No full textNineteen chert samples from a continuous core of the DSDP (Leg 17, Hole 167) were analysed for Ge; in addition we analysed five samples from other cores. The ages range between Late Jurassic, and Late Eocene. The concentration of Ge changes with age from 0.87 ppm in the oldest samples to 0.23 ppm in the youngest (equivalent to a Ge/Si decrease from 0.00000072 to 0.00000019). The decrease in Ge/Si is well correlated with the 87Sr/86Sr ratio in sea water of the relevant age. The interpretation of this trend may reflect: (a) different levels of Ge/Si in sea water as a result of a different ratio between hydrothermal and riverine input, (b) a diagenetic trend in siliceous sediments, (c) recording (by radiolaria) a transition between a radiolaria dominated ocean (with relatively high Ge/Si ratios in sea water) and diatom domination or (d) a combination of the above

No full textAutorkę artykułu interesuje postawa Ludwika Frydego (1912 – 1942) wobec poezji Tuwima, wyrażona w kontrowersyjnym szkicu krytycznym Klęska poezji Julinana Tuwima, opublikowanym w 1939 roku. Fryde jako krytyk był reprezentantem pokolenia 1910 i w jego imieniu zakwestionował wartości kolejnych tomów wierszy autora Biblii cygańskiej, jak naturalizm, witalizm, emocjonalizm, „energetyzm”. Stanowisko krytyczne wobec Tuwima było elementem szerszej dyskusji międzypokoleniowej o kulturze. Odrębność ideowa pokolenia 1910 została sformułowana przez Frydego w opozycji do modelu poezji skamandryckiej.The author of this article is interested in Ludwik Fryde’s (1912- 1942) attitude towards Tuwim’s poetry. Fryde wrote his controversial critical essay Klęska poezji Juliana Tuwima (The failure of Julian Tuwim’s poetry) in 1939. Fryde as a critic represented the 1910 generation and he questioned the values such as naturalism, vitalism, emotionalism ‘energetism’ present in the successive tomes of poems by Biblia cygańska author. Tuwim’s critique was a part of broader inter-generational discussion about culture. The distinctiveness of 1910 generation was expressed by Fryde in opposition to Skamander’s poetry.Anna Kieżuń ‒ dr hab., prof. The article is an attempt to give a broad outline of the profile of Ludwik Osiński as a literature lecturer at the Warsaw University. Over the centuries, the author of Zbiór zabawek wierszem has been accused of: lack of originality in concluding, imitativeness, deficiency of qualifications characteristic for a university lecturer, and finally, disapproval for transformations taking place in literature.
The purpose of the article is to answer the question about the Osiński’s position among the scientists of the Congress Kingdom. Moreover, this paper is also an attempt to verify the slightly understated, still taken over and reproduced judgements about unilateral and definitely negative attitude of scientists towards the critical legacy of the author of Zbiór zabawek wierszem.
When assessing the aesthetic and literary achievements of Ludwik Osiński, two points of reference were determined; the first one is the heritage of Antique, and the other one – the European literary doctrines developing in the 2nd half of 18th and the beginning of 19th century. In the exemplification, the author of the article subjects a fragment of the Osiński’s course (Wykład literatury porównawczej, czytanej w Uniwersytecie Warszawskim, [The lecture of comparative literature, read at the Warsaw University]) devoted to lyrical poetry to research review. A detailed presentation concerns a few issues, mainly the attitude to the antique tradition and the European literary doctrines, as well as understanding of the rules of evaluating and valuing of literary works

No full textThe author of the study discusses the history of the idea of creating a new language to be used by everyone, then Ludwik Zamenhof's idea of Esperanto and, finally, its spread and the progress of translating well-known cultural texts into this language. The researcher points out that in 1912 the New Testament's translation into Esperanto was published, and in 1915 Zamenhof translated the Old Testament from Hebrew – this translation was published in 1926. Ludwik Fleck: la teoría de los estilos de pensamiento y de los colectivos de pensamiento
No full textThe article contributes to the dissemination of the philosophical analysis of science developed by Ludwik Fleck, through the conceptual elucidation of the theory of Thinking Styles and Thinking Collective. For it; at first, a biographical of the author is exposed that allows to identify the context in which the theory arises and; in a second moment, the elements are characterized make up this theory. Finally, some of the contributions of the Fleckeana proposal for research in the social sciences are enunciated.Con el objetivo de contribuir a la divulgación del análisis filosófico de la ciencia desarrollado por Ludwik Fleck, en el presente artículo se hace una elucidación conceptual de la teoría de los estilos de pensamiento (Denkstil) y los colectivos de pensamiento (Denkkollektiv). Para ello, en un primer momento, se presenta la biografía del autor para identificar el contexto en el que surge la teoría y, en un segundo momento, se caracterizan los elementos que la conforman. Finalmente se enuncian algunos de los aportes de la propuesta fleckeana para la investigación en ciencias sociales
