Oral history interview with Steve Hall, Gaynell Hall and Kay Weyen
Steve and Gaynell Hall along with Kay Weyen discussed the history of the South-Hall Ranch, land that was originally acquired through Cherokee heritage. Over the years the farm has produced fruit trees, cattle, and timber, and for a time served as a dairy farm. The current owners described the farmhouse built in the 1880s and the various roles it has served, including as a hospital during the Asian flu epidemic. The interview was conducted in this farmhouse which had been updated and added to and at the time of the interview was continuing to serve as a residence. The Oklahoma Centennial Farm Families Collection is comprised of interviews with farm owners and operators whose families have been involved in the farming and/or ranching business in Oklahoma for 100 years or more with properties designated an Oklahoma Centennial Farm or Ranch through the Oklahoma Historical Society
RoMEO Studies 6: Rights metadata for open-archiving
This is the final study in a series of six emanating from the UK JISC-funded RoMEO Project (Rights Metadata for Open-archiving) which investigated the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) issues relating to academic author self-archiving of research papers. It reports the results of a survey of 542 academic authors showing the level of protection required for their open-access research papers. It then describes the selection of an appropriate means of expressing those rights through metadata and the resulting choice of Creative Commons licences. Finally it outlines proposals for communicating rights metadata via the Open Archives Initiative’s Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH)
