Hamid Yeganeh's 2021 Article "Orality, Literacy, and the 'Great Divide' in Cultural Values"
See the above abstract. In my 4,300-word review essay "Hamid Yeganeh's 2021 Article 'Orality, Literacy, and the "Great Divide" in Cultural Values,'" I discuss Yeganeh's article in the International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy, Ong's thought about orality and literacy and related themes, and certain related themes in Michel Foucault's thought in the 1980s and earlier. I show from Foucault's statements that he was focused on Western literate culture, whereas both Ong and Yeganeh are also focused on pre-literate oral culture and residually oral culture.N/AFarrell, Thomas. MEMPERTIMBANGKAN NILAI ADIL DALAM WARISAN (Perspektif Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd)
Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd who has some thoughts related to the Qur'an is a contemporary Islamic critical thinker . He said that al Qur’an is a cultural product, this statement made him get under public criticism. However, besides that there are interesting things in the thought of Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd when discussing gender issues including in terms of division of inheritance which according to the author has not been known to the public. The idea that carried Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd is what the author needs to describe conceptually. Research on Gender Deconstruction Perspective Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd was done in order to answer: 1) How is the Qur'an according to Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd? 2) How is the legacy in the Qur'an according to Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd? This paper would like to reconstruct the thoughts of Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd on the Qur'an and the concept of justice in the inheritance. In order to reconstruct the thought of Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, the author used theoretical hermeneutical of Schleirmacher’s. theory
Physicochemical characteristics of Bt (Seeni-1) Vs. local hamid cultivar cotton seed oils
n investigation on physicochemical characteristics of Bt (Seeni-1) vs local Hamid cultivar (cv) cottonseed oils (CSO) was conducted. Protein in Seeni-1 seed was relatively higher than Hamid cv seed. Oil content, ash and fibre of Hamid cv were relatively higher. Ash and oil content in black (chemical delinting) and white (mechanical delinting) seed were relatively higher in Hamid cv. There were no differences between the specific gravity (sp.gr.), refractive index (R.I.) and moisture content of both oils. Free fatty acids (FFA) and iodine value (IV) in Seeni-1 were relatively higher. Saturated fatty acids (SFAs) in Hamid cv oil proved to be more than Seeni-1 oil [automatically the USFA should be higher in Seeni-1]. Phosphorus content in Seeni-1 oil was lower than that of Hamid cv, whereas there was no significant difference in the peroxide value (PV)
Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd
This chapter discusses the life and work of Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd (1943–2010). Abu Zayd is part of a group of contemporary intellectuals from the Arabic-speaking part of the Muslim world known as the turāthiyyūn, or “heritage thinkers.” This strand of Islamic thinking developed in the 1970s and 1980s in response to the traumatic outcome of the 1967 war between Israel and the surrounding Arab countries. Abu Zayd advocated the rigorous scholarly investigation of the Quran using innovative methods and techniques of textual criticism and discourse analysis used in literary studies, which was considered anathema by Islamist activists and made him the target of persecution. Abu Zayd and his wife sought asylum abroad, and he has since been recognized internationally as a scholar who has made pioneering contributions to move the study of the Quran and of the wider Islamic intellectual legacy forward.</p
Reliability updating of experienced Hydraulic Structures by account of inspections: Case study: Poiree weir Roermond
The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment manages approximately five hundred hydraulic structures and is responsible for the remaining life of these experienced structures. In this report, we developed a reliability analysis for the case study poiree weir Roermond. The inspections carried out by IV-Infra on the poiree weir Roermond concludes a rise to high risk e.g. a high probability of occurrence and major consequential loss primarily related to the observed erosion damage at the embedded poiree trestles located upstream river. The remaining life of hydraulic structures is in general the expected lifespan, on the condition that the structure does not fail in the expected lifespan also known as ‘reference period’. The remaining life can be determined as one can predict the deterioration and be able to predict in what condition the poiree weir will be. When the service life time is assumed a random variable, the strength condition can be modeled as a stochastic process, and thus the remaining life too. There is doubt concerning the structural safety because of this deterioration, a reliability assessment of experienced hydraulic structures must be therefore reviewed for use during the remaining life instead of the general reference period and are therefore not to be considered equal. The lognormal distribution with skewness k<1 is an appropriate method to model the strength deterioration behavior. The future condition can’t be exactly determined because of the introduction of the deterioration model uncertainty. Nevertheless, the effect of the inspection data on the reliability level can be illustrated by the likelihood of the strength at the moment of inspection and can be estimated better with a Bayesian afterwards probability. The increase of the actual number of inspections further reduces the uncertainty of the strength deterioration. The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure introduced the "experienced reliability level". The experienced reliability level is the minimum level of structural safety for experienced structures in main waterways. For the reference period and remaining life of 30 years, the following reliability index β = 3.3 is the lower limit for the structural safety for existing structures. The survival probabilities can then be given as reliability index, and compared with the minimum reliability level of experienced structures. To maintain the reliability level at the target level, the remaining life of the poiree weir is the period within which the minimum reliability level of experienced structures should not be less. The remaining life for without inspections and n=9 inspections is calibrated to 7 years, the increase of the number observations n=100 increases the remaining service life to 11 years. One can say that inspection increases the remaining life. This is great of importance for the planning of maintenance.Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and EnvironmentExperienced reliability level of hydraulic structuresPoiree weir RoermondMaster project reportMaster internshi
Institutional Approach to E-commerce: An Integrated Framework for Pakistan
Pakistan needs to knit itself into global information economy in order to ensure economic development. E-commerce is the essential tool through which this objective can be met. Currently, the economy is in a transition, the span of which needs to be shortened in order to meet the global challenges in the coming years. An institutional approach is essential to develop e-commerce. An appropriate institutional framework will shorten the time span of the transition period and will ensure a smooth transition to information economy. It will provide an effective and efficient use of the existing institutional infrastructure and development of new institutions. It calls for close coordination between the government, industry, and international organisations.
Unsupervised generative AI discovers pan-leukocyte dysregulated pathways in single-cell lupus data
<p>Comparisons of single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) data from healthy and diseased tissues are widely used to identify cell-type-specific dysregulated genes, pathways, and processes. Accordingly, many sophisticated methods have been developed for this purpose. However, such tools generally require considerable user expertise for optimal performance. Here, we show that unsupervised application of a linearly-decoded Variational Auto Encoder (a generative AI model) to scRNA-seq data recapitulates and extends findings from a seminal recent lupus study and leads to new insights. Thanks to existing software libraries, our approach is straightforward to implement, computationally efficient, methodologically robust, and produces consistent and reproducible results.</p>

Experimental study on antivibration control of electrical power steering systems
We focus on the antivibration controller design problem for electrical power steering (EPS) systems. The EPS system has significant advantages over the traditional hydraulic steering system. However, the improper motor controller design would lead to the steering wheel vibration. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the antivibration control strategy. For the implementation study, we also present the motor driver design and the software design which is used to monitor the sensors and the control signal. Based on the investigation on the regular assistant algorithm, we summarize the difficulties and problems encountered by the regular algorithm. After that, in order to improve the performance of antivibration and the human-like steering feeling, we propose a new assistant strategy for the EPS. The experiment results of the bench test illustrate the effectiveness and flexibility of the proposed control strategy. Compared with the regular controller, the proposed antivibration control reduces the vibration of the steering wheel a lot. © 2014 Zhaojian Wang and Hamid Reza Karimi
Stability in mean of partial variables for coupled stochastic reaction-diffusion systems on networks: A graph approach
This paper is devoted to investigating stability in mean of partial variables for coupled stochastic reaction-diffusion systems on networks (CSRDSNs). By transforming the integral of the trajectory with respect to spatial variables as the solution of the stochastic ordinary differential equations (SODE) and using Itô formula, we establish some novel stability principles for uniform stability in mean, asymptotic stability in mean, uniformly asymptotic stability in mean, and exponential stability in mean of partial variables for CSRDSNs. These stability principles have a close relation with the topology property of the network. We also provide a systematic method for constructing global Lyapunov function for these CSRDSNs by using graph theory. The new method can help to analyze the dynamics of complex networks. An example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the obtained results. © 2014 Yonggui Kao and Hamid Reza Karimi
