (We Are Not Allowed to Speak about It… The Extermination of the Jews in Memoirs from the Collection of Dionizjusz Czubala). Since the 1980s, he and his wife Małgorzata have been conducting ethnographic research, recording and filming rural musicians and singing performances from Poland, Ukraine and Belarus. In 2012, they set up the Muzyka Odnaleziona foundation, which makes their huge archival collections available on CDs as well as on the website www.muzykaodnaleziona.pl and on a YouTube channel. No full textJacek Jackowski is a musician and ethnomusicologist, and the head of the Phonographic Collection at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He specializes in the conservation, digitization and archiving of old sound recordings. He is a field researcher and author of many academic articles on traditional, Catholic and folk religious culture associated with musical behaviours. He also published numerous articles and books on early folk music recordings and their digitization (Zachować dawne nagrania, Warszawa 2014; Polska muzyka tradycyjna – dziedzictwo fonograficzne, t. 1, Warszawa 2017; t. 2, Warszawa 2019), as well as 17 CD albums of folk songs and music from Kashubia, Kurpie, Podhale, Łowicz, Orava, South Wielkopolska and many other regions of Poland. Since 2014 he has been managing the Etnofon project, the goal of which is to create, develop and maintain a central digital repository of documentary phonographic and film recordings capturing Polish traditional songs and music as well as folk dance

No full textOxyurella Dybowski & Grochowski, 1894 Parthenogenetic female short description. Body low oval (Fig. 15 I), head and valves without a keel. Valves oblique. Posteroventral angle of valves without denticles. Rostrum short. Three main head pores (Fig. 15 J) without a connection between them; lateral head pores minute. Labral keel wide, with a rounded apex, without clusters of setulae on posterior margin. Postabdomen (Fig. 15 K) elongated, narrowing distally in postanal portion, with protruding rounded distal angle; length about 3.5–4 height. Preanal and postanal angles weakly defined. Postanal denticles long and narrow, distalmost denticle significantly thicker and longer than others, its length over 2 widths the postabdominal claw base (Fig. 15 L). Postanal lateral groups of setulae with distalmost seta longer than others; in distalmost groups, length of setulae less than width of postabdominal claw base; unlike in most Aloninae, distalmost group of setulae located at significant distance from the end of postabdomen. Postabdominal claw moderately long, almost straight, with long basal spine. Antennule without lateral aesthetascs, all terminal aesthetascs of similar length. Antennal seta without basal peg. Antenna with thin seta on basal segment of endopodite. Spine on basal segment of exopodite of similar length than middle segment. Spines on apical segments longer than apical segments. IDL of limb I with three setae (Fig. 15 M), seta 1 short, setae 2–3 thin, armed with thin setulae. Single species, Oxyurella singalensis (Daday, 1898) (Fig. 15 I–M). Length of adult 0.55–0.85 mm. Common species, found in lakes, ponds, reservoirs, slow rivers and paddy fields. Littoral species, associated with vegetation. Indo-Malaysian species.
