The paper’s theme is The Danish-German-Swedish Actor Max Hansen: An Intercultural Personality. By means of the biography and the movie Wienerbarnet it will be shown that the actor Max Hansen had an intercultural personality. Therefore the thesis of interculturality as well as the thesis of transculturality by Wolfgang Welsch was disposed. Those two assumptions should not disapprove but complement one antoher. The biography wants to point out the various stages of Max Hansen's life: his carreer but also his privat life. He was born in Germany but had a Danish mother and an Austrian-Hungarian father. He grew up in Germany far away from his mother, who was an actress too. He acclaimed his first and greatest achievments in Germany but he had to escape from the nazi regime to Scandinavia. There he was a popular actor and singer but he was not really able to replicate his earlier success. The analysis of the movie Wienerbarnet and the biography show that Max Hansen could overcome the creation of sphere, which is an intercultural characteristic, and overcome polarisation too. He settles all claims of interculturality, such as individual and linguistic identitys as well as breaches of culture. But with his ability of negotiation of the sphere-building he becomes a transcultural personality. The paper’s result is that Max Hansen had an intercultural as well as a transcultural personality
