    No full text
This aim of the study intends to identify trade finance services provided by Yoma Bank in Myanmar and to explore the factors influencing on trade finance services of Yoma Bank. This study is based on primary data from respondents who are active customers of Yoma Bank, using random sampling. Among about 100 exporters and importers, 50 are asked by delivering paper questionnaires directly to them. The questionnaires are prepared by using five-point Likert scale to measure the five influencing factors namely; reliability, assurance, responsiveness, variety of products and tangibility of trade finance services available at Yoma Bank in Myanmar. The secondary data were gathered from various sources of previously printed research papers, text books and internet. All the data have been analyzed by using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). According to the survey data all of the findings regarding the customers’ perception on International Trade Services of Yoma Bank have the positive mean score. Among them, customers’ perceptions on Reliability factor get the highest mean score when the customers perception on Responsiveness factor get the lowest mean score. It can be concluded that most customers have positive perceptions on to International Trade Services of Yoma Bank. This finding is very useful for Yoma bank as it will assist with their innovative strategy in making effective decision on their trade finance services

Prediction Models for Estimation of California Bearing Ratio for Cohesive Soil

Cohesive soils are well known for their low strength properties. Thus, they are inappropriate for geotechnical works. Soils may be stabilized to increase strength and durability. Stabilization with cement is a common treatment technology. The present study examines the strength of cement stabilized soil. The laboratory tests were carried out in order to study the strength of california bearing ratio CBR . Nine clayey soils with different properties were mixed with various amounts of cement content 3, 6, 9 and 12 and compacted at the optimum moisture content and maximum dry density. Soaked or unsoaked condition of soil affects the CBR value. The test results show that unsoaked CBR before stabilization ranges between 2.78 and 10.22 which that of its corresponding soaked samples range between 1.01 and 9.5 . After stabilization, the values of unsoaked CBR range between 3.08 and 47 . The maximum values of unsoaked CBR are within 10.8 to 47 . So it can be used as sub base condition. The conventional CBR testing method is expensive and time consuming. The laboratory test results were used for the development of regression based model to predict unsoaked and soaked CBR values for natural and cement stabilized soil. Win-Win business ethics engagement and corruption reform methods

No abstractThere has been comparatively less work done on how to effectively engage with and reform unethical and corrupt behaviors in business world; behaviors that can be both legal and illegal. According to the author, however, the research that has been done is very encouraging. Effective business ethics methods can be very profitable and sustainable. Effective business ethics methods can be learned and taught. Further, effective business ethics methods can help cause and stimulate better and greater socioeconomic development. In this paper, the author first considers nine types of effective business ethics engagement and corruption reform methods. Second, he examines in some detail six win-win methods with real case examples. Third, theoretical foundations for win-win methods and why win-win ethical business practices and relationships are profitable and sustainable are considered. Fourth, he discusses strengths and limitations of win-win methods. For the author, win-win methods can help facilitate ethical and mutually prosperous association

Edge contraction and cop-win critical graphs

The problem is to determine the number of ‘cops’ needed to capture a ‘robber’ where the game is played with perfect information, the different sides moving alternately. The cops capture the robber when one of them occupies the same vertex as the robber at any time in the game. A copwin graph is one in which one cop can always capture the robber. A graph is cop-win edge-critical with respect to edge contraction (CECC) when the original graph is not cop-win, but the contraction of any edge results in a cop-win graph. In this paper, classes of CECC graphs are determined, and k-regular CECC are characterized for k ≤ 4

Studies on an Unknown Compound from Argyreia barbigera Choisy

Argyrelil barblgera Choisy (Min-go-ga in Myanmar) is widely distributed in Myanmar. The rhizome of Min-go-ga is used as amernorrhoea, diuretic, elephantiasis, paralysis, laxative, arthritis, pneumonia and gonorrhoea. An unknown pure compound could be isolated from the rhizome of Argyrelil barblgera Choisy by applying advanced chromatographic methods, such as Thin-Layer and Column. An unknown pure compound was confirmed by phytochemical test which gave positive test for sterol. The molecular formula of unknown compound could be determined by some modem spectroscopic methods such as infrared, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance, 13C nuclear magnetic resonance, DEPT (Distortionless Enhancement by Polarization Transfer), HSQC (Heteronuclear Single Quantum Coherence) and Mass spectroscopic methods. The planar structure of this sterol was elucidated by advanced spectroscopic techniques, such as COSY (Correlation Spectroscopy) and HMBC (Heteronuclear Multiple Bond Coherence)

Study of Six Selected Mangrove Plants in Myeik Coastal Line

Mangroves are various kinds of trees up to medium height and shrubs that grow in saline coastal sediment habitats in the tropics and subtropics mainly between latitudes 25˚ N and 25˚ S. Mangroves can be divided into two distinct groups: exclusive and non-exclusive. Local names and usefulness of the collected plants were gathered by interviewing with local people and by taking the photographs of these data. Mangrove extracts of Taninthayi coastal area are used in indigenous medicine; for example, the decoction fresh leaves of the nipa palm are used for indolent ulcers. Ash of roots and leave-sheath are used for headaches and toothaches. Bruuguiera species (Byu-u-talon) is used as condiment and adhesive, and as an astringent medicine against diarrhea and malaria. Sonneratia species (Lamu) are used for salt-water piling and the seeds of (lame) are a source of resin and ointment for treading skin diseases and wounds. Avicennia species (Tha-mae) have tonic effect. The wood of Ceriopstagal (Madama-myaw) is used for tool handles and made firewood. Mangrove forests are extremely important coastal resources which are vital to rural socio‐economic development

Strategic Corporate Negotiations: A framework for Win-Win agreements

    No full text
Exploring the concept of win-win agreements, this book analyses how they pose an important challenge for entrepreneurs, managers and advisors involved in complex negotiations among firms. Providing an overview and discussion of existing literature, the author further develops a theoretical framework for analysing corporate negotiations, and illustrates how this can be implemented in real-life situations. This book presents an empirical case study from the automotive industry and analyses the negotiation between Fiat Chrysler in 2009, offering practical strategies for those involved in corporate negotiations. Presenting how win-win agreements can improve competitive advantage, this book will be an invaluable read for practitioners and scholars alike.</p
