The law of maintenance of wife and children during marriage and post-divorce in Pakistan : Lesson from Islamic Family Law (Federal Territories) Act 1984 (Malaysia)
In Islam, a wife's right to maintenance during marriage and post-divorce has been emphasized greatly in the Quran and Sunnah which are two main sources of Islamic Law. In many Muslim countries, legal frameworks, constitutional obligations, and religious duties require the state to take specific steps to protect the financial rights of Muslim women within families, which are designed to protect the rights of the maintenance of wives and children. This thesis discusses the maintenance of wives and children during marriage and after divorce in Pakistan with a special reference to the Islamic Family Law (Federal Territories) Act 1984 Malaysia. This study focuses on the maintenance of wife and children, specifically post-divorce maintenance of wife provision, which is not incorporated in the Muslim Family Law Ordinance 1961 of Pakistan. Amongst the objectives of this research is to examine the laws of maintenance of wives and children in Pakistan. It also analyses the law of maintenance of wives and children in Malaysia, especially the Islamic Family Law (Federal Territories) Act 1984, to get important lessons from this law. This study employs qualitative research, which is comprised of library and field research. The interview method is used to gather data from twenty respondents, including law experts (judges and lawyers), Islamic scholars, and aggrieved women. This study finds that the existing Islamic family law in Pakistan is insufficient to protect the rights of maintenance of wives and children during marriage and after divorce during iddah. Furthermore, the thesis highlights that the absence of the Family Support Division in Pakistan makes it difficult for divorced women and children to secure maintenance effectively. In contrast, Malaysia has established the Family Support Division. Therefore, the thesis recommends that the Muslim Family Law Ordinance 1961 must be reviewed on issues of maintenance of wife and children during marriage, especially post-divorce in Pakistan to protect the financial rights of the women and children. Additionally, it proposes the establishment of a Family Support Division in Pakistan to ensure the enforcement of maintenance orders and provide financial assistance to affected women and children, similar to the Malaysian mode
Available Bandwidth Measurement in 4G Networks
Existing available bandwidth estimation tools were mainly designed for fixed IP backbone networks and desktops with assumption of First In First Out(FIFO) Principle. While LTE supports high data rates of 100 Mbps, challenge is to adapt available bandwidth algorithms for quick and non-intrusive measurements on an Android OS based device supporting different MIMO configurations. This Master thesis presents real time, two way available bandwidth measurement tool using Two Way Active Measurement Protocol(TWAMP) for Android OS based devices to measure high speed LTE networks. The tool performance is verified against FTP throughput measurement with effect of variation in constant bit rate UDP cross traffic and load on the server on end-to-end measurements. The results from emulation and tests in a commercial LTE network show that we can achieve available bandwidth estimations on both the uplink and downlink in real time. This opens up wide possibility to include various existing available bandwidth techniques and tools in mobile application to be used over a wireless link. Further, possible suggestions to achieve better available bandwidth estimations with native application development has been proposed.Validerat; 20130917 (global_studentproject_submitter

Investigation for optimal hybrid concrete blended with polypropylene and steel fiber to evaluate structural performance
In recent times, there has been a significant surge in interest regarding the usage of different materials to strengthen concrete. The capacity to enhance the tensile strength of concrete has made Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Concrete (HFRC) a subject of considerable interest. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of polypropylene and steel fibers on the strength of concrete. The variable parameters encompass varying proportions of steel and polypropylene fibers. A thorough experimental program, encompassing a total of 36 combinations, was executed with diverse HFRC mixtures. Based on past research, it is projected that fibers would perform better. One combination served as the control, while the other 35 combinations incorporated PPF in varying proportions (ranging from 0.2% to 1% of the cement’s mass) with an increment of 0.2%, along with steel fibers (ranging from 0.25% to 3% of the cement’s mass). Following this, split tensile strength tests (performed according to ASTM C 496) were carried out. Tensile testing was performed on specimens to observe the failure mode and tensile strength of the samples. The report ends by highlighting the research findings and outlining potential directions for additional study in this area. In conclusion, this study’s findings offer convincing evidence about the use of fibers in concrete

پنجاب کی دیہی ثقافت اور غلام الثقلین نقوی کا ناول ’’میرا گاؤں‘‘۔
Ghulam-us-Saqlain Naqvi is a renowned Urdu author. His novel "Mera Gaon" has a storyline that resonates with every village in Punjab, despite having the specific rural settings. While the novel does not delve into any particular philosophical themes, it beautifully portrays the simplicity, innocence, and philanthropic nature of the rural Punjab community. Naqvi skillfully captures the cultural diversity prevalent in the rural areas of Punjab. Within the backdrop of social and political fervor, the novel prominently showcases the prevailing trend of philanthropy and profound love for one's soil and homeland. The narrative also presents the villagers' adherence to their local traditions, their unbiased participation in each other's joys and sorrows, and their ways of organizing the ceremonial events.
Coal Consumption: An Alternate Energy Resource to Fuel Economic Growth in Pakistan
This study is an attempt to revisit the causal relationship between coal consumption and economic growth in case of Pakistan. The present study covers the period of 1974-2010. The direction of causality between the variable is investigated by applying the VECM Granger causality approach. Our findings have exposed that there exists bidirectional Granger causality between economic growth and coal consumption. The Cumulative Sum (CUSUM) and Cumulative Sum of Square (CUSUMSQ) diagrams have not found any structural instability over the period of 1974-2010
