Stalker: una teoria psicodinamica
Stalking is a common social problem, that can cause psychological and social damage in its victims. It can be defined as a pattern of repeated, unwanted attention, harassment, and contact. This behaviour is often driven by psychiatric disorder, therefore it is important that mental health professional can have the instruments to assess and manage it properly. Starting from the data observed during the personal experience of the Author, this article outlines a structured profile of the stalker’s personality and its complexity. Psychopathological characteristics, psychosocial history and mental dynamics of the stalker are described. The aim is to provide information about factors contributing to stalking, as well as diagnostic issues that should be considered in the assessment and treatment of these patients
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Il disagio della felicità
[The discomfort of happiness]Abstract non disponibile.
[Clinical and psychodynamic aspects of the therapeutic work with the anorexic personality]
A psychodynamic profile at the origin of anorexia was described. In order to provide reliability to the considerations presented, the work made use of a sample of anorexic and depressed patients compared with controls, to whom a series of statistically processed personality tests were administered. This methodology brought to light that anorexic profile originated in childhood (adverse attitudes enacted by the personality of parental figures), interpreted by the child as a refusal of her own (fat) corporeity and the tendency to process information, express emotions and affections, react and act accordingly. These traits characterize the nascent personality and become apparent in adolescence (disesteem, insecurity, immaturity, social isolation, and sexual issues). Therefore, clinical work on the personality and anorexic behavior should aim at understanding the meanings attributed to the food and the body to initiate a correction and change. Such an intervention would tend to facilitate a gradual change in the original feeling and thinking of these dimensions in anorexia
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Memorie traumatiche precoci e disturbo post traumatico da stress. Uno studio sperimentale
[Early traumatic memories and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). An experimental study]INTRODUCTION. This paper has analyzed the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in order to address clinical and psychopathogenetic aspects of the disorder. An extensive literature supports the presence of a strong link between childhood trauma and dissociative symptoms, indicating this link as the primary or predominant source of PTSD. In addiction, several studies have shown that – exposed to the same traumatic conditions – not all people develop a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, a problem not addressed by clinical research. METHODS. The study aimed at verifying the existence of a correlation between childhood traumatic memories (sexual, psychological, and emotional abuse, exposure to family violence), and the further development of this anxiety disorder. Moreover, the research wanted to obtain a psychopathology profile of PTSD. Subjects were required to fill the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), including the PTSD-Keane scale, and some MMPI special scales. RESULTS. This research has verified a statistical relationship (logistic regression) between traumatic childhood events and the development of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In addition, the results obtained from the sample of psychiatric patients indicate a strong disorganization of the personality of patients with PTSD symptomatology. DISCUSSION. The data show that childhood trauma organize a basic vulnerability which increases 10 times the risk to develop this pathology after a traumatic experience
Depressione, stile psicotico e bassa autostima nell’ideazione e nei comportamenti suicidari
Psychiatric disorders are the most important risk factor for suicidal behaviour. Many studies have shown that the suicide plays a crucial role in the structuring of self-injurious behaviours implemented to psychiatric patients. Numerous researchers reported that depressive symptoms, low self-esteem, and “psychotic style or psychoticism”, are the most important conditions involved in suicidal ideation and suicidal behaviour. In this area a significant aspect of clinical interest is the suicidal ideation. The present study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of suicidal ideation among a sample of psychiatric patients, and in general population. The total sample consisted of 1,130 females (mean age = 34.9; sd = 13.8) and 686 males (mean age = 38.6; sd = 13.5). The study sample included anxiety disorders – AD (n = 493; 27.1%), depressive disorders – DD (n = 768; 42.3%), somatoform disorders – sd (n = 370; 20.4%), and general population – GP (n = 185; 10.2%). All subjects were required to complete the MMPI test, including the MMPI scales for depression (D), schizophrenia (Sc), and Low Self-Esteem (LSE). Two indices were also obtained from the MMPI to measure suicidal ideation: the Threat Suicide (TS) scale, and the response to the item 339 («Most of the time I wish I was dead»: true = 1; false = 0). Each subject of the sample is characterised by a personal clinical profile organised by the absence/presence of the three scales (normal or pathological), together with positivity or negativity of the two indices. The statistical analysis were performed by logistic regression (LR), analysis of variance, Chi-square (χ2), and linear regression (Pearson’s r). Data emerging from this study support the validity of three scales used for assessment of suicidal risk. The results also showed the strong relationship between depression, suicidal ideation, and suicidal behaviour, compared to the other analysed groups, together with less suicidal risk highlighted by the general population
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
“Codice psichico” e “Codice giuridico”
["Psychic Code" and "Legal Code"]The paper analyses the similarities between the so-called “Psychic Code” and the “Legal Code”. In this perspective, the first Code – from which the second is derived – is owned and produced by the “Paternal function”, a symbolic and historical dimension which provides the “Law” to the children, giving prohibitions and limits of their mental processes, and conditioning the consequent behaviour. This educational model is internalised by taking the task and the role of “moral conscience” of the individual, psychodynamic organization that will guide the individual action, while providing for the penalty to the violations of the “Internal Rules” (guilt). This particular profile assumed by the “Psychic code” to the very common “Legal code”, a dimension that is organised and operates starting from the rules to which a community has adopted. If the main function of this dimension is law enforcement, and the possible sanction at the time of its transgression, it also assumes an important symbolic meaning. The period defined as “postmodern”, among other phenomena, also saw the disappearance of the “Father”, his symbolic dimension, his authority, his ability to impose rules. If the “Psychic Code” fades and loses credibility, even the “Legal Code” follows the same path, with negative consequences
