Modulated Pencil-Drawn U-Shaped Piezoresistive Graphite on Compound Fibers for Wind Sensing
No full textThe design, fabrication, analysis and measurement of the modulated pencil-drawn U-shaped piezoresistive graphite on paper compound fibers and its application for wind speed sensing are reported. We found that pencil drawing was a facile method for producing an ultrafine graphite film through the friction between the pencil leads and paper fibers. The pencil-drawn graphite was characterized by Raman spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction. The resistance of the patterned graphite sensor showed a decrease or an increase due to compression or tension bending, respectively, of the paper cantilever substrate. The wind impacting onto the flexible paper substrate with negative and positive speeds resulted in a bending compression or tension that was related to the resistance measured from the sensor. It was demonstrated that the resistance of a 10-mm -ide line of the U-shaped graphite on the paper substrate was 24k at approximate to 40 degrees and 45k at approximate to-40 degrees. Furthermore, we found that the graphite patterned on paper substrate with a small line width, such as 3mm, showed good linearity for the relationship between the measured resistance and the wind speed.

No full text本文以坪林的聲景為例，透過訪談、參與式觀察與實地踏勘，考察坪林自1970年代起至今的聲景演變史。同時，從不同尺度的空間與社會特質與演變過程，對應探究坪林各類聲景的生產機制。此外，透過梳理坪林聲景多元詮釋，凸顯與外界之間及內部彼此的差異和張力。綜合以上三者，本文整理出聲景建構的動態系統，為各層次、各步驟的聲景研究提供整體框架參考，並且結合社區參與的精神提出「聲/命共同體」概念，期待為聲景保存和聲景規劃設計提供新的認識論和方法論。The current study examined the evolution of soundscapes in Pinglin since 1970 through personal interviewing, participle observation, and field research. I explored the creative process of soundscape composition, with a focus on the underlying spatial and social dynamics. By documenting the diverse interpretations of soundscapes in Pinglin, I demonstrated the differences and tension between internal and external forces. Together, the study sheds light on the dynamic system underlying soundscape production, providing examples and implications for soundscape research at multiple levels. In conjunction with the spirit of community participation, we proposed the concept of Sound-Life Unity, which hopefully will contribute to the development of new epistemologies and methodologies for preserving and designing soundscapes
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
