They are "A statically-unstable passive hopper: design evolution" by Peter Steinkamp and "Steinkamp's toy can hop 100 times but can't stand up" by Gregg Stiesberg, Tim VanOijen, and Andy Ruina. Both papers can be found in J. Mechanisms Robotics from links which can be found in the index.html file. This research was facilitated by NSF Grant Nos. E558433, E808388, and E558393

Includes index.ix, 486 pages :"Part of Wiley's new Graphic Standard Field Guides series, Graphic Standards Field Guide to Hardscape is the reference for the on-the-go professional. The perfect companion to the main Landscape Architectural Graphic Standards, this field guide provides the same standard architectural details and drawings that professionals count on from Graphic Standards, and adds photographs and interpretive information that are essential when outside the office and away from the design desk. The small trim size and durable binding makes it easy for landscape architects and designers to keep this resource on hand when on site, at meetings, or with clients. Organized to follow CSI's MasterFormat, this handy reference helps the landscape architect address a wide variety of practical issues pertaining to hardscape including site work, bases and paving, site improvements, furnishing and equipment, and services. A procedural checklist makes sure nothing's missed on site"-

Production measurement methods for trailing suction hopper dredgers

    No full text
When trailing suction hopper dredgers are employed, three methods of production measurement are commonly used. These are: 1. in-situ measurement 2. measurement in the pipeline 3. measurement in the means of transport Before a choice can be made, the advantages and disadvantages of the methods of production measurement have to be assessed in relation to specific site conditions. In this report the advantages and disadvantages of several possible methods of measuring production when working with trailing suction hopper dredgers are evaluated. To establish the accuracy of the Tonnes Dry Solids System - a modern measurement method which measures in the means of conveyance - a probabilistic accuracy calculation was made.Hydraulic EngineeringCivil Engineering and Geoscience
