An inequality in Orlicz function spaces with Orlicz norm

    No full text
summary:We use Simonenko quantitative indices of an \Cal N-function Φ\Phi to estimate two parameters qΦq_\Phi and QΦQ_\Phi in Orlicz function spaces LΦ[0,)L^\Phi[0,\infty) with Orlicz norm, and get the following inequality: BΦBΦ1qΦQΦAΦAϕ1\frac{B_\Phi}{B_\Phi-1}\leq q_\Phi\leq Q_\Phi\leq \frac{A_\Phi}{A_\phi-1}, where AΦA_\Phi and BΦB_\Phi are Simonenko indices. A similar inequality is obtained in LΦ[0,1]L^\Phi [0,1] with Orlicz norm

Theory of one-sided invertibility for the operator R of Riemann’s boundary value problem in Lebesgue spaces Lp(Γ), where Γ is a union of two concentric circles, in terms of matrix operators is described. We obtain constructions of inverse operators and describe subspaces Ker R and Im R. As application to this theory we consider system of discrete equations of convolution type generated by the operator R.На основе матричного операторного исчисления порядка 2 построена теория односторонней обратимости оператора R краевой задачи Римана в пространстве Лебега на кольце, указаны конструкции обратных операторов и описаны подпространства Ker R и Im R. В качестве приложения рассмотрена система дискретных уравнений типа свертки в пространстве последовательностей, суммируемых с показательными весами, порождаемая оператором R. </p

Canada during the First World War: Conducting a Universal Registration of Labor Resources (based on the Canadian Press)

    No full text
The article is devoted to the study of the Canadian government’s policy in the field of labor mobilization of the population during the First World War. The author limits the presentation of events to 1916, when the concept of compulsory labor service was developed and implemented. The article proved that the universal registration of labor in Canada was the first step towards introducing compulsory labor service and, as a result, became the basis for abandoning the voluntary system of recruitment into the army and the gradual transition to compulsory military service (conscription). The projects of conducting a universal census of labor resources, developed by supporters and opponents of conscription, are being studied. The process of institutionalizing the labor mobilization of the Canadian population is described on the example of the creation and activities of two state bodies: the government Council for labor service and the parliamentary Committee for labor service. The features of the mechanism for the inventory of labor resources, including the structure of registration cards, the conditions for filling them in, as well as the circumstances of its implementation, are investigated. The results of the general census of labor are summarized, the protest movement among Canadian workers who for various reasons refused to participate in the universal registration of labor resources is studied

The Part IV of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, coming into force on January 1st, 2008, crowned the codification of the legislation in the field of the intellectual property of the Russian Federation. The purpose of this article is to trace the protection system of the moral interests of the author such as it was conceived by the fathers of the recent codification. Having examined the different types of the moral rights granted to the creator of an original work of authorship, the author analyzes the impact of the undertaken reform on the character of the moral rights of the author and in particular the principle of inalienability which has just been expressly provided by the Russian legislator. Simonenko Valentina. Structural triggers of the loss of scopelessness

    No full text
This paper presents a structural account of the shift from directly referential to non-directly referential interpretation of nominal expressions with strong definite articles in Austro-Bavarian German and demonstratives in English. I propose that such DPs involve a functional projection headed by a relational predicate which can host either a silent individual pronoun, which gives rise to the directly referential behaviour, or a restrictive relative clause, which gives rise to covarying interpretations. The paper thus translates into structural terms the recent proposals that DPs with demonstratives/strong articles have a greater semantic complexity than “regular” Fregean definites (Nunberg 1993, Elbourne 2008a, Schwarz 2009, Elbourne 2013). Previous approaches to this problem did not take into account the role of relative clauses, which are present in the overwhelming majority of non-directly referential uses of English complex demonstratives (King 2001, Dever 2001, Powell 2001)

Canada’s Participation in the Imperial Military Bodies in the First World War

    No full text
Introduction. The paper is devoted to the participation of Canada in the creation and activities of the Imperial War Cabinet and two Imperial War Conferences of 1917 and 1918 to explain the evolution of the foreign and political status of Canada as a part of the British Empire after the end of the War. Methods and materials. The paper is based on the British and Canadian Parliamentary Debates, Reports, Minutes of Proceedings and Meetings of the Imperial War Conferences 1917/1918 and the Imperial War Cabinet. To study them, it uses the method of historical criticism of sources. The author also uses the historical-genetic, comparative and the narrative methods to investigate the causes, the process of creating and activities of imperial military bodies for the unified management of the war. Analysis. The paper analyzes the reasons for the creation of imperial military organizations in the British Empire during the war. It reveals the organizational and functional differences between the two imperial military bodies: Cabinet and Conference. The author studies the activities of imperial military bodies during the war in detail, determines the role of the Canadian delegation in this process. The article analyzes the decisions of the imperial military bodies, reveals their domestic and foreign policy consequences for Dominion of Canada. Results. Canada’s active participation in the creation and activities of the imperial military bodies during the First World War was one of the factors in the transformation of the Empire into the Commonwealth of Nations, the formation of its own national identity, political and foreign independence within the Empire

Spherical harmonic representation of a wave produced by a source on the spherical wavefront

    No full text
Representations of a wavefunction were determined in terms of spherical harmonics. The source is considered as a spherical surface expanding with the velocity of light. The expressions determined are correct near the wavefront. The description of the electromagnetic field using the obtained solution is discussed
