Vision 2021: The Needs for Women Entrepreneurship, Their Prospects and Constraints in Bangladesh
Development of women entrepreneurship offers excellent opportunities for development of one half of the population and for overall socio-economic progress of the country. This paper examines issues like why women entrepreneurship is needed in Bangladesh to achieve the target set for Vision 2021. What factors influence the strategic growth of women-owned businesses in Bangladesh? What are the characteristics of Bangladeshi women entrepreneurs and their businesses? What have been the greatest obstacles and challenges for women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh? The study shows that the constraints of innovative women entrepreneurship are traditional views and stereotypes about women, lack of science and innovation, lack of substantial investment and women being seen less credible financially than men, lack of access to technical scientific and general business networks, lack of business training, role models and entrepreneurship skills

School Ties and Critical Audit Matters Disclosure
Although the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) mandated critical audit matters (CAMs) disclosure to meet investors’ and other financial statement users’ demand for more informative audit reports, the intended objectives of CAM disclosure have not been fully achieved. In this study, I examine whether and how school ties (ST) between audit engagement partners (EPs) and their clients’ top executives (CEOs, CFOs, or board chairpersons) affect the extent and informativeness of CAM disclosure. Using hand-collected data on U.S. EPs from LinkedIn, I develop a measure of ST for the period from 2019 to 2023. I predict and find that ST between EPs and their clients’ top executives are negatively associated with both the extent and informativeness of CAM disclosure, as evidenced by fewer CAMs, shorter CAM descriptions, and less market reaction. I also find that the negative association between school ties and CAM disclosure is stronger when auditors provide non-audit services, when clients are more economically important to auditors, and when clients belong to litigious industries. These results suggest that a school tie between an engagement partner and top executives may compromise auditor independence and judgment, leading to less extensive and less informative CAM reporting. The findings of my study should be of interest to regulators, investors, and standard-setters, as they offer insights that support ongoing efforts to enhance CAM disclosures, especially given that current practices have yet to reach their full potential
Search Timelines: Contextualized search history in support of exploratory search
A Thesis Submitted to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Master of Science in Computer Science, University of Regina. xiv, 151 p.The timespan over which exploratory searching can occur, as well as the scope
and volume of the search activities undertaken, can make it difficult for searchers to
remember key details about their complex search tasks. These difficulties are present
both during a single search session and when resuming a search task that spans multiple
sessions. Existing public digital library search interfaces do not provide adequate
support to allow patrons to pursue a complex search task for a prolonged period
across multiple sessions. In this thesis, I present a novel search interface designed to
support cross-session exploratory search in a public digital library context through
the introduction of Search Timelines. The interface provides context for past and
current search activities via a dynamically updating timeline of the search (queries
and saved documents). This timeline is presented alongside the search results in a
typical search engine results page design. A more detailed timeline is provided in a
workspace, where searchers can review the history of their search activities and their
saved resources. In order to assess the value of Search Timelines, a controlled laboratory
study was conducted to compare it with a baseline interface modelled after the
Regina Public Library search interface. The results of this study show that searchers
were more engaged while working with Search Timelines both during the initial search
session and when resuming the search after a gap of 7-8 days. The results also show
the value of the novel interface in terms of usability measures, perceived knowledge
gain, and search performance for both initial and resumed sessions. Overall, the
results illustrate that Search Timelines can effectively support public digital library
searchers while performing exploratory search that span multiple sessions.Studentye

ENABLING IOT AUTHENTICATION, PRIVACY AND SECURITY VIA BLOCKCHAIN
Although low-power and Internet-connected gadgets and sensors are increasingly integrated into our lives, the optimal design of these systems remains an issue. In particular, authentication, privacy, security, and performance are critical success factors. Furthermore, with emerging research areas such as autonomous cars, advanced manufacturing, smart cities, and building, usage of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices is expected to skyrocket. A single compromised node can be turned into a malicious one that brings down whole systems or causes disasters in safety-critical applications. This dissertation addresses the critical problems of (i) device management, (ii) data management, and (iii) service management in IoT systems. In particular, we propose an integrated platform solution for IoT device authentication, data privacy, and service security via blockchain-based smart contracts. We ensure IoT device authentication by blockchain-based IC traceability system, from its fabrication to its end-of-life, allowing both the supplier and a potential customer to verify an IC’s provenance. Results show that our proposed consortium blockchain framework implementation in Hyperledger Fabric for IC traceability achieves a throughput of 35 transactions per second (tps). To corroborate the blockchain information, we authenticate the IC securely and uniquely with an embedded Physically Unclonable Function (PUF). For reliable Weak PUF-based authentication, our proposed accelerated aging technique reduces the cumulative burn-in cost by ∼ 56%. We also propose a blockchain-based solution to integrate the privacy of data generated from the IoT devices by giving users control of their privacy. The smart contract controlled trust-base ensures that the users have private access to their IoT devices and data. We then propose a remote configuration of IC features via smart contracts, where an IC can be programmed repeatedly and securely. This programmability will enable users to upgrade IC features or rent upgraded IC features for a fixed period after users have purchased the IC. We tailor the hardware to meet the blockchain performance. Our on-die hardware module design enforces the hardware configuration’s secure execution and uses only 2,844 slices in the Xilinx Zedboard Zynq Evaluation board. The Literature review in this study describes what Financial Statement
Analysis is and references some researchers and their quotes about what
they think about financial statement analysis. In the methodology part I try to
find out what type of data it has been used, how it has been collected and
what was the sample size used throughout the study.
In the Findings and Analysis section, the main part of the study has been
spoken about the financial performances and results of the Pharmaceutical
Companies and the results have been graphically presented and analyzed.
Lastly, this report ends with the information of how the financial situations
has been over the last Five years in Pharmaceutical Industry and who has

Design and Analysis of a Pattern Reconfigurable Antenna for Wi-Fi Base Station

CST-MW simulator is presented in this research. The proposed design is a special type of
patch antenna and capable to make coverage at two directions without changing any common
properties of a typical antenna. This antenna is able to reconfigure the beam pattern
automatically, by using a pair of waveguide port without using any type of switching
mechanism. The proposed antenna is able to switch the radiation beam from one direction to
its 1800 reverse angle without changing its operating frequency that is 2.4 GHz. Besides, Wi-
Fi technology is the most popular and widely accepted WLAN (wireless local area network)
that operated at 2.4 GHz. So, this proposed antenna may have been easily adopted by Wi-Fi
(wireless fidelity) technology. This antenna provides wider bandwidth that is 455 MHz. This
enormous bandwidth makes the speed of data flow at higher rate along the WLAN, that’s the
more advantageous for designing a base station. The CST simulator carried out the simulated
result of return loss is -24.5 dB that is acceptable for telecommunication transmitter or
receiver. It covers the region of 480 to 1310 and 2280 to 3120 in azimuth plane. The footprint
of the radiation beam pattern is 820 (3dB points) for both ports. The beam of the antenna
focuses at these directions with directivity of 1.8 dBi. The simulated VSWR (voltage
standing wave ratio) value of antenna is 1.12 for both ports that can be chosen able for
wireless communication technology. It’s compactness in size and fabrication simplicity are
the attracting features for the base station designer. Thus, this proposed antenna can be easily
