Lessons learned from Federated Identity Management experience in e-Government
No full textNowadays the management of digital identity involves every company and institution, not only in the Internet world. Among different models of identity management, the federated model (FIdM) is the only one able to ensure a strong protection in terms of trust and privacy. Organizations joining the federation can decide to trust each other about which information can be exchanged in the process of authentication and authorization, according to policies agreed upon trust relationship management. This process is going to quickly raise in the immediate future with the adoption of cloud computing by Public Administration (PA).
In Europe, FIdM presents a heterogeneous scenario: not every country has already decided to adopt a federated approach, depending on political choices and local governments relations. With reference to cloud scenario in PA, we believe that is critical to strive the development of Cloud Identity as a Service model

The project consists in the issue of Enjoy my UniCam card allowing users to have, on a single physical card, several functionalities about facilitated banking account, university services and digital signature certicate. First results about the testing phase are presented as well as the next steps of the project
A Survey of Trust Management Models for Cloud Computing
Full text linkOver the past few years, cloud computing has been widely adopted as a paradigm for large-scale infrastructures.
In such a scenario, new security risks arise when different entities or domains share the same group
of resources. Involved organizations need to establish some kind of trust relationships, able to define appropriate
rules that can control which and how resources and services are going to be shared. The management
of trust relationships represents a key challenge in order to meet high security requirements in cloud computing
environments. This allows also to boost consumers confidence in cloud services, promoting its adoption.
Establishing trust with cloud service providers supports to have confidence, control, reliability, and to avoid
commercial issues like lock in. This paper proposes a survey of existing trust management models addressing
collaboration agreements in cloud computing scenarios. Main limitations of current approaches are outlined
and possible improvements are traced, as well as a future research path

In fact, the participants in the federation decide to trust each other about which information can be exchanged in the processes of authentication and authorisation, based on established policies to manage relationships of trust. According to this, it has been widely adopted during the last years. In particular, its adoption in Public Administration allows a proper organisation autonomy, supporting access to the services offered by the institution. This process is going to quickly raise with the progressive adoption of cloud computing by Public Administrations. In the paper, two projects accomplishing federated digital identity in Italian Public Administrations are presented. Starting from lessons learned, authors highlight a path forward for Public Administration toward federated digital identity in cloud computing scenario
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
