Operational risk prioritization in supply chain with 3PL using fuzzy-QFD
Supply chain risk management is an important activity in current supply chain management. Operational risk is one of the most important risks in supply chains. The operational risk assessment process includes risk identification and evaluation and prioritization. On the other hand, the participation of Third-Party Logistics providers (3PL) in supply chains has been increasing, because companies want to focus on their core business and there are reports of benefits associated with the outsourcing of their logistics activities. However, it is also important to consider how the presence of 3PL providers affects risk management. The prioritization of risks must consider different dimensions and their effect on the global performance of the supply chain. We propose a multicriteria approach for risk assessment in a 3PL company. We present an integrated QFD-Fuzzy Logic proposal for the prioritization of operational risks identified on a supply chain, according to their impact on the most important performance indicators. This proposal is applied to two case studies for Colombian companies: A company that employs a 3PL for ground transportation and a maritime shipping company that ships internationally
Estimación en la Intención de Agarres: Cilíndrico, Esférico y Gancho Utilizando Redes Neuronales Profundas
Upper extremities amputations can produce different disability degrees in the amputated person, this is acerbated even more, when it happens during active working life. So, for this reason, it is of social importance the study of prostheses and algorithms that help a better control of these by the user. In this research, we propose an architecture based on recurrent neural networks, called Long Short-Term Memory, and convolutional neural networks for classification of electromyographic signals, with applications for hand prosthesis control. The proposed network classifies three types of movements made by the hand: cylindrical, spherical and hook grips. The proposed model showed an efficiency (accuracy) of 89%, in contrast to an artificial neural network based on completely connected layers that only obtained an efficiency of 80% in the prediction of the hand movements. The present work is limited to evaluate the network with an electromyogram input, the control system for hand prosthesis was not implemented. Después de unificarse las redes informáticas bajo el protocolo TCP/IP se forma una red de acceso libre creando lo que se conoce hoy como Internet.
Una manera de comunicarse vía red Internet era a través del envío de correos electrónicos siendo utilizados principalmente por académicos, después de observar su eficiencia se creó un sistema de almacenamiento y recuperación de datos basada en la utilización de hipervínculos conocido como World Wide Web (WWW), de esta manera todo tipo de información era visible para cada usuario en su computadora con ayuda de un programa llamado ‘browser’ (navegador) que podía interpretar y vincular cada etiqueta de hipertexto, dejando al Internet accesible a cualquier persona de distintos puntos o lugares en el mundo (KVCHOSTING.COM).
Los usuarios de hoy en día no solo se envían información en texto, ahora lo complementan con imágenes, movimientos y sonidos, formando una manera más interactiva de comunicarse e incluso por medio de juegos se pueden hacer llegar los mensajes a diferentes usuarios, lo cual el Internet no ha dejado de ser un medio utilizado por académicos e investigadores, sin embargo, se ha convertido en una herramienta para la educación sin importar la edad o situación económica del solicitante.
El Internet como tal proporciona gran ayuda en la educación, desde una presentación sencilla de un documento hasta una exhausta investigación, con lo cual se ha convertido en un inmenso portal de conocimiento al alcance de quien lo requiera, es por esto que los más pequeños de la sociedad se encuentran sumergidos y llamados por esta herramienta, por las diferentes modalidades en las que puede presentarse como son el sonido, las imágenes y el movimiento pero sobre todo por la interactividad del juego. El niño más pequeño tiene ganas de aprender y conocer el mundo que lo rodea y su manera de hacerlo es por medio de la experimentación, de involucrarse con aquello que le llama

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
