Safety is the most important factor for working under high voltage. In the company Unior, d. d., we manufacture coating insulated tools, which is tested 100 % safe for work. All tools are double coated, which implies even greater safety for user, since this way they figure out by themselves, when the tool is worn out. The thesis presents the technology for coating of tools used for working under high voltage, like the one we use in the company. In the theoretical part of the thesis we present the demands for coating of tools according to the standard SIST EN 60900:2012, the entire coating technology and tool testing procedures. In the practical part of the thesis we carry out an analysis of electro conductivity for different protection thicknesses

This paper tries to provide a new perspective on using scientific methodology in social sciences on the example of psychology. The paper proposes a new concept called the escape to methodology, which is defined as a strong methodological orientation of psychologists. Its implications and consequences on current development of psychology and education of future scientists are being analyzed. Feyerabend’s epistemological anarchism is considered as an alternative to the escape to methodology in psychology, being a possible criticism that will put it into perspective and move the whole discipline towards further development and advancement

Defective interaction between Pol2p and Dpb2p, subunits of DNA polymerase epsilon, contributes to a mutator phenotype in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Most of the prokaryotic and eukaryotic replicative polymerases are multi-subunit complexes. There are several examples indicating that noncatalytic subunits of DNA polymerases may function as fidelity factors during replication process. In this work, we have further investigated the role of Dpb2p, a noncatalytic subunit of DNA polymerase epsilon holoenzyme from Saccharomyces cerevisiae in controlling the level of spontaneous mutagenesis. The data presented indicate that impaired interaction between catalytic Pol2p subunit and Dpb2p is responsible for the observed mutator phenotype in S. cerevisiae strains carrying different mutated alleles of the DPB2 gene. We observed a significant correlation between the decreased level of interaction between different mutated forms of Dpb2p towards a wild-type form of Pol2p and the strength of mutator phenotype that they confer. We propose that structural integrity of the Pol epsilon holoenzyme is essential for genetic stability in S. cerevisiae cells

Nurses and technicians have been directly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, where their daily work has changed and become more difficult. An already psychologically and physically demanding job, has become even more challenging with far more negative consequences. It has been shown that during the pandemic, medical workers experience higher levels of stress, psychological and physical symptoms caused by stress, and increase the intention to leave the workplace. In this correlational study of Croatian nurses and technicians, we investigated whether fear of the coronavirus, burnout, job satisfaction and affective commitment to the profession predict the intention of medical workers to leave work during the pandemic and whether there are differences between workers who are directly or indirectly in contact with patients with coronavirus. All the mentioned predictors, except for the scale of fear of the coronavirus, proved to be significant in predicting the mentioned phenomenon, and by splitting the sample, no significant differences were found between the selected variables. The presented model indicates the importance of further examination of psychosocial predictors for the purpose of creating systematic assistance to medical workers during the coronavirus pandemic and systematically solving the loss of medical personnel

Professor Jan Flis began his collaboration with the Higher College of Teacher Training in 1951, and since 1960 he has become its full-time employee, which he remained until the end of his long teaching and academic career. One of the most important record of his research activity (especially in the area of teaching), is an extensive collection of his publications that can be found in the Library of the Institute of Geography of the Pedagogical University of Cracow, which the author compiled into the article. In the article, the author compiled 135 publications. They are divided into several thematic sections: geography teaching, college teaching, the physical geography of the world, regional geography of the world, physical geography of Poland, cartography and topography, reviews, translations, and others. Within those groups, the publications are presented in chronological order

Instructional Manuals of Boundary-Work: Psychology textbooks, student subjectivities, and disciplinary historiographies

    No full text
This article aims to provide an overview of the historiography of psychology textbooks. In the overview, I identify and describe in detail two strands of writing histories of introductory textbooks of psychology and juxtapose them to provide an integrated historiography of textbooks in psychology. One strand is developed by teachers of psychology—first as a general approach for investigating textbooks in a pedagogical setting, and then later upgraded into a full history of psychology textbooks in America. The other strand follows a more familiar perspective of historians of science and historians of psychology who build on various post-Kuhnian and post-Foucauldian perspectives on textbooks. I make an argument for integrating these two views for a more comprehensive historiography of textbooks in psychology, recasting textbooks as objects of research and sources that are interesting sui generis for historians of psychology in their investigations

Shambhala and Tadeusz Miciński. In the circle of esoteric sacred geography and politics of the early 20th century

    No full text
Tadeusz Miciński, called a Young Poland „magician” and „worshipper of mysteries,” is one of those writers of the turn of the 20th century who were strongly inspired by various esoteric traditions. The author of this article traces references in his work to the myth of Shambhala/Agarttha, a Tibetan legendary land that theosophists popularized in the late 19th century. This motif of esoteric sacred geography became a key generator of Micinski’s imagination in the novel Nietota. The Secret Book of the Tatra Mountains (1910). In the work, the writer made a kind of polonization of the myth of Shambhala, fusing it with themes from the Romantic heritage and the legend of knights sleeping in the Tatra Mountains. In the opinion of the author of the text, this procedure should be associated with Miciński’s awareness that the myth of the mysterious kingdom, which has its origin in Hindu-Buddhist mythology, was becoming an instrument of the imperial policy of the superpowers, including Russia, at the beginning of the 20th century. The dilemmas associated with the emergence of an imagined powerful Eurasian state, linking East and West, implementing the tenets of synarchy, the ideal image of which was to be the mystical Shambhala/Agarttha, the writer expressed in his earlier drama, Kniaź Patiomkin (1906).ELŻBIETA FLIS-CZERNIAK – profesor uczelni w Katedrze Historii Literatury Polskiej w Instytucie Językoznawstwa i Literaturoznawstwa UMCS.
