The analysis of two novels from the 1920s selected as emblematic cases – Le Monde désert by Jouve and La Mort difficile by Crevel – leads the author to point out the connections between the figuration of the subject in literature and the portrait in painting. Indeed, the survival of the portrait itself as a pictorial genre can be seen as a sign of its involvement in the enquiry of identity and subjectivity. This article describes the three main axes that organise subjectivity as a portrait: the fluctuation between stasis and movement, the relational dimension and the fictional one. The portrait becomes the ideal model of a subject conceived as the result of a creative process. Hence, painting is not to be considered a mere narrative theme but a key to the interpretation of the novels and a metaphor of the construction of the subject

The book collects contributions on the figure and works of Marco Santagata, scholar of Italian literature and novelist. Marco Santagata (Zocca (Modena), 28 April 1947 ‒ Pisa, 9 November 2020) was a scholar of Italian literature and novelist. Long a professor at the University of Pisa, he is the author of fundamental studies on Petrarch - culminating in the commentary on the "Canzoniere" (1996, 20042) -, on Dante, Boccaccio, fifteenth-century poetry and Boiardo, and on the lyric tradition up to Leopardi, Pascoli and d'Annunzio. THE ROLE OF THE FIRM IN FIGHTING POVERTY DURING THE PANDEMIC: THE ITALIAN SYNERGY OF BARILLA-CARITAS
The aim of this research is to study firms as a means of distribution, and not only of production, of wealth. In crisis and emergency situations, such as the one caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,
a particularly serious problem of growing and widespread poverty emerges. The author believes that
in these situations the ethical function of firms becomes central. This function can be carried out effectively not only through the efficient management of the firm, but also through ethical actions, as the
creation of alliances and synergies between businesses and the Church, which help the processes of
distribution of wealth in society, in general, and in the weaker social classes in particular
Ruling minorities within groups of companies and their problems: Proposals from the European literature, 1776-1976
The author aims to find the systematic causal links between majorities and
minorities, especially to demonstrate how, even as corporate governance systems change, the same links remained unchanged, at least starting from the
original forms of limited liability (colonial) companies. The main cause of the
oppression of minorities lies in the power of control, which instead of belonging
to the majority of share capital holders, is held by close minority shareholders.
For this purpose, the author presents a historical reconstruction of the problem
concerning the balance of powers between dominant minorities and disjoint
majorities within the groups of companies
The History of the Miniature through the Activities of the Ministry of Education: for a Brief Biography of the Discipline in the 20th Century
Abstract: Based on the method of the History of art history, this article attempts to contribute to the reconstruction of the Italian history of illumination history. The main subject of the research is the development of the historiographical method as it emerges from a critical analysis of some studies published in the «Bollettino d’arte» over about fifty years. The quantity and quality of the contributions dedicated to the philological study, the identification of the author and the dating of the illuminations discovered and investigated in the Italian territory during the first half of the century allowed the analysis to highlight the general path of consolidation and emancipation of the realm of the History of Illumination from the method of the History of paintings, from which it depended at least until the 1960s.Inserendosi nel solco metodologico della storia della storia dell’arte, il saggio è dedicato al tentativo di ricostruire in filigrana lo sviluppo della storiografia italiana della miniatura per come emerge da una rilettura critica di alcuni contributi comparsi sul «Bollettino d’arte» nell’arco di un cinquantennio.

Space Architecture Education in Milan
This paper suggest a method to develop project education activity teaching architecture and industrial design practices.
The thesis is based on the application of a methodology called “project research”, developed by the author inside the Design Faculty of the Politecnico di Milano, to formative context of the fourth year of the Laboratory of Industrial Design “Space Design”. The methodology related to the project research consists of the elaboration of new knowledge through the project experience in which theory and practice overlapped and in which the external environment, the real purchaser, the industrial reality, are the principal interlocutors of the designer.
The application of the project research methods to the formative context is recommended if the objective of the Laboratory of Industrial Design “Space Design” is oriented to a professional formation which put the students in the conditions to operate in a real context with external stimuli to the academic environment.
The focal point of the thesis expressed in this paper is the proposal of a education program in which the theoretical lectures of the academic instructors interweave with external resources, as experiences of professionals from the scientific and industrial world, with the aim to stimulate students curiosity and get them accustomed to the complexity. It could be useful to place the theoretical teaching next to the real practice of the “workshop” through: the research, that is the capability to found information; the analysis, that is the capability to manage and organize them; finally, the elaboration of concept design, which represent the visualization of the first hypothesis in which the project requirements and the designer intuition join together.
The results attended with this method could consent to the students to acquire a double management capability: the information management, from which it could derive the student attitude to the industrial design research, and the project management, from which could arise the attitude to the practice of industrial design.
The paper describes the proposed method through the case study of the fourth year of the Laboratory of Industrial Design “Space Design”, in which the author is scientific coordinator, started from this year at the Design Faculty of the Politecnico di Milano
