    In dem Bereich der "Industrielle Qualitätskontrolle" soll es ermöglicht werden, die Konditionierung von Qualitätsprüfsystemen auch ohne die biher zu diesem Zweck verwendeten Gutmuster durchzuführen. Der Aufwand zur Herstellung solcher Gutmuster kann vermieden werden, wenn ein entsprechendes, computergraphisch generiertes Referenzbild zur Konditionierung des Systems verwendet werden kann. Dabei soll ein derartiges Referenzbild direkt aus der Repräsentation dees gesamten CAD-Daten-Austauschformates VDAFS gewonnen werden. Durch diese Maßnahme entfällt die aufwendige Eingabe des Modells, inkl. seiner Toleranzen. Es sind darüberhinaus mit computergenerierten Bildern in der Qualitätsprüfung worst-case-Bedingungen möglich, so ist z.B. das Altern der Prüfungseinrichtung simulierbar, und das System entsprechend konditionierbar. Die bislang aufwendige Konditionierungsphase des Qualitätsprüfungssystems läßt mit Serien computergraphisch generierter Bilder erheblich effizienter gestalten als mit de n bisherigen Variationen der Geometrie der Lage und der Beleuchtung der bislang verwendeten Gutmuster. Fernerhin könnte es zu einem "qualitätsprüfungsorientiertem" Konstruieren kommen. In Zukunft könnten Designer ihre Entwürfe mit CAD-Systemen nicht nur bezüglich der äußeren Form visualisieren, sondern auch im Hinblick auf eine gute Prüfbarkeit. Diese gute Prüfbarkeit kann dann mit den hi er zu entwickelnden Verfahren und Algorithmen schon weit vor der Fertigung (in der Konstruktion) festgestellt werden, und hilft so mit bei der Kostenersparnis. Dieser Bericht beschreibt, wie man aus den CAD-Daten ein Referenzbild generieren kann und was dabei zu beachten ist. Bildverarbeitende Qualitätsprüfsysteme arbeiten auf der Basis der Kanten- und Konturfindung zur Beschreibung der untersuchten Werkstücke.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    Research institutes, industrial companies, computer animation studios and printing facilities are often equipped with a lot of different machines for the rendering and display of raster pictures. The output devices (monitors, recording devices, printers) differ in their geometric and color resolution, in the picture format and in the chromaticity of the color primaries. There is a need to transfer pictures via local networks (LAN) from one device to another at studios and laboratories without having to compromise for the quality of the pictures. And there is a need to transfer pictures via tape, floppy or networks (WAN) from one institute to another or from an institute to the publisher, and so forth. For these purposes, a special format for the transfer of raster pictures has been developed which is independent of differences in pixel resolution, color resolution, color primaries, number of color per device and scan direction. For its use in the networks and on tapes, the file format has to initially have a character encoding to prevent any collision of pixel or image data with control sequences of terminal servers, network controllers and other hardware devices. Binary encodings are still to be developed; the format is open for different data compressions and other data encodings according to different application profiles. FTCRP means File for the Transfer of Colored Raster Pictures. FTCRP has been coined by several previous documents, implementation experiences and workshops during the past two years. The file format FTCRP meets the lack of a file concept of very high functionality and integrative power in the computer graphics, especially in the so-called "electronic imaging" community. The authors of FTCRP are concerned about different image storage and interchange formats in both the electronic imaging and the printing industry

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

For these purposes, a special format for the transfer of raster pictures has been developed which is independent of differences in pixel resolution, color resolution, color primaries, number of colors per device and scan direction. FTCRP means File for the Transfer of Colored Raster Pictures. The file format FTCRP meets the lack of a file concept of very high functionality in the so-called "electronic imaging" community. Specified herein are the function and a sketchy syntactical description of the file format; the format is open for different encodings and compressions.The Vol. 1 of the FTCRP - Implementation Manual and Report. It deals with the concepts and the syntax of FTCRP, further with a primal sketch of FTCRP interpreters and generators. Vol. 2 deals with the codings and compressions for FTCRP and specifies the software modularity of FTCRP interpreters and generators. The picture communication due to FTCRP may be an open communication: The raster picture may be completely specified by the sender of the FTCRP file; the receiver of the FTCRP file will "do his very best" to perform a reproduction and display of the transferred raster picture as it is possible for the receiver's hardware and software facilities. FTCRP is supposed to be able to cover each and every parameter which is relevant for a raster picture in each and every application in the computer graphics and imaging community. Of course, there will be a large set of parameters for specifying a raster picture with FTCRP. Finally, the syntax of FTCRP is given and listed.(AGD
