Born in Balıkesir in 1977, Akif Hasan Kaya’s first story book was published in 2012. Apart from his story books, he also has one published novel. A narrative approaching to surrealism and fantasy can be observed in his stories. In addition, he also includes the concept of family, the image of light and sentences loaded with visuality in his stories. The author has five published story books. In Akif Hasan Kaya’s stories; The sufferings and social issues experienced in the Islamic geography that shake people are at the forefront. Kaya explains this situation by fictionalizing it through story characters and using poetic expression. He became the voice of people who were oppressed, like the people in his stories. He brought many current facts to his stories. The story books of Akif Hasan Kaya, whose life and literary personality we also touch upon in this study, are: Islak Kibritler, Ölmüş Oyuncaklar Müzesi, Uzun ve Lacivert Günler, Bu Bir Aşk Hikayesi Değildir ve Serçe Risalesi. The texts in these books are classified as “short stories” and “short-short stories”. In this study, while examining Akif Hasan Kaya’s stories, the classical narrative analysis method was used for short stories. While examining short-short stories, the prominent features of the story, which were analyzed together with the classical narrative analysis method, were taken as basis

Akif Pirinçci "Yin" – Gender studies or grotesque Dystopie

    No full text
Akif Pirinçci is one of the most discussed authors in recent German literature. This is not only due to his work as a writer, but also to his provocative statements. More than often his name appears in press reports related to misogyny or even racism. These slogans also run through his novels. This in turn raises the question of whether Akif Pirinçci tries to suggest gender-specific, negative ideologies in his works. The novel "Yin" represents a new world order in which there are no more men and women are left to fend for themselves. The way in which the topic is dealt with by Pirinçci is sometimes so grotesque that the author's intention can be irritating to the reader. This work inherently analyses the novel "Yin" by Akif Pirinçci with regard to the question of whether the author tries to contribute to gender studies with the novel or whether it is a pure dystopia

Fluid flows of mixed regimes in porous media

    No full text
In porous media, there are three known regimes of fluid flows, namely, pre-Darcy, Darcy, and post-Darcy. Because of their different natures, these are usually treated separately in the literature. To study complex flows when all three regimes may be present in different portions of a same domain, we use a single equation of motion to unify them. Several scenarios and models are then considered for slightly compressible fluids. A nonlinear parabolic equation for the pressure is derived, which is degenerate when the pressure gradient is either small or large. We estimate the pressure and its gradient for all time in terms of initial and boundary data. We also obtain their particular bounds for large time which depend on the asymptotic behavior of the boundary data but not on the initial one. Moreover, the continuous dependence of the solutions on initial and boundary data and the structural stability for the equation are established. Chingiz Aitmatov's Grand Narrative

    No full text
Beyond political and cultural criticisms, grand narratives have the authority to disclose real facts. This authority is most effective in the field of culture. Grand narratives are the universal presentation of local culture. In a culture dominated by grand narratives, the dominant ideology of the regime is to control knowledge. Grand narratives play a role in generalizing and transferring information skillfully while describing the contemporary situation. A novelist was defined as a mirror reflecting the period and society in which he lived. Likewise, Chingiz Aitmatov tried to depict the political, social, and cultural structure of his period, and accordingly, formed his own grand narrative. The author skillfully revealed the facts of the period regarding the Marxist tradition and described the social, cultural, and political structure of the period using a tentative language in parallel with the facts such as analogy, myth, and legend. © 2021, IGI Global
