Census-to-School Method Estimated Catchment Areas and Mean Income

    No full text
This dataset includes two sets of files: (1) the school-bg files contain the block groups assigned to each school (i.e. estimated catchment areas), as well as corresponding census tracts and enrollments, using the Census-to-School (CTS) Method described in Hashim, Laski, Kelley-Kemple (2023); (2) the school-level file contains estimates for school-level mean income and variance of income derived using publicly available data on school locations from the CCD, enrollments, and census data on the number of school aged children in each block group, and the proportion of families with school-age children in each income bin in each tract. See Hashim, Laski, Kelley-Kemple (2023) for details

HMJ ELITE TRADE was established in 2010 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan ideas from Mr. Hashim bin Haji Mat Jali family. This company was registered under the name of Mr. Mohamad Hakikie bin Hashim and Mrs. Salwati daughter Yussuf and it was established to engage actively in the wholesale / retail and also general contractors and street. The manager of this company, Mr. Hashim bin Haji Mat Jali, who is also a graduated student from University Sumatra Utara(1976) hiring worker which is only graduated in course that related to business. For example, all shareholders are composed of 5 members have a degree in business. HMJ ELITE TRADE office which is also located at the house of Mr. Hashim bin Haji Mat Jali, has been running for 5 years in business project. The purpose of moving the office from Kota Bharu to his own house is that all construction work as well as retail can run smoothly with their own family members help him.Beside that, it also makes it easier for clients to meet with management to discuss business matters

English in Southeast Asia: features, policy and language in use

    No full text
This volume provides a first systematic, comprehensive account of English in Southeast Asia (SEA) based on current research by leading scholars in the field. The volume first provides a systematic account of the linguistic features across all sub-varieties found within each country. It also has a section dedicated to the historical context and language planning policies to provide a background to understanding the development of the linguistic features covered in Part I and, finally, the vibrancy of the sociolinguistic and pragmatic realities that govern actual language in use in a wide variety of domains such as the law, education, popular culture, electronic media and actual pragmatic encounters are also given due coverage. This volume also includes an extensive bibliography of works on English in SEA, thus providing a useful and valuable resource for language researchers, linguists, classroom educators, policy makers and anyone interested in the topic of English in SEA or World Englishes as a whole

Authors’ response to the specious “Comment on the paper, on Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model for Carreau fluid flow over a slendering sheet, Hashim, Masood Khan, Results in Physics, 7 (2017) 310–319”

Our intention in this write-up is to give a reply for the specious comment of Asterios Pantokratoras on the paper “On Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model for Carreau fluid flow over a slendering sheet, Hashim and Masood Khan, Results in Physics, 7 (2017) 310–319 (Hashim and Masood Khan, 2017)”. The authors talked about each of those comments in detail. In brief, the authors do not comply with those specious comments made by Asterios Pantokratoras (2017)

Abul Hashim: The Unsung Hero of the Freedom Struggle

    No full text
Abul Hashim was one of the greatest leading figures in the history of Bengal’s freedom struggle. Born in a time when the British Raj in India had begun to convulse under its own weight, Hashim’s political philosophy, though shaped by larger Muslim sentiments, was also marked by his independent thinking and sense of justice. He was no demagogue trying to rouse the emotions of his people by crying socialism,in fact, he took drastic measures to revamp the Bengal Muslim League and made it a party of the people. Very few leaders of the 20th century had the twin traits of loyalty of purpose and exceptional abilities to turn their goals into reality. Some succeeded, some perished in the struggle but it’s the struggle which makes man a hero.Abul Hashim’s life is also a tale of that struggle, first against the imperialist power then against the elite feudal industrialist coterie of politicians who dominated the Muslim League. This paper will try to prove that Abul Hashim was one of the most charismatic leaders of Bengal freedom struggle who not only revitalized the League by setting it free from elitist monopoly and opening its doors for the poor but also refused to toe the line of Central leadership over the provincial autonomy of Bengal

2D simulation of transient enhanced boron out-diffusion from the base of a SiGe HBT due to an extrinsic base implant

    No full text
Transient enhanced diffusion of boron in SiGe HBTs is studied by comparing measurements of the temperature dependence of the collector current with the predictions of 2D process and device simulations. The collector current is chosen for modelling because it is extremely sensitive to very small amounts of out-diffusion from the SiGe base, and hence provides a rigorous test for the accuracy of the transient enhanced diffusion models. The SiGe HBT studied incorporates an ion implanted extrinsic base adjacent to the SiGe base, which allows the influence of the implantation damage on the boron diffusion to be studied. The process simulations show that point defects generated by the extrinsic base implant lead to a broadening of the basewidth around the perimeter of the emitter due to transient enhanced diffusion of boron from the SiGe base. This causes parasitic energy barriers to form, which in the worst case, extend laterally several microns from the edge of the extrinsic base. The electrical effect of the transient enhanced diffusion is a decrease in collector current as the emitter geometry is reduced. Transistors with different emitter geometries and undoped SiGe spacer thicknesses are studied and the collector/base reverse bias is varied to modulate the parasitic energy barrier at the collector/base junction. The trends in the measured collector current are in all cases well predicted by a simplified "plus one" transient enhanced diffusion model

Some conceptual aspects and approaches to the analysis of the Malaysian palm oil export marketing strategy / Arshad Hashim

    No full text
This paper seeks to examine some of the conceptual approaches to assess the impact of the deployment of an export marketing strategy for Malaysia palm oil in a large number of importing countries. The conceptual analyses of structural changes in the expanding global market (i.E, consumer demand analysis. competition in external environment) and a regression analysis if promotional and other factors affecting import demand curve for Malaysian palm oil are among the suggested approaches highlighted in this paper. Some analytical results based the above mentioned approached from the studies of Hashim (1994,1994a and 1995) are presented and discussed as examples. The paper concluded that conceptual and analytical approaches used in the forementioned studies could be used to assess the impact of export marketing strategy of acommodity of an exporter
