ALLELOPATHIC EFFECT AND CONTROL OF CHINESE WEDELIA (Sphagneticola calendulacea)

was conducted during November 2022 to February 2023 at Sher-E-Bangla Agricultural
University, Bangladesh. Experimental results used evaluated in germination percentage and
germination inhibition of different crops and to identify how other crops were affected by this
weed. Sphagneticola calendulacea was identified using the visual method, and quadrates were
used to determine the total biomass and relative biomass of the weeds. The infestation density of
Sphagneticola calendulacea were found along roadsides, in fallow land, grasslands, and in some
crop fields. The highest abundance of Sphagneticola calendulacea occurred at fallow land. The
allelopathic activity of Sphagneticola calendulacea was examined against the seed growth of
seventeen crop species including major cereals, pulses, oilseeds, weed seed, and vegetables. 5%
aqueous leaf extract and 5% aquas leaf extract with methanol was used to investigate the
allelopathic activity of Sphagneticola calendulacea to seeds and post-germinated seeds (both
radicle and plumule are emerged) of test species. The following three parameters were used in
allelopathic screening methodologies (a) germination percentage (%), (b) radicle length (cm),
and (c) plumule length (cm). Results of Petri dishes treated with methanolic extract or leaf
extract shown a complete failure of germination (0%) due to the treatment in rice, jute, cowpea,
black eyed pea, pea and chickpea. Among the cereals, rice had the greatest reduction in radicle
and plumule length (100%) and maize had the lowest (61% and 53%, respectively) compared to
the respective control with methanol extract. Whereas, the leaf extract increase growth of radicle
and plumule in both rice and wheat and highly decrease in maize and slightly in jute. For
controlling this weed Filder (2,4,D-Amine) highly reduce (48%) the total biomass of the
Sphagneticola calendulacea than Sunup 480 SL (glyphoset) and Weednil 5EC (Quizaloph-PEthyle)
7% and 8%, respectively. Therefore, an integrated management approach is urgently
needed to control the spread of this invasive weed
Detection of Angina Pectoris Using ECG Signals

doctor can provide the patient proper medication to cure. Sometimes from a long ECG data it
is tiresome to calculate and differentiate the normal and angina pectoris affected ECG peak to
decide about the condition of the patient. In addition, the remote areas of lower and midlower
income countries often face lack of experienced doctors or highly cost devices like ecocardiogram,
MRI to detect angina. In these regions, automatic identification of ECG features
can be a fruitful solution. Therefore, only way is computerized and efficient ECG analyzing
algorithm development that can be able to detect angina pectoris. In this work, an efficient
algorithm is developed to detect angina pectoris from ECG signal. This algorithm consists of
several steps to take decision on ECG signal. First of all this algorithm removes baseline
wandering from ECG signal by baseline wandering path finding algorithm. After that it
removes other noises from ECG signal by Gaussian weighted moving average window
method. In this consequence, QRS complex was detected by very well-known method First
and Second Derivative (FS2) algorithm and gradually other important points like S, J, K, and
T were detected by possible range maxima-minima criterion. Besides, the isoelectric line of
ECG signal is estimated and eventually the statistical features of J-K points of normal and
abnormal ECG peaks are compared with that isoelectric line by the algorithm, Finally, this
algorithm takes the decision whether the patient is suffering from angina or not. This
algorithm is applied on MIT arrhythmia Database to detect angina pectoris. From the result
provided by this algorithm, we have found 94% (average) accuracy which is noticeable. In
addition with that the sensitivity and specificity of our proposed algorithm have also been
calculated which are found 91% and 89%, respectively. Since the previous work is based on
the single feature, it may prove inappropriate for all the time. Therefore with the help of
multiple features machine learning based approach k-nearest neighbor (kNN) method has
been deployed in this research work to make it more accurate and acceptable. Although kNN
based prediction method also provide almost similar results found by the previous
methodologies. Therefore our proposed approach for angina pectoris detection has been
testified by both statistical and kNN based method. It is expected that the proposed algorithm

Theory of single potential step absorbance transient at an optically transparent rough and finite fractal electrode: EC′ mechanism
A theoretical model for single potential step absorbance transient has been developed for the pseudo first-order catalytic coupled mechanism (EC′) at a rough optically transparent electrode (OTE). A second-order perturbation theory is developed for an arbitrary surface roughness profile. Results are further extended for the ensemble averaged absorbance response on the random surface roughness model in term of the power-spectrum of roughness. A general result derived showing relation between the absorbance of pseudo first-order catalytic reaction and the absorbance of reversible charge transfer. The dependence of absorbance transient on morphological characteristics and homogeneous rate constant is highlighted. Our results show an enhancement in the absorbance-transients for the band limited self-affine fractal roughness of OTE and coupled kinetics of homogeneous reaction with a heterogeneous charge transfer step
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
