Kraj demokracije? Istina u doba „infokracije” prema Byung-Chul Hanu
Članak istražuje suvremene izazove s kojima se demokracija suočava pod utjecajem digitalne tehnologije i promjene paradigmi moći, prema analizama Byung-Chul Hana. Manipulacija javnim mnijenjem putem „psihopolitike” i algoritama prijeti temeljima demokracije. The paper explores contemporary challenges faced by democracy due to digital technology and shifts in power paradigms, drawing on Byung-Chul Han’s analyses. The manipulation of public opinion through “psychopolitics” and algorithms threatens core democratic values. However, democracy’s strength lies in its vulnerability and openness, like the Christian concepts of solidarity and finding strength in weakness. The author suggests a poetic renewal of politics through rituals, narratives, and courageous truth-telling aiming to integrate digital and humanistic elements and foster an authentic democratic framewor
Śmierć porwana. O terezińskiej sztuce Hledáme strašidlo Hanuša Hachenburga z 1943 roku
The stolen death: About the play Hledáme strašidlo by Hanuš Hachenburg from 1943The puppet theatre play Hledame strašidlo by Hanuš Hachenburg was written in the Terezín/Theresienstadt ghetto in 1943 and over 50 years was hidden in the archive until it was presented to readers and viewers in the 1990s — but it turned out to be still surprisingly valid and cogent. The author, a 14-year-old prisoner of the ghetto, used the conventions of the puppet theatre, the carnival and the fairy tales. The mythical or fairy-tale-like “timelessness” allowed him to show the absurdity of Nazism and — yet unnamed — the Holocaust. The main character of the play, the King, captures Death itself, which soon becomes so ordinary and kitschy that no one is afraid of her. The confinement of Death — a motif known, among others, from the myth of Sisyphus — is an important theme of the theatre in Terezín; it appears also in the German-speaking opera by Peter Kien and Viktor Ullmann, Der Keiser von Atlantis Emperor of Atlantis. In this article, I show how the old themes of enslaved Death and the dance macabre between extasy and destruction become the symbols of the war, and indeed of the 20th century, which culminates in the devastating forces of the great ideologies and in which there can be found the origins of retrotopia, which is now, according to Zygmunt Bauman, the dominating point of view in East- and West-European and in American discourse. Autor, čtrnáctiletý vězeň ghetta, využil konvencí loutkového divadla, karnevalu a pohádek. Analisis Minat Penggunaan E-Wallet Gopay dengan Pendekatan Model UTAUT2
Analysis of User Interest in Using Gopay E-Wallet with UTAUT2 Model Approach - Technological and economic developments have resulted in consumer behavior patterns changing from cashless to cashless. The widespread use of cashless e-wallet transactions is due to the emergence of many service providers, one of which is Gopay. Consumer behavior patterns in technology have the potential to utilize as measured by several models. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) is used as a model. The objective of this research is to analyze consumer usage behavior of e-wallet services (Usage Behavior) interest in using e-wallet services consumer behavior intentions. Gopay uses the UTAUT2 model. The analysis of this usage behavior model is measured using 6 independent variables, namely performance expectations, effort expectations, social influence, conditions of support, motivation, and hedonic has on the dependent variable usage behavior by examining the effect of intermediary variables on behavior. As well as the intent to use IPMA To evaluate the relevance of each independent variable and its effectiveness about the dependent variable. The methodology employed in this study is quantitative research. Non-probability sampling and purposive sampling are the sampling techniques that have been utilized. The sample size is 400 respondents and the respondent's information is from the survey. The results of this survey were processed with SmartPLS 3.0 with the calculation results of Achievement Expectancy -0.008, EE0.056, Social Impact 0.008, HM0.118, Enabling Condition 0.176, HA Behavioral Intention, 0.4039. Then it is concluded that efficiency expectations, effort expectations, social influence, and HM do not affect user behavior through behavioral intentions. However, BI influences user behavior
Identification and Molecular Characterization of Dahlia Common Mosaic Virus from Silphium spp., a New Natural Host of the Virus
Dahlia common mosaic virus (DCMV) was previously reported to infect only dahlias (Dahlia variabilis). However, DCMV was identified for the first time in association with Silphium spp. The complete genome of DCMV was cloned and sequenced from naturally occurring symptomatic silphium plants grown in Kansas. The two DCMV silphium isolates sequenced showed over 98% sequence identity with those reported from dahlia (D. variabilis). The D. variabilis endogenous pararetroviral sequence (DvEPRS) was also detected in all 19 silphium samples tested in this study, suggesting that DvEPRS may exist as an integrated sequence in the silphium genome as well. Our findings indicate that the host range of DCMV appears to include other plant species besides dahlia. [Figure: see text] Copyright © 2024 The Author(s). Proposal for a EU quality label for aerospace education
The paper presents a possible roadmap for the definition of a European quality label for aerospace related higher education degrees. The proposal is the result of a two-years long Horizon 2020 project that has involved a great portion of the European stakeholders in aerospace: Universities, research centres, industries (both small and large) networks, associations and accreditation agencies. The core concept established is that it is possible to establish a sector-specific, content based, quality system, that can complement the existing national or European accreditation systems, providing added value to the internal and/or external quality assurance processes that are in place in most EU countries. The tools and processes proposed are sufficiently simple to be manageable by Universities in addition to their national accreditation processes or as stand-alone assessment. The main goal of the proposed process is the evaluation of the quality of the aerospace curricula in the European context, whereas the accreditation of the programme can be seen as an optional extension of the process, subject to further national regulations. The process is proposed in view of the awarding of a sector-specific, content based, quality label, to be issued by an appropriate legally recognized and qualified institution. 8 field tests with volunteering universities throughout Europe have been performed. They experienced the method as very practical and to the point
