Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full text지역사회간호학과/석사[한글]연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.가설 1 : “지시적 심상요법을 제공받은 실험군의 스트레스는 대조군보다 낮을 것이다.”는 기각되었다 (t=. 876 p=.385).가설 2 : “지시적 심상요법을 제공받은 실험군의 스트레스 대처는 대조군보다 높을 것이다.”는 지지되었다(t=2.36, p=.020).이상의 연구결과를 종합해 보면 고등학생 실험군에 있어 중간고사에 영향을 받아 지시적 심상요법 후 실험군, 대조군 모두 스트레스가가 전반적으로 상승하였다. 지시적 심상요법은 고등학생 실험군에 있어 4주프로그램을 제공하여 스트레스를 감소시키지 못하였다. 지시적 심상요법 후 심상능력 별로 보면 대조군중(+5.6), 하(+6.59)에 비하여 실험군에 중(+1.90), 하집단(+5.6)은 스트레스 증가 폭이 적어 지시적 심상요법에 영향을 받았다고 볼 수 있다.스트레스 대처에 있어서는 고등학생 실험군에 있어 중간고사에 영향을 받아 지시적 심상요법 후 실험군(-3.5), 대조군 (-12.3)모두 대처가 전반적으로 하락하였다. 대조군은 실험 전과 후에 유의한 차이로 감소하였으나 실험군은 다소 감소하여 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 심상능력에 따른 집단별 분석결과 심상능력이 높은 상집단의 스트레스 대처에 있어 모두 감소한 반면에 비하여 유의하게 증가(41.63→47.25, p=.026))하였다. 스트레스에서는 대조군과 차이를 정의할 수 없었지만 스트레스 대처에서는 지시적 심상요법이 영향함을 규명하였다. 지시적 심상요법의 접근에 있어 심상능력별 접근에 의의가 있음도 검증하였다. 향후 청소년의 스트레스 대처에 영향을 주는 바람직한 프로그램으로 사료된다.
[영문]The results of this study are as follows:Hypothesis 1 that, the level of stress in adolescents who received guided imagery will be significantly lower than that of a control group, was not supported (t=. 876 p=.385). This result may be related to the post test for stress being administered just before mid-term exams.Hypothesis 2 that, the level of stress coping scale of adolescents who received guided imagery will be significantly increased compared to a control group, was supported (t=2.36, p=.020).In conclusion, guided imagery is suggested as an effective nursing intervention for adolescents, which could be used in a school health program for adolescents. Even though a significant reduction in level of stress was not found, there was an increase in stress coping skills.ope

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
