Interference with the citrulline-based nitric oxide synthase assay by argininosuccinate lyase activity in Arabidopsis extracts
No full textThere are many reports of an arginine-dependent nitric oxide synthase activity in plants; however, the gene(s) or protein(s) responsible for this activity have yet to be convincingly identified. To measure nitric oxide synthase activity, many studies have relied on a citrulline-based assay that measures the formation of L-citrulline from L-arginine using ion exchange chromatography. In this article, we report that when such assays are used with protein extracts from Arabidopsis, an arginine-dependent activity was observed, but it produced a product other than citrulline. TLC analysis identified the product as argininosuccinate. The reaction was stimulated by fumarate (> 500 microM), implicating the urea cycle enzyme argininosuccinate lyase (EC 4.3.2.1), which reversibly converts arginine and fumarate to argininosuccinate. These results indicate that caution is needed when using standard citrulline-based assays to measure nitric oxide synthase activity in plant extracts, and highlight the importance of verifying the identity of the product as citrulline.Rudolf Tischner, Mary Galli, Yair M. Spatially-localized time dependent solutions including turbulence and their interactions in 2D Kolmogorov flow
No full textIn 2D Kolmogorov flow in small aspect ratio domains, spatially-localized solutions such as kink, traveling or time-dependent kink-antikink pars coexist. However, the conservation of the flow rate in the y direction strongly restrict combination of localized solutions and their positioning. We find that by adding a homogeneous flow U y their positioning is controlled and each of localized solutions including a spatially-localized chaos is isolated. Numerical results suggest that these isolated solutions can be elements constructing a whole flow
Characteristics of overlap region in high-Reynolds number turbulent channel flow
No full textDirect numerical simulation of the fully developed turbulent channel flows have been carried out at the Reynolds number based on the friction velocity and the channel half width, 2000, 4000 and 8000. A hybrid 10th order accurate finite difference scheme in the stream and spanwise directions, and a second-order scheme in the wall-normal direction is adapted as the spatial discretization method. We observed the plateau profiles in the indicator function corresponded to the von Karman constant. Furthermore, second peak of streamwise pre-multiplied spectra were appeared in the same wall normal height, 300 < y+ < 600, in case of Re = 4000. Nevertheless, the effects of the lager than the channel half height scale on the streamwise turbulent intensity are fixed contributions without dependence on Reynolds number. These results suggested that the new streamwise vortexes are formed between buffer layer and outer layer with increasing of Reynolds number
Las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación y la enseñanza de la química en estudiantes de media vocacional del Instituto Integrado Francisco Serrano Muñoz de Girón – Santander – Colombia 2017
No full textObjetivo: La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación que existe entre las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación y la enseñanza de la química en estudiantes de media vocacional del Instituto Integrado Francisco Serrano Muñoz además permitió conocer la relación entre las TIC y la estrategia curricular, metodológica y de aprendizaje.
Metodología: Es de tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental correlacional, corte transversal con enfoque cuantitativo, la muestra fue de 135 estudiantes de décimo y undécimo. Se diseñó una encuesta como técnica de recolección de datos.
Resultados: permitieron establecer que cuando se utilizan las TIC se mejora el aprendizaje, se hace más dinámico y estas pueden mejorar las estrategias metodológicas en la asignatura de química. La comprobación de las hipótesis se realizó mediante el coeficiente de Spearman con correlación muy fuerte y positiva.
Conclusión: se comprobó que si existe relación entre las TIC y la enseñanza de la química, estas tienen incidencia en el mejoramiento de los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje, pero debe hacerse no como un insumo sino como un elemento propio de los aprendizajes de la química, que permita su uso pedagógico y cause impacto en el desempeño y desarrollo de las competencias.Tesi

Herederos y Pretendientes. Una lectura sociológica (1963-1990), recently published. This paper is the author’s response to criticism raised in the Conference and to published reviews received by this book. First, the author summarized the argument of Herederos y pretendientes. Secondly he responds and takes into account the most important objections against the book’s hypothesis and methodology. No full textEl tema de la propiedad horizontal es bastante denso, “se considera que hasta ahora se han logrado algunos esfuerzos esporádicos en dar a conocerlo en el medio, pero las publicaciones realizadas hasta el momento han sido muy técnicas o dirigidas a un grupo muy reducido de personas, por ello, al conocer la publicación de materiales dirigidos a orientar y capacitar a las personas encargadas del manejo de la propiedad horizontal, no han sido lo suficientes” (Academia, 2014).
Cabe manifestar, que la realidad respecto del manejo de la propiedad horizontal es muy sencilla, puesto que el tema no es sobre el manejo de los propietarios, lo cual ha limitado su participación en las decisiones de su copropiedad, además ha impedido el acceso de muchos copropietarios a órganos de dirección y a la misma administración, donde es común ahora encontrar reglamentos de propiedad horizontal, en los cuales se destacan los requisitos para acceder a estos órganos, como el Consejo de Administración, la administración y la misma revisoría fiscal.
Se ha de entrever, que aparentemente esto va en contra de los principios establecidos por la Ley 675 de 2.001, al impedir el acceso de cualquier propietario a estas instancias, donde es claro que se requiere una formación mínima, la cual se puede adquirir mediante la capacitación, la lectura, la asesoría y la investigación sobre los temas convergentes a la propiedad horizontal verde. Ante esta situación, es importante hacer un buen manejo de los recursos encomendados en este medio, además, de poner una gran dosis de sentido común.
Cabe destacar, que muchos de los administradores, miembros del Consejo de Administración y entre otros, pertenecientes a un conjunto cerrado de viviendas, fueron neófitos en los asuntos que actualmente manejan. Sin embargo, ser tan estrictos en los requisitos para ejercer dichos cargos no solo limita el acceso, sino que deja en entre dicho las acciones que deben realizar estas personas, ya que si bien es cierto que es importante una base académica o de experiencia, también lo es que las situaciones presentadas en el manejo de la propiedad horizontal exigen conocimientos en derecho civil, penal, policivo, entre otras más; igualmente en contaduría realizando balances, inventarios, libros contables, elaboración de presupuestos, entre otras actividades.
A lo anterior, también hay que tener en cuenta asuntos del orden sicológico, como el manejo de conflictos, relaciones interpersonales, entre otras más. No obstante, también se tiene en cuenta la rama de la ingeniería, en cuanto al manejo y dirección de obra, de normas urbanas, entre otras; como también la economía en lo concerniente a la reducción de costos de administración, el manejo de inversiones, entre otras. Además, de otras que serían necesarias de manera particular en cada una de las diferentes copropiedades de Colombia, de una u otra forma sería muy difícil ejercer estos cargos, pero se sabe que es más sencillo de lo que se ha mencionado, con los elementos que se han considerado necesarios.
Cabe mencionar, que las diversas situaciones que se presentan en la propiedad horizontal son muy significativas para analizar, como se ha descrito anteriormente, y es allí donde se requiere aportar a través de una manera sencilla y práctica, un diseño de
aplicación a este medio el manejo y la conservación del medio ambiente en favor a la comunidad, que hace parte o conforma un condominio o residencia de propiedad horizontal, mostrando los principales elementos que se deben considerar en el manejo de la misma en toda copropiedad en el sector verde.The issue of horizontal property is quite dense, “it is considered that so far there have been some sporadic efforts to make it known in the middle, but the publications made so far have been very technical or aimed at a very small group of people Therefore, knowing the publication of materials aimed at guiding and training people in charge of horizontal property management, they have not been enough ”(Academia, 2014).
It should be noted that the reality regarding the management of horizontal property is very simple, since the issue is not about the management of the owners, which has limited their participation in the decisions of their co-ownership, has also prevented the access of many co-owners of management bodies and the same administration, where it is now common to find horizontal property regulations, which highlight the requirements to access these bodies, such as the Board of Directors, the administration and the same tax audit.
It should be noted that apparently this goes against the principles established by Law 675 of 2,001, by preventing the access of any owner to these instances, where it is clear that minimum training is required, which can be acquired through training, reading, counseling and research on convergent topics to green horizontal property. Given this situation, it is important to make a good management of the resources entrusted in this medium, in addition, to put a large dose of common sense.It should be noted that many of the administrators, members of the Board of Directors and among others, belonging to a closed set of homes, were neophytes in the affairs they currently handle. However, being so strict in the requirements to exercise these positions not only limits access, but also leaves in between the actions that these people must perform, since although it is true that an academic or experience base is important, it also it is that the situations presented in the management of horizontal property require knowledge in civil, criminal, police law, among others; also in accounting making balances, inventories, accounting books, budgeting, among other activities.
To the above, we must also take into account issues of the psychological order, such as conflict management, interpersonal relationships, among others. However, the engineering branch is also taken into account, in terms of management and construction management, of urban standards, among others; as well as the economy regarding the reduction of administration costs, investment management, among others. In addition, of others that would be necessary in a particular way in each of the different co-properties of Colombia, in one way or another it would be very difficult to exercise these positions, but it is known that it is simpler than mentioned, with the elements that They have been considered necessary.
It is worth mentioning that the various situations that occur in horizontal property are very significant to analyze, as described above, and it is there that it is required to provide, through a simple and practical way, a design of
application to this environment the management and conservation of the environment in favor of the community, which is part or forms a condominium or residence of horizontal property, showing the main elements that should be considered in the management of the same in any joint ownership in the green sector1. No full textEl presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo principal determinar la relación entre el uso pedagógico de las TIC y el aprendizaje de la química en estudiantes del grado 11° de la institución Educativa “Santa Rosa de Lima” de Sincelejo – Colombia, año 2017; el tipo de investigación fue aplicada de nivel correlacional, de diseño no experimental, la población fue de 60 estudiantes, el enfoque fue cuantitativo.Se encontró que existe relación significativa (valor de Rho = 0,502 y de p = 0,000) entre el uso de las TIC y el aprendizaje de la química; también que existe relación significativa (valor de Rho = 0,514 y de p = 0,000) entre el uso de las TIC y el aprendizaje de la química; existe relación significativa (valor de Rho = 0,506 y de p = 0,000) entre el uso de las TIC y la metodología del docente; y que existe relación significativa (valor de Rho = 0,474 y de p = 0,000) entre el uso de las TIC y la apropiación de competencias específicas informáticas.Tesi
