Attitudes toward ICT and working with computers of the royal Malaysia police workforce / Ab. Latiff Ab. Rahman, Wan Narita Mustapha, Adnan Omar and Hajah Rugayah Hj. Hashim
One of the primary characteristics of policing of the next century will be the proliferation of
technology as an important component of law enforcement. The successful law enforcer or
policeman of the future will be marked by an ability to incorporate and directly apply a wide
range of technology in their interactions with the public. More than simple data access, policing
technology is increasingly being used as a means by which the police and the public interact. The
overall objective of this study is to measure the attitudes of the Royal Malaysia Police workforce
towards the use of information and communication technologies in policing and then ascertain
the relationship between these attitudes and the policeman's job experience and productivity.
With a response rate of 77.67% from the 600 questionnaires sent to 14 identified police
headquarters throughout Malaysia, the results showed mediocre attitudes toward ICT and
working with computers relative to usefulness, confidence, liking and anxiety. The findings of
the study will outline important managerial implications related to introducing and implementing
new technology uses svithin law enforcement personnel in Malaysia
An analysis of the relationship between the international economic-legal regime and the achievement of balanced and stable growth through the international economic cycle
The global economy is controlled by an 'international economic–legal regime' (hereinafter
"IELR"), in which international economic institutions (hereinafter "IEIs") are the major nonstate
actors. They provide the rules of the game for the interaction of the States in an
international economic scenario. These IEIs, through their institutional capacity, enhance
certainty and predictability within the IELR, thereby passively supporting stable and a balanced
growth of global economy.
This thesis argues that opportunities to achieve stable and balanced growth, in which both the
financial and the real side of the economy grow, can be improved if the IEIs increase their focus
on the relationship between the Economic Cycle and the IEIs' institutional role. This argument
is developed by analysing the relationship between the IEIs' institutional role and the Economic
Cycle, first describing the Economic Cycle, and then clarifying the functioning of the IEIs in
their institutional role. To narrow the scope of this research, this thesis takes two IEIs as case
studies; namely, the IMF and the WTO
The vanishing author in computer-generated works: a critical analysis of recent Australian case law
Abstract
The use of software is ubiquitous in the creation of many copyright works, yet the requirement in copyright law that every work have a human author who engages in independent intellectual effort means that its use may prevent copyright subsistence. Several recent Australian cases have refocused attention on authorship as an essential criterion of copyright subsistence, and these cases suggest that much computer-produced output may be authorless and thus lack copyright protection. This article, the first in a two-part series, analyses how each case deals with the question of authorship of computer-produced works and why the use of software diminishes copyright protection for a significant number of computer-generated works. The article critiques the application of conventional notions of human authorship developed in the pre-computer age to modern productions and suggests alternative approaches to authorship that satisfy both the major objectives of copyright policy and the need to adapt to the computer age. The article argues that, without a broader judicial approach to authorship of computer-generated works, Parliament must remedy the lacuna in protection for these ‘authorless’ works. Possible solutions for reform are suggested. In a forthcoming article, the author comprehensively examines those reform proposals

Case Study : Hasim Enterprise / Norsyamimi Ab Manah
Hasim Enterprise’s furniture store opened in December 1997 when the country's economy was in a state of shock. Established and developed on its own premises. In the early days of opening, the place / location was rented for about 3 years but is now a private property. Once the land was owned by the company, the company expanded the furniture store from a small building into a 2-story building. This furniture store is a husband (family) business. Originally the owner was only from a factory clerk (his wife) and a night market trader (husband). The owner of this company is Hashim Ismail (husband) and Masnah Hassan (wife)
The idea of opening this store came from her husband's interest in the craft of handicrafts. After marrying and having two children, they decided to open a shop on their own. Fully capitalize on their own on a small scale. Proof of expertise in making furniture can be seen through the design of its office designed by Hasim owner of the company. Workers manage the shop which sells 15 furniture while 6 workers are factory workers who are only assigned to make furniture. These are Bangladeshi workers who are skilled in furniture making. Sell custom made items by their factory located directly behind their furniture factory. There is self-made furniture that other factories / shops do not. Able to change existing furniture design to create a bit of variety and diversify existing designs. Open from 9am to 11pm. The store is open daily from Monday to Sunda

Oral health literacy and oral health status among undergraduate University students / Azlan Jaafar, Normaliza AB Malik and Aws Hashim Ali AL-Kadhim
Introduction: To identify the prevalence of caries, plaque score, and periodontal disease and explore the correlations between oral health literacy scores and oral health status among undergraduate students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with a group of undergraduate students using the Malay version of the Oral Health Literacy (OHL) Index. A stratified random sampling technique was used to select the samples. Clinical oral examinations were conducted by a single trained examiner using a Community Periodontal Index (CPI) probe and a mouth mirror. Data analysis was conducted using statistical tests contained in SPSS version 26, and statistical significance was set at p<0.05. Results: A total of 280 students were recruited into the study. The prevalence of caries and periodontal disease was 58.9 and 13.2%, respectively. There was a significant association between OHL and field of study (p<0.001). There was also a significant negative but weak correlation between OHL and dental plaque scores (r= -0.147; p=0.014). A significant positive but weak correlation was found between dental plaque scores and dental caries (r= 0.135; p=0.024) and periodontal pocket depth (r= 0.168; p=0.005). Conclusion: The prevalence of dental caries was high, while the prevalence of periodontal diseases was low in this study. OHL correlated significantly with dental plaque scores and field of the study. Thus, OHL assessment is essential to understand a person’s OHL levels and can be considered a screening tool for early detection of poor oral hygiene
Ab initio pair potentials at metal-ceramic interfaces
A systematic approach is proposed to obtain the interfacial interatomic potentials. By inverting ab initio adhesive energy curves for the metal-MgO ceramic interfaces, We derive interfacial potentials between Ag and O2-, Ag and Mg2+, Al and O2-, Al and Mg2+. The interfacial potentials, obtained from this method, demonstrate general features of bondings between metal atoms and ceramic ions
