Some New Extensions of Multivalued Contractions in a b-metric Space and Its Applications
The Hβ-Hausdorff–Pompeiu b-metric for β∈[0,1] is introduced as a new variant of the Hausdorff–Pompeiu b-metric H. Various types of multi-valued Hβ-contractions are introduced and fixed point theorems are proved for such contractions in a b-metric space. The multi-valued Nadler contraction, Czervik contraction, q-quasi contraction, Hardy Rogers contraction, weak quasi contraction and Ciric contraction existing in literature are all one or the other type of multi-valued Hβ-contraction but the converse is not necessarily true. Proper examples are given in support of our claim. As applications of our results, we have proved the existence of a unique multi-valued fractal of an iterated multifunction system defined on a b-metric space and an existence theorem of Filippov type for an integral inclusion problem by introducing a generalized norm on the space of selections of the multifunction
Some Contributions to the Theory of Sampling.
The work Presented here had originated from a pioneering paper by Basu1 and is essentially an extension of his ideas to different problem in sample surveys. The whole word mainly consists in deriving estimators uniformly better than those usually adopted in with replacement schemes.in with replacement sampling schemes, the \u27order-statistic\u27 (distinct sample unite arranged in an ascending order of their unit-indices) forms a sufficient statistic. Therefore, if any estimator (e.g., say of the population man) does not depend on the \u27order-statistic\u27, it can be uniformly improved by the use of the Rao-blalckwell theorem. The author has not hesitated to use this powerful theorem to derive improved estimators- It T is a sufficient statistic, for any convex (downwards_ lose function, an estimator uniformly better than g(S) (where g(S) is some estimator based on the sample S) is given by E[g(S)1T]=S\u3eΣT g(S) p(S)/ S\u3eΣ T p(S)The whole theais ie divided into eight chapter and two ppendioen. Abstract Medicinal p lants are the nature's gift to human being to have disease-free healthy life. It p lays a vital role to preserve our health. India is one of the most med ico-culturally d iverse countries in the world where the medicinal p lant sector is part of a time-honored tradition that is respected even today. Medicinal plants are believed to be much safer and proved elixir in the treatment of various ailments. In our country, more than 2000 med icinal plants have b een recognized. Gri ffonia simplicifollia Fabaceae Family ) is an important medicinal plant for antidepressant. Its med icinal usage has been reported in the traditional systems of medicine. Gri ffonia Simplicifollia has been used extensively for treatment of some diseases like as depression, anxiety, insomn ia, fibro myalagia, and chronic headache. The present article including the detailed exploration of phyto -pharmacological properties of G. Simplicifollia is an attempt to provide a direction for further research
Raman area- and thermal- mapping studies of faceted nano-crystalline α-Fe2O3 thin films deposited by spray pyrolysis
Different advanced techniques including Raman area mapping and Raman thermal imaging has been used to investigate various properties of large area iron oxide thin films deposited by spray pyrolysis, on a large area of crystalline silicon substrates under controlled external parameters. Morphological studies reveal that the obtained films acquire lateral faceted crystalline structure of iron oxide. The Raman and SEM images, in unison, confirm the presence and large area distribution of the nano crystals of Fe2O3 phase. Thermal Raman imaging reveals that the obtained iron oxide thin films are robust and thus can be used for appropriate technological applications like electromagnetic shielding. The presentation of the authors' names and (or) special characters in the title of the pdf file of the accepted manuscript may differ slightly from what is displayed on the item page. A clinical comparative study of ropivacaine versus ropivacaine with fentanyl by continuous epidural infusion for post-operative analgesia and ambulation in patients undergoing major gynecological surgery
Background: To compare the effect of continuous epidural infusion of ropivacaine versus ropivacaine-fentanyl for post-operative analgesia and ambulation in patients undergoing major gynaecological surgeries. Methods: A total of 60 patients of age 20 to 50 yrs of body mass index (BMI) within normal range (18.5to24.9 kg/m2) posted for major gynecological surgeries were divided into two equal groups (Group R and RF) in a prospective, randomized, double-blind fashion. In Group RF (n=30) 0.1% Ropivacaine with 2µg/ml Fentanyl and in Group R (n =30) 0.1% ropivacaine were used. General anaesthesia was given to all patients. Continuous epidural infusion using elastomeric pump was started at ‘0’ post-operative hours at 6ml/hour. Post -operative pain (Visual Analogue Scale Score), ambulation (James Modified Bromage Scale) and side effects were noted at 0, 2, 4, 6, 12, 18, 24, 36 and 48hrs.Results: The differences in VAS Score of subjects of both the groups were statistically significant(p<0.05) at 18 hrs, 24hrs, 36hrs and 48 hrs and the differences in Modified Bromage Scale of subjects of the groups were statistically similar at most of the time intervals. Also, the side effects were statistically similar between the groups. Conclusions: Author concluded that ropivacaine-fentanyl is better than ropivacaine alone by continuous epidural infusion for post-operative analgesia in major gynecological surgeries with no statistically significant side effects, effect on ambulation being similar in both the groups.</jats:p
After Chipko: from environment to region in Uttaranchal
Although the Chipko movement is practically non-existent in its region of origin it remains one of the most frequently deployed examples of an environmental and/or a women's movement in the South. A small but growing number of commentators are now critiquing much neopopulist theorising on Chipko, and this paper provides an overview of these critiques. It then takes the debate further with reference to a more recent regional movement in the hills. By doing so, the author argues that it is possible to develop a more plausible account of gender, environment and the state in the Uttaranchal region, and illustrate common weaknesses in neopopulist understandings of Chipko and other social movements in the South
Marketing to Millennials Within the Airline and Finance Industries Across Cultures
abstract: Millennials are the group of people that make up the newer generation of the world's population and they are constantly surrounded by technology, as well as known for having different values than the previous generations. Marketers have to adapt to newer ways to appeal to millennials and secure their loyalty since millennials are always on the lookout for the next best thing and will "trade up for brands that matter, but trade down when brand value is weak", it poses a challenge for the marketing departments of companies (Fromm, J. & Parks, J.). The airline industry is one of the fastest growing sectors as "the total number of people flying on U.S. airlines will increase from 745.5 million in 2014 and grow to 1.15 billion in 2034," which shows that airlines have a wider population to market to, and will need to improve their marketing strategies to differentiate from competitors (Power). The financial sector also has a difficult time reaching out to millennials because "millennials are hesitant to take financial risks," as well as downing in college debt, while not making as much money as previous generations (Fromm, J. & Parks, J.). By looking into the marketing strategies, specifically using social media platforms, of the two industries, an understanding can be gathered of what millennials are attracted to. Along with looking at the marketing strategies of financial and airline industries, I looked at the perspectives of these industries in different countries, which is important to look at because then we can see if the values of millennials vary across different cultures. Countries chosen for research to further examine their cultural differences in terms of marketing practices are the United States and England. The main form of marketing that was used for this research were social media accounts of the companies, and seeing how they used the social networking platforms to reach and engage with their consumers, especially with those of the millennial generation. The companies chosen for further research for the airline industry from England were British Airways, EasyJet, and Virgin Atlantic, while for the U.S. Delta Airlines, Inc., Southwest Airlines, and United were chosen. The companies chosen to further examine within the finance industry from England include Barclay's, HSBC, and Lloyd's Bank, while for the U.S. the banks selected were Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo. The companies for this study were chosen because they are among the top five in their industry, as well as all companies that I have had previous interactions with. It was meant to see what the companies at the top of the industry were doing that set them apart from their competitors in terms of social media marketing content and see if there were features they lacked that could be changed or improvements they could make. A survey was also conducted to get a better idea of the attitudes and behaviors of millennials when it comes to the airline and finance industries, as well as towards social media marketing practices
