PERFORMING POLITICS IN THE AGE OF SOCIAL MEDIA: ENTERTAINMENT, INFORMATION AND GOVERNANCE
Hell Traits in Handwriting of Youths Involved in Crime: Evidence from a Correctional Facility
This study examines the hell traits of youth inmates involved in criminal activities and detained in a correctional facility in Hail City, Saudi Arabia. Focusing on two types of crimes, fighting and robbery, it aims to show the evidence of personality traits in their handwriting. Drawing from a larger sample, the data was obtained from three youth inmates who were involved in fighting and robbery. The handwriting of the three youth inmates showed at least two or more characters of "hell traits" associated with fighting and robbery. These characters include A.M., M.F. and S.M., as revealed by the connotations in their handwriting. The study findings could be helpful to the government and its agencies to reduce and control crime, and more importantly, detect deviant traits among young people. More studies need to be done using more extensive data and multiple methods to ascertain the criminal behaviour of youths
PERFORMING POLITICS IN THE AGE OF SOCIAL MEDIA: ENTERTAINMENT, INFORMATION AND GOVERNANCE
This paper discusses the way politics is performed in the age of social media through popular platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. While these platforms function as a site for networking and information sharing, these sites also contain a wealth of data about the users ready to be mined by any interested parties, be it for political or economic gains. This feature is a characteristic of the present world brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. As the world is increasingly becoming online, traditional way of doing and performing politics, ranging from practicing politics to communicating about politics, has changed. The paper outlines five interrelated ways in which politics are now performed online and the implications to governance and democracy. Following the argument of Neil Postman on public discourse in the age of television, this paper argues that in the age of social media, politics is now performed not only in an entertaining manner, but social media has also encouraged speculations and uncertainties among its citizens. Thus, while the potential for social media is there to increase political participation among citizens, it also carries with it the danger of creating a mis-informed public despite the wealth of political information available.

Social Media and Politics: How Candidates Used Facebook in 2020 Kimanis By-Election
This article explores the ways politicians used Facebook as part of their political campaigns based on postings of Mohamad Alamin and Karim Bujang who contested in the Kimanis 2020 by-election. Throughout the two-week campaigning period from 4 to 17 January 2020, a total of 22 postings related to Kimanis were made by both candidates on their respective pages, evidence that the platform was used as part of their campaigning tools. However, both candidates used the platform differently and the difference is attributed to their familiarity (or lack of) with the platform’s various social buttons. In his usage of these affordances, Mohamad had created an online trail that linked him to prominent politicians who were campaigning for him. These politicians generated 43 Kimanis-related postings on their respective pages. On the other hand, as Karim did not utilize these buttons, there was no online trail that linked him to other politicians in his camp. As for the nature of the postings, both candidates did not use Facebook to raise issues of concern to the voters. Rather, it was utilized to document their offline campaign activities. However, Mohamad certainly benefitted from his online network as the influential politicians generated contents that were important to the voters. This study shows that despite the incorporation of Facebook in the candidates’ political campaigns, it is not fully utilized for active political conversations. Additionally, a familiarity with the social affordances of Facebook could be strategically used to create a more impactful online campaign

beberapa orang pensyarah. Data -data yang dikumpulkan dianaIisis menggunakan
Statistical Packages/or Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 10.0 yang melibatkan skor
min dan ujian t (Independent t test). Dapatan kajian menunjukkan isi kandungan

NMR-based metabolomics and UHPLC-ESI-MS/MS profiling of Syzygium jambos in relation to their antioxidant and anti-hyperglycemic activities
Search for natural sources in disease management especially diabetes has surged recently for its potential health benefits. However, several fruit tree species remained unpopular despite their folkloric usage due to insufficient scientific data. Syzygium jambos (L.) Alston (Myrtaceae) is a fruit-bearing plant that is used as a traditional dietary supplement to treat various diseases including diabetes. This study investigated the correlation between S. jambos leaves’ metabolites and the bioactivities using proton-nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR)-based metabolomics approach. In-vitro total phenolic content (TPC), 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH•) radicals scavenging, nitric oxide (NO•) radicals scavenging, anti-α-amylase and anti-α-glucosidase assays were performed. The findings indicated that 70 ethanolic extract demonstrated the highest potential in overall bioactivities. A total of 59 and 30 metabolites were tentatively identified using ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography electrospray ionization Quadrupole-Orbitrap tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC/ESI Q-Orbitrap MS/MS) and NMR, respectively. The partial least square (PLS) model revealed tannins, triterpenoids, and flavonoids significantly contributed to the separation and bioactivities. This study provides comprehensive insights into S. jambos metabolome and reveals the potential as a reliable source of antioxidant and anti-hyperglycemic compounds. © 2023 The Author
