Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Evaluation of Geo-environmental Impact due to the Leachate from Solid Wastes
有害物質を含んだ固体系廃棄物を地盤工学的に有効利用する際には, 地盤環境に対する適切な影響評価を行う必要がある。本研究では有効利用を目的とした処理を行った廃棄物に対して複数の溶出試験を実施し, 地盤環境影響要因としての溶出特性, セメント固化による重金属の固定化効果, 溶出操作の相違が溶出特性に与える影響について検討し, 適切な溶出操作について議論を行った。The leaching characteristics from the stabilized wastes are discussed from the viewpoint of landfilling and geotechnical utilization. Municipal solid waste incinerated fly ash (MSW-ash) and sewage sludge incinerated ash (SS-ash) are used for the experiment. Three different batch leaching test methods and a column leaching test are conducted. The experimental results show that the batch leaching tests could not evaluate the change in leaching characteristics due to the change in pH or the duration to contact with water. Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Experimental and Numerical Study on Migration of LNAPL under the Influence of Fluctuating Water Table in Subsurface
地下水位が変動する条件下でのベンゼン(LNAPL)の地中での挙動を予測するため、NAPLシミュレーターによる数値解析を行った。NAPLシミュレーターはカラム試験で求めたS-p関係を再現できることを示した。さらにNAPLシミュレーターのコードの微修正により、カラム試験で得られた水およびLNAPLの飽和度、流速、液圧を良好に表現できた。この修正コードを用いて、実際の汚染サイトを対象に地下水位が変動する条件でのベンゼンの挙動を解析し、実際の現地調査の結果との比較を行った。解析結果と実測結果は良好な対応を示しており、修正NAPLシミュレーターは地下水位変動条件下でのベンゼンの挙動の評価に用いうることを示した。In this study, the results of NAPL Simulator which is used to predict the behavior of benzene (an LNAPL) under fluctuating groundwater table conditions are analyzed. A very good correlation was found between water saturation, capillary pressure and the location of the water table, and it was confirmed that the hysteresis phenomenon makes the S-p relations history and path dependant. A slightly modified NAPL Simulator code made a good prediction of water saturation, water flow, LNAPL flow, water table and LNAPL table of the column test. The modified version was then used to simulate the behavior of benzene at a contaminated subsurface under the influence of groundwater table fluctuation and the results were compared to the actual in-situ investigated results. Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dehydration‐Solidification Treatment System of Waste Slurry from Construction Works
建設工事に伴い発生する汚泥の処理が環境問題の一つに挙げられており、再資源化を行うためのより効率的な処理方法の確立が求められている。本研究では、建設汚泥の脱水処理、固化処理のそれぞれに関して、汚泥の特性に基づいて処理方法の効果と処理土の特性を検討、整理する。さらにその結果を踏まえて、連続脱水・固化処理システムの構築を目的として、処理効率の評価と検討を行う。Recently, utilization of the waste sludge from construction sites is strongly required, because a large amount of the sludge with high watercontent is produced, most of the sludge are merely disposed of as waste in the landfill site and some of them are even illegally dumped. Two major present methods are generally applied for the sludge treatment, namely dehydration and solidification, however these methods possess technical and economical limitations. In this paper we propose the continuous dehydration‐solidification treatment system as effective treatment method to utilize the sludge materials. Dehydration characteristics of the sludge are experimentally evaluated, and the effect of the flocculants is examined. As the dehydration level can be expressed in relation to w/wL. (the dehydrated water content normalized by the liquid limit) regardless of other properties of the sludge, solidified properties of the sludge stabilized by cement after dehydration treatment are experimentally assessed and normalized by the index of w/wL.According to these experimental results, we examine the efficiency of this system by using two indexes. Experimental study on the long-term environmental impact caused by the cement stabilization/solidification of soft ground
セメント固化は,地盤改良や建設発生土,廃棄物の再資源化,汚染土壌対策などにおいて広く用いられているが,一度施工されると半永久的に環境中に存在することになるため,リスク管理や廃棄物循環利用時等の環境影響の観点から,セメント固化体中の重金属の長期的な溶出特性を把握する必要がある。本研究では,軟弱土のセメント改良体を乾湿繰返し試験に供し,劣化が促進した際の改良土からの六価クロムの拡散溶出挙動について実験的に評価を行った。さらにその結果に基づいて,セメント改良が地盤環境に及ぼす影響の定量的評価の考え方と手法について検討した結果を示す。Diffusive leaching behavior of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) from the cement stabilized soil were assessed based on the results of laboratory leaching tests. In particular, the effect of intermittent wetting and drying on the physical and chemical properties of the cement stabilized soil and its Cr(VI) leaching behavior were investigated by conducting the wetting and drying test for the monolith and gravel-type specimens. Experimental results showed that Cr(VI) leaching was significantly promoted by the intermittent wetting and drying. Apparent diffusion coefficients determined using the typical diffusive leaching model were 10^1 to 10^2 times larger under the wetting and drying condition than those under the submerged condition. Cr(VI) leaching from the cement stabilized soil were modeled using the advection-dispersion chemical transport analysis, applying the apparent diffusion coefficients determined in the laboratory tests.
