PEACE COMMITTEE AND PEACEMAKING: STORY OF A COMMUNITY IN ENUGU NORTH SENATORIAL ZONE
Peace eludes when parties are in conflict and Igbos of south eastern Nigeria strongly believe in the use of neutral third party in maintenance of peace among parties in conflict. There is proverb among Udenu people of Enugu state that “ebo n' ebo gburu onwe ha bu na onye eto anogh” ( parties in conflict kill themselves because third party is not around). Hence, whenever two or more people are in conflict, third party makes considerable effort to settle it thereby restoring peace. Peace committee, neutral third party which is composed of individuals of integrity, that are known and trusted by parties in dispute significantly contribute to peacemaking. The objective of peacemaking is to end violence between contending parties. Peacemaking can be done through negotiation, mediation, conciliation, and arbitration. The main machinery Peace committee use in peacemaking is mediation
Emotional Intelligence and Job Involvement as Predictors of Organizational Citizenship Behavior.
The study examined emotional intelligence and job involvement as predictors of organizational citizenship behavior. Three hundred and seventy-four (374) employees, (205 males and 169 females) of PRODA and INNOSSON plastic Co in Enugu metropolis participated in the study. Their ages ranged between 20 and 69, with a mean age of 35.14, and S. D=1.18. They were selected using convenient sampling method. 146 out of the participants indicated that they were married, 190, single and 38 divorced. Three instruments were used for data collection and they are Workplace Emotional Intelligence Profile Short version (WEIP-S), Job Involvement scale (JIS) and Organizational Citizenship Behavior Checklist (OCB-C). The study was a cross-sectional study using the survey research approach. Multiple Regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses using statistical Package for social science (SPSS V 23). Emotional intelligence and job involvement were found to make significant positive contribution in predicting organizational citizenship behavior. The findings have profound policy and practical implications for stakeholders in organizations who should take into cognizance these variables found to be significantly related to organizational effectiveness. Limitations were made while Suggestions for further studies were stated
IMPACT OF PERSONALITY ON SEXUAL RISK BEHAVIOR AMONG UNDERGRADUATE
The aim of this study was to examine the impact of personality on sexual risk behavior among undergraduates. Cross-sectional design was adopted in the study among 260 participants. Data sourced using data source through the use of sexual risk behavior survey (Jessica. Turchik. Walsh & Marcus. 2014). Big five personality inventory (John. Donahue & kentle. 1990). the hypothesis was tested using step wise Multiple Regression was employed in the analysis of data. The result shows that the five dimensions of personality did not have significant relationship with participant’s sexual risk behavior. The five dimensions of personality were equally not significant predictor of participant’s sexual risk behavior although they accounted for 1% of the variance in sexual risk behavior (DR2 = .01). It was included that risk behavior is found in people of different personality characteristics other than just one type
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

SOCIAL CHANGE AND CONFLICT IN NIGERIA: PSYCHOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE
Social change arises from adjustment in behavior pattern, cultural values, social structures and
organizations. This shift in existing order plays role in conflict in Nigeria. Insecurity is prevalent
in Nigeria today considering surge of extremism, banditry, insurgence, kidnapping. The part
played by social change particularly change in the traditional Nigerian society can no longer be
ignored. This study examines social change and its implications on conflicts in Nigeria using
descriptive research method. Among assertions are that social change in Nigeria should be
geared towards maintenance of equity, justice and that social values that promoted solidarity and
cohesion among cultural groups that constitute Nigeria be instilled into the Nation -Nigeria for
promotion of peace
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
