Allocyphotes Gonzalez-Mozo & Ware 2023, new genus
<i>Allocyphotes</i> Gonzalez-Mozo new genus <p> <b>Type species.</b> <i>Cyphotes insolita</i> Goding, 1926, here designated.</p> <p> <b>Diagnosis.</b> Length 5–7 mm. (1) Frontoclypeus tubular, in anterior view extended beyond suprantennal ledges (ventrolateral margin of suprantennal ledges and frontoclypeus not in a continuous line) (Fig. 14); (2) in dorsal view posterolateral area of pronotum not extended laterad of humeral angles (Fig. 16); (3) humeral angles trilobate (Fig. 16 <i>ha</i>); (4) forewing <i>s</i> crossvein present (Fig. 17 <i>s</i>).</p> <p> <b>Description</b>. <b>Color.</b> Brown usually with black marks over pronotum and legs. <b>Sculpture.</b> Punctured, pronotum tuberculate, some species densely pubescent or longitudinal lines. <b>Head</b>. Subrectangular, longer than wide, subparallel to body axis, in lateral view metopidium, vertex and frontoclypeus not in a straight line (forming an angle) (Fig. 15); frontoclypeus tubular, in anterior view extended more than 1/3 beyond suprantennal ledges, apex acute or truncate (Fig. 14). <b>Thorax.</b> <i>Pronotum.</i> In lateral view, preapical part of posterior pronotal process variable among species from evenly convex (Fig. 15D), to enlarge rounded (Fig. 15C), to conical, some species subdivided into two or more humps (Figs. 15A, E); in dorsal view, humeral angles usually trilobate (Fig. 16A), if triangular strongly projected laterally (Fig. 16C); posterolateral area of pronotum usually not extended beyond the extension of humeral angles (Figs. 4C; 16), posterior pronotal process triangular, gradually acute. <i>Forewings. s</i> crossvein present (Fig. 17). <b>Abdomen</b>. <i>Male</i>. Aedeagus variable in lateral view from compressed (Figs. 20K, O), to scoop-shaped (Figs. 20C, G), corona concave with (Figs. 20C, K, O) or without denticuli (Fig. 20K) on dorsal margin, style variable among species. <i>Female. First valvulae</i>. ventral interlocking device (VID) variable convex (Figs. 18A, E) or bent (Figs. 18B, C, D), apex variable from acute (Figs. 18A, D, E) to truncate (Figs. 18B, C). <i>Second valvulae.</i> With (Figs. 19D, E) or without teeth (Figs. 19A, B, C) on dorsal margin. <i>Gonoplac</i>. Strongly sclerotized ventrally, expanded apically, with long setae along ventral margin, not variable among species (Fig. 19F).</p> <p> <b>Etymology.</b> <i>Allo</i> - Gr. <i>allos</i>, (others); <i>Cyphotes</i> Gr. <i>kyphos</i>, (humpbacked)—feminine.</p> <p> <b>Distribution.</b> Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela (Fig. 22). Species distributed between 40–2420 meters of altitude.</p> <p> <b>Comments</b>. Despite the morphological heterogeneity among the species, all included species exhibit the same proposed diagnostic characters that support including them in the same genus. The preapical part of the pronotal posterior process is highly variable and is here considered a reliable character only at the species level. Two species are transferred from <i>Cyphotes</i>, <i>(C. insolita</i> and <i>C. colombiensis</i>), one species is transferred from <i>Aspona</i> (<i>A. pompanoni</i>), and three new species are described for a total of six species. In contrast to <i>Cyphotes</i>, the distribution <i>Allocyphotes</i> is wider (Fig. 22). “ <i>Cyphotes</i> sp. ” figured in Godoy <i>et al</i>. (2006; pp. 121–123) represents a new species of <i>Allocyphotes</i> but was not available for study; it will be treated in a separate paper.</p>Published as part of <i>Gonzalez-Mozo, Laura C. & Ware, Jessica L., 2023, Review of Cyphotes Burmeister, 1835 (Hemiptera: Membracidae) with the description of a related new genus, pp. 501-525 in Zootaxa 5380 (6)</i> on pages 512-513, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5380.6.1, <a href="http://zenodo.org/record/10259472">http://zenodo.org/record/10259472</a>

Master of ideas and style, as well as a man of theater in the round (author, theorist, director), Jerónimo López Mozo is an undoubted point of reference for talented younger Spanish playwrights such as José Ramón Fernández, Laila Ripoll, Yolanda Pallín, Mariano Llorente, and others. Nevertheless, his dramatic corpus, which in fifty years of untiring commitment has now come to touch the ninety titles, still struggles to land on the stage of a country that does not fully recognize and promote its profound peculiarity, its explosive drive, incessant creativity. One cannot therefore fail to fully agree with Virtudes Serrano when, at the end of her exegetical premise, she asks herself heartily: “¿Por qué un país como el nuestro desprecia tanto valor, tanto talento, tanto compromiso? [‘Why does a cuntry like ours despise so much courage, so much talent, so much commitment? Why have these works not premiered as they deserve? But, like the author, I am only allowed to raise the conflict.]Maestro di idee e stile, nonché uomo di teatro a tutto tondo (autore, teorico, regista), Jerónimo López Mozo è un indubbio punto di riferimento per talentuosi drammaturghi spagnoli più giovani quali José Ramón Fernández, Laila Ripoll, Yolanda Pallín, Mariano Llorente, e altri ancora.
Sistemi voltati complessi: geometria, disegno, costruzione-Complex vaulted systems: geometry, design, construction. Ediz. bilingue
The research on vaulted systems through descriptive geometry and new digital tools is one of the areas of interest of scholars who deal with Cultural Heritage. Panoramic contributes and specific insights reveal, on the theme of such systems, the intertwining of geometry, design and construction. “Complex Vaulted Systems: Geometry, Design, Construction” is the title of the Excellence Course promoted by the Ph.D. programme of Architectural and Landscape Heritage, at Politecnico di Torino during the academic year 2018-2019. The course has been funded by the Doctoral School of Politecnico di Torino. The topic of the course is currently the subject of numerous trans-disciplinary studies aimed at safeguarding and sharing the Cultural Heritage. In this sense, the theme is configured as a place of dialogue between different disciplines, History of Architecture, History of Construction, Restoration, Construction Technique, Drawing and Architectural Survey, Descriptive Geometry. In Western architecture, in fact, masonry and stone-work vaults were the main structures used over the centuries for covering the internal spaces of the buildings. In specific historical periods (e.g. Middle Age, Baroque, until Contemporary) the vaults take particular complexity due to a more stringent link between Geometry, Design, Construction, that fuels the inventive abilities of architects and builders. The experimentation and the construction of new spatial configurations was favored by the virtuosic application of stereotomy for stone works, or the enhancements of building techniques for masonry and concrete works. The study of vaulted systems involves the search of the relationships between Geometry and Architecture in the process from design to construction, dealing with shapes, materials, and ornamentations. The lectures offered panoramic contributions and specific insights that revealed the intertwining of geometry, design and construction present in complex vaulted systems. The first two lectures, conceived to construct a framework for the geometric, design and construction problems linked to complex vaulted systems, and sequentially organized in the first week of the course, were given by Andrea Giordano, from the University of Padua, and José Calvo-López, from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. The last three lectures, organized to expose specific insights and let participants experience digital processes of shape interpretation, were articulated in sequence in the second week of the course. The lectures were given by Carlo Bianchini, from the Sapienza University of Rome, Ana López-Mozo, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and Pablo Navarro-Camallonga from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. The book is written in the author’s mother tongue (Italian and Spanish) and English
