ZnxCd1-xS/g-C3N4 nanocomposites: synthesis, characterization, and photocatalytic activity
In this work, we prepared ZnxCd1-xS/g-C3N4 nanocomposites with excellent catalytic effect by the simple chemical precipitation method. The ZnxCd1-xS/g-C3N4 composite with excellent effect of degrading methylene blue (MB) was prepared by adjusting the ratio of Zn to Cd. The Zn0.25Cd0.75S/g-C3N4 nanocomposites have the highest degradation efficiency, which can reach 92.25%. The specific surface area and visible light absorption range are increased by the synergistic effect of the combination of ZnxCd1-xS and g-C3N4. The ZnxCd1-xS/g-C3N4 nanocomposites prepared by this study with excellent photocatalytic properties provide a method for the preparation of new composite materials in the future. The accepted manuscript in pdf format is listed with the files at the bottom of this page. CoaguChek XS INR-vierilaitteen käyttö Ranuan terveyskeskuksessa : Vierilaitteen ja DiaMed-CD4-analysaattorin tulostasovertailu
INR-vieritestaus on lisääntynyt viime vuosina erityisesti liikuntarajoitteisten kotisairaanhoidon asiakkaiden ryhmässä.
Oulu University of Applied Sciences

Title of thesis: Using CoaguChek® XS Point-Of-Care Testing in Ranua Health Center: Evaluation of Result Differences Between CoaguChek XS Monitor and DiaMed-CD4 Analyzer
Supervisors: Outi Mäkitalo and Paula Reponen
Term and year when the thesis was submitted: Spring 2013
Number of pages: 23 + 2 appendix pages
BACKGROUND: Point-Of-Care Testing (POCT) is a growing field in health care. During the past few years the use of Point-Of-Care Testing in monitoring oral anticoagulant therapy (OAT) has been growing in Finland, especially in the district nursing field. Transition out from a laboratory environment places challenges for the orientation and quality control of results.
AIM: Aim of this study was to compare results between CoaguChek XS monitor and laboratory analyzer DiaMed-CD4. The long-term aim was to increase understanding and knowledge of OAT monitoring with POCT in the health center of Ranua.
METHOD: In this study we took comparison samples from 30 patients. From comparison samples it was possible to expose a possible difference in result levels between these two test methods. Difference was compared to the outlined quality targets.
RESULTS: Research showed good correlation (r=0.97) between CoaguChek XS monitor and DiaMed-CD4 analyzer. In 24 samples the difference between results was less than 10 %. In six samples the difference was 10-20 %. The biggest single deviation calculated by INR units was INR 0.4.
CONCLUSION: Although the correlation between these two methods was significant and deviation was mainly within the outlined quality targets, it is recommended to pay attention to the uniform orientation and up-to-date instructions for the users of CoaguChek XS monitor. Reliable POCT result requires understanding of all the process stages

International Asteroid Warning Network Timing Campaign: 2019 XS
As part of the International Asteroid Warning Network's observational exercises, we conducted a campaign to observe near-Earth asteroid 2019 XS around its close approach to Earth on 2021 November 9. The goal of the campaign was to characterize errors in the observation times reported to the Minor Planet Center, which become an increasingly important consideration as astrometric accuracy improves and more fast-moving asteroids are observed. As part of the exercise, a total of 957 astrometric observations of 2019 XS during the encounter were reported and subsequently were analyzed to obtain the corresponding residuals. While the timing errors are typically smaller than 1 s, the reported times appear to be negatively biased, i.e., they are generally earlier than they should be. We also compared the observer-provided position uncertainty with the cross-track residuals, which are independent of timing errors. A large fraction of the estimated uncertainties appear to be optimistic, especially when <0 2. We compiled individual reports for each observer to help identify and remove the root cause of any possible timing error and improve the uncertainty quantification process. We suggest possible sources of timing errors and describe a simple procedure to derive reliable, conservative position uncertainties. © 2022. The Author(s). Automatic performance evaluation for video text detection
In this paper, we propose an objective, comprehensive and difficulty-independent performance evaluation protocol for video text detection algorithms. The protocol includes a positive set and a negative set of indices at textbox level, which evaluate the detection quality in terms of both location accuracy and fragmentation of the detected textboxes. In the protocol, we assign a detection difficulty (DD) level to each ground truth textbox. The performance indices cart then be normalized with respect to the textbox DD level and are therefore independent of the ground truth difficulty. We also assign a detection importance (DI) level to each ground truth textbox. The overall detection rate is the DI-weighted average of the detection qualities of all ground truth textboxes. which makes the detection rate more accurate to reveal the real performance. The automatic performance evaluation scheme has been applied on a text detection approach to determine the best parameters that can Yield the best detection results.Computer Science, Artificial IntelligenceEngineering, Electrical & ElectronicCPCI-S(ISTP)
Measurement of the direct CP asymmetry in B ¯ →xs+dγ decays with a lepton tag
We report the measurement of the direct CP asymmetry in the radiative B¯→Xs+dγ decay using a data sample of (772±11)×106 BB¯ pairs collected at the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The CP asymmetry is measured as a function of the photon energy threshold. For Eγ∗≥2.1GeV, where Eγ∗ is the photon energy in the center-of-mass frame, we obtain ACP(B¯→Xs+dγ)=(2.2±3.9±0.9)%, consistent with the standard model prediction
In the present paper the author has elaborated a model, which provides prognostication forecasting of solid solution CdxPb1-xS composition at co-precipitation of individual lead and cadmium sulphides. It has been shown that content of CdS in a solid solution has extreme characteristics depending on lead Pb2+ and cadmium Cd2+ ion concentration in a reactor. Satisfactory correlation of simulation results with experimental data, obtained by X-ray analysis of the synthesized films, has been proved.
An advanced adjustable switch hybrid (Ash) concept for high power automotive converters
In this paper, we introduce an Adjustable Switch Hybrid (ASH) converter concept. The ASH targets the optimization of the electrical performance of high-powered automotive drive-trains depending on the different load conditions during drive cycles. The new concept employs in principle the previously reported Cross Switch (XS) Hybrid having a parallel arrangement of bipolar Silicon IGBTs and unipolar SiC MOSFETs for benefiting from the different electrical characteristics of each paralleled device. However, the ASH relies on a computational approach for the continuous and dynamic adjustments of the Si-IGBT to the SiC MOSFET area ratio through the gate units depending on the load conditions. In practical terms, changes in the loading conditions can be sensed and data will then be sent back to the ASH gate drive unit for the optimum device ratio selection. In other words, the ASH provides the drivetrain with an Electronic Transmission System or Gear type functionality.Accepted Author ManuscriptDC systems, Energy conversion & Storag
