Dynamique culturelle en milieu scolaire. Une étude diachronique de manuels de l'école élémentaire française
Pierre Dandurand : Kulturelle Dynamik im schulischen Milieu. Eine diachronische Studie der Schulbücher in der französischen Grundschule.
Nach einer Fragestellung zum Konservatismus und Dynamismus der schulischen Einrichtungen, erläutert der Verfasser einen Aspekt der kulturellen Dynamik in der französischen Grundschule. Dazu benutzt er eine Auswahl von Lesebüchern, wie sie im Anfang der 30iger und 60iger Jahre verwendet wurden. Die Untersuchung zeigt, dass der Inhalt der Lesebücher sich bedeutend geandert hat: einerseits wird der Moralunterricht schwächer und nimmt weniger prose litische Formen an; andererseits wird den Kindern eine soziale Wirklichkeit gezeigt, die sich mehr auf den Rahmen der Primärgruppe beschränkt, wobei gleichzeitig die Bedeutung der Phantasie offensichtlich unterstrichen wird. Als Schlussfolgerung wird die Hypothese angeboten, wonach die dynamischen Aspekte der schulischen Einrichtungen die Aufrechterhaltung der konservativen Funktionen dieser Einrichtungen gestatten, ohne im geringsten mit ihrem Konservatismus im Widerspruch zu stehen.Pierre Dandurand : Культурный динамизм в школьной среде. После того как автор поставил вопрос о консерватизме и динамизме учебных заведений, он излагает один из аспектов культурной динамики во французской основной школе. Для этого он пользуется книгами для школьного чтения 30-ых и 60-ых годов в качестве образца. После анализа оказывается что в течение этого времени содержание учебников изменилось основным образом. С одной стороны преподавание морали стало более туманным и прозелитизм формулируется в менее настойчивой форме, с другой стороны детям преподается социальная реальность, стараясь ее более ограничить до рамок первоначальной группы, одновременно, отводя большее место воображению. В заключение предлагается гипотеза по которой динамический аспект школьных учреждений, далеко не находясь в противоречии с их консерватизмом, позволяет сохранить консервативные функции этих же учреждений.Pierre Dandurand : Cultural dynamics at school. The author examines the problem of conservatism and dynamics of school institutions, and then presents an aspect of the cultural dynamics of French primary school. He relies upon samples of some reading books of the 1930's and 60's. The analysis shows that throughout this period, the content of textbooks has suffered drastic changes: on one hand moral education becomes diffuse and less proselytic; on the other hand children are set in front of a social reality which is narrowed to the boundaries of the primary group while the field of imagination seems to be widened. Finally the author suggests that the dynamical aspects of school institutions far from being contradictory with their conservatism, enable the conservative functions of these institutions to be maintained.Pierre Dandurand : Dinámica cultural en el medio escolar. Después de plantear la cuestión del conservatismo y del dinamismo de las instituciones de enseñanza, expone el autor un aspecto de la dinámica cultural en la escuela elemental francesa. Рог eso utiliza como modelos libros de lectura que se empleaban a principios de los años de 1930 y 1960. Indica el análisis que durante ese periodo se modificó el contenido de los libros de modo importante; por una parte se hace difusa la enseñanza moral y se formula de modo menos proselítico; por otra parte se présenta a los niños una realidad social que propende a limitarse más a los cuadros del grupo primario, y al mismo tiempo parece crecer el lugar dado a lo imaginario. Como conclusión se hace la hipótesis que los aspectos dinámicos de las instituciones escolares, lejos de ser en contradicción con su conservatismo, permite el mantenimiento de las funciones conservadoras de esas instituciones.Dandurand Pierre. The Fragility of a Culture of Lawfulness
The concept of a culture of lawfulness is appealing for its aspirational and open-ended nature. However, the concept still has to prove itself as a concrete basis for action. The article argues that the practical value of that concept lies in its promise to create a fresh common narrative to support a broad range of human-rights inspired and democratically derived justice reforms. The authors reflect on what makes a culture of lawfulness possible, how it always remains fragile, and how one might recognize signs it is under attack. A culture of lawfulness is based on the genuine willingness of government officials and members of society to hold themselves and one another accountable to the law, which requires a certain level of trust and confidence in justice institutions and their ability to protect everyone from injustice and insecurity. The article emphasizes the role of justice reforms in sustaining such a culture. Law reform initiatives and the strengthening of justice institutions play a central role in fostering and shouldering a culture of lawfulness, particularly when such reforms are not limited to capacity building measures but also address the more fundamental need for greater fairness, accountability, transparency, and inclusiveness. What is a grave concern in many societies is the political failure to defend the rule of law and to proceed with the necessary justice reforms to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability. One of the most important tasks today is to consolidate the culture of lawfulness wherever it has taken root.Yvon Dandurand: [email protected] Jahn: [email protected] Dandurand is a criminologist, Professor Emeritus, School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, University of the Fraser Valley, as well as a Fellow and Senior Associate of the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy, a United Nations affiliated institute in Vancouver, BC (Canada). He specializes in comparative criminal law and criminal justice research and has been extensively involved in numerous justice reform and policy development projects in Canada, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. He is particularly interested in access to justice research, the justice reform process, the measurement of reform outcomes, and the practical relevance of international norms and standards.Jessica Jahn is a Researcher at the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy (Vancouver, BC, Canada). She is a graduate of the University of the Fraser Valley, at which she studied criminology and criminal justice.
