Replication Data for: Health loss-related grief among sick-listed employees - Development and validation of the Health Impairment Grief Scale
Background.
This study explored health loss-related grief reactions among sick-listed employees. Our objective was to increase understanding of the emotional experiences of sick-listed employees, particularly grief reactions stemming from their health issues. To this end, we developed and validated the Health Impairment Grief Scale (HIGS).
Method.
The 10-item HIGS was developed with input from academic experts in grief and labour, occupational health professionals, and sick-listed employees. Psychometric evaluation of the HIGS was conducted using data from 226 sick-listed employees. Participants mostly identified themselves as female (81%), highly educated (52%), were on average 49.3 years old, and have been sick-listed for 90.3 weeks.
Results.
The HIGS demonstrated a unidimensional structure, robust internal consistency, and temporal stability. Additionally, its items showed clear differentiation from symptoms of depression and anxiety, and exhibited solid convergent validity. These findings indicate that individuals can experience grief due to health problems.
Discussion.
This study identifies health loss-related grief as a distinct psychological phenomenon among sick-listed employees. The association between health loss-related grief and pre-job loss grief suggests that employees may face interconnected emotional challenges during return-to-work. The HIGS is a valid tool for assessing these reactions, potentially improving targeted interventions and support strategies for successful return-to-work outcomes
Replication Data for: Reciprocal relations between job loss-related grief reactions and quality of job search behaviour: A cross-lagged analysis
Background. Sick-listed employees facing job loss must engage in job search activities during this uncertain period. This study examined temporal dynamics between anticipatory grief, post-loss grief, job search intensity, and job search quality among sick-listed employees facing job loss.
Methods. Using a five-wave longitudinal design, 421 Dutch sick-listed employees who lost their job or position during the study period were tracked. Cross-lagged panel analyses examined relationships between anticipatory grief, post-loss grief, job search intensity, and job search quality, controlling for employment status and health perception.
Results. Anticipatory grief reactions significantly predicted post-loss grief intensity. Job search intensity and quality demonstrated shifting bidirectional relationships across time points. Grief reactions showed primarily unidirectional effects: anticipatory grief negatively predicted job search quality, while post-loss grief unexpectedly enhanced job search intensity. Job search behaviours did not predict subsequent grief reactions.
Conclusion. This study establishes grief reactions as a distinct psychological barrier in return-to-work processes, with differential effects across loss phases suggesting that phase-specific support approaches may be needed

The article is devoted to the study of mythotectonics and archetypes of the subconscious and the fantastic in the works of one of the outstanding authors of German literature of the XIX century Annette von Droste-Hulshof. Droste’s work is little known to the Ukrainian reader, but it deserves attention thanks to the unflinching honesty and strong faith that permeate her literary heritage. Two unfinished novels by the author were selected for analysis - "Ledwina" and "Bei uns zu Lande auf dem Lande"

A study on local level inertial surveying systems: Error Model for the stationary system
Civil Engineering and Geoscience
Crafting for Knowledge: The Hembrug terrain, a production estate
The location of the project is the Hembrug terrain which is located in Zaandam alongside the North Sea Canal. The Hembrug terrain has been the stage of ammunition and weapon production for over 100 years until all activities seized at the end of the last century. Nowadays the site has been abandoned by the military and a new connection to society has to be created in order to safeguard the heritage. New uses for the vacant buildings have to be developed without losing the essence and values of the buildings and the in between space. An ensemble in the south east of the Hembrug terrain called “Green Head of the Cape South” was the main focus of this graduation project. This ensemble forms the green tip of the Hembrug terrain towards Amsterdam and is enclosed by the North Sea Canal and side canal G. The ensemble includes four buildings: a 1930’s bomb shelter, a 1950’s storage building, a 1950’s factory building and a 1980’s Romney Hut (storage shed). This graduation project shows how the ensemble is revitalised by keeping close to the essence of the Hembrug terrain as a production estate while giving a response to the consumer society. The interventions to the ensemble and the buildings were all developed with the cultural and historical values in mind, creating a balance between hierarchy and contrast of the existing and the new architecture. ARSOn: A Robotic Search Optimization
Robotic search is a very active field of research, and especially search with multiple robots is of high interest. A swarm of robots equipped with sensors could be used in a variety of useful settings such as border patrol, monitoring water quality of the ocean with underwater robots, or – in case of the FireSwarm project – for finding dune fires with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). This thesis was assigned by the research company Almende B.V. and is related to the FireSwarm project. The main idea behind projects like FireSwarm is that a large group of cheap UAVs with cheap less reliable sensors can search more effectively than one expensive UAV with more reliable sensors. Therefore, the main focus in this thesis is on the development of efficient robotic search strategies for different sensor representations. The robotic search problem that is defined in this thesis is the problem of finding an important point (a fire) in a predefined search area as fast as possible with autonomous UAVs. Herein, a clear distinction is made between search with perfect (deterministic) sensors and search with more realistic and imperfectly (stochastically) modeled sensors. The modeling of the fire sensors is very general in order to be able to represent any kind of (fire) sensor. This is achieved by, instead of qualitatively modeling the effect of each factor on the fire sensor, modeling the sensor as a simple stochastic process. Two main conclusions can be drawn from the tests performed in this thesis. First, the optimal strategy for search with a single UAV, with perfect deterministic sensors, is shown to be a predefined sweeping path. Furthermore, the methods proposed in this thesis for predefining a search path for multiple UAVs with deterministic sensors resulted in near- optimal performance. Secondly, it is concluded that for increasingly stochastic sensors, the predefined sweeping path is easily outperformed by the simple greedy strategy proposed in this thesis. So, because of the general representation of the search problem, the results found in this thesis cannot only contribute to the development of fast efficient algorithms for the FireSwarm project but also to other real-world (robotic) search problems.BMDBioMechanical EngineeringMechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineerin
Architectur
