Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Fabrication of Large-area Natural Polymer Nanofiber Composite Film via Horizontal Centrifugal Casting
No full text최근 합성고분자로 인한 환경문제가 대두되고 있는 가운데 천연고분자에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 그러나 기존 합성고분자에 비해 천연 고분자는 낮은 기계적, 열적 특성 등이 단점으로 지적되고 있다. 이를 보완하기 위해 천연 고분자 복합체에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 기존 천연 고분자 복합체 제작 방식으로는 주조(casting), 딥코팅(dip coating), 스프레이 코팅(spray coating), 스핀 코팅(spin coating), 진공 여과(vacuum filtration), 닥터 블레이딩(doctor blading) 등이 있다. 최근에 새로운 제작 방법으로 등장한 수직형 원심 캐스팅 (vertical centrifugal casting) 방법도 있다. 그러나 활용성를 증가시키기 위해서는 대면적을 가지는 필름을 제작하는 것이 필수적인 요소이다. 따라서 대면적의 필름을 제작하기 위해서 새로운 제작 방식인 수평형 원심 캐스팅 (horizontal centrifugal casting, HCC) 방법을 도입하여 다양한 천연고분자 복합체를 제작하였다. HCC 방법은 원통형의 캐스팅 몰드에 원하는 용액을 일정량 주입한 후 몰드가 수평축을 중심으로 일정한 회전속도로 회전하면서 필름을 캐스팅하는 방식이다. 본 연구에서는 HCC 방법을 이용하여 키틴 및 키틴-실크 복합체 필름과 nacre 모방 복합체 필름 제작하였다. 투명하고 유연한 키틴 필름과 절지동물 큐티클을 모방하여 실크 피브로인 매트릭스에 키틴 나노섬유를 포함하는 키틴-실크 복합체 필름을 대면적으로 제작하고 분석하였다. 또한 천연구조 재료 중 높은 강도를 가지는 nacre의 구조를 모방하여 복합체를 제작하였는데, nacre 구조는 고분자 매트릭스와 판상의 무기물로 구성된다. 우리는 투명하면서 높은 강도와 인성을 가지는 숙신산 무수물로 화학적 개질한 셀룰로오스(SA CNF)를 고분자 매트릭스로 사용하였고 박리된 clay 나노 시트 (Na MMT)를 판상의 무기물 강화재로 사용하였다. 제작된 대면적 nacre 모방 복합체 필름의 물성을 분석하였다|Recently, environmental problems due to synthetic polymers are on the rise, and attention is being focused on natural polymers. However, natural polymers have lower mechanical and thermal properties than conventional synthetic polymers. In order to make up for this weakness, research on natural polymer composites is being actively conducted. Conventional methods of manufacturing natural polymer composites include casting, dip coating, spray coating, spin coating, vacuum filtration, and doctor blading. There is also a vertical centrifugal casting method that has recently emerged as a new manufacturing method. However, in order to increase the usability, it is essential to produce a film having a large area. Therefore, in this study, a variety of natural polymer composites were prepared by introducing a new method, horizontal centrifugal casting (HCC), to produce a large-area film. In this system, the polymer solution is poured into a cylindrical mold and the mold is rotated at a constant speed with its rotor axis being horizontal. We fabricated chitin and chitin-silk composite films and nacre mimetic composite films using the HCC method. A transparent and flexible larege-area chitin film was prepared, and a large-area composite film containing chitin nanofibers in a silk fibroin matrix was fabricated by mimicking an arthropod cuticle. In addition, a composite was fabricated by mimicking the structure of nacre, which has a high strength among natural structural materials. The nacre structure consists of a polymer matrix and a 2D inorganic material. We use cellulose modified by succinic anhydride(SA CNF) as the polymer matrix and exfoliated clay nanosheet (Na MMT) as the 2D inorganic reinforcement. The properties of the fabricated large area nacre mimic composite film were analyzed.Maste

Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
