HuD-A inhibits insulin translation.
In vitro translation assay of chimeric Ins2L-5’UTR-Luc-Ins2-3‘UTR (A) in presence of Long/Short (L/S) unlabeled RNA along with His-PABP (B) in presence of His-GFP or His-HuD A/B and D. Lower panel indicates the amount of luciferase and renilla RNA at the end of translation reaction detected by RT-PCR. Renilla was used as internal control for translation efficiency and His-GFP was used as nonspecific protein control and (C) in presence of recombinant PABP and/or HuD along with nonspecific protein (NSP). In all three experiments, the Luc/Renilla ratio was normalized and relative luciferase activity is expressed as a percentage of control and represented as bar graph. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan metode adaptasi dalam penerjemahan bahasa Arab ke dalam bahasa Indonesia pada buku Al Hud-Hud Yamtaliku T?j?n. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif yang berlandaskan pada teks buku AL Hud-Hud Yamtaliku T?j?n sebagai objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa penerapan metode penerjemahan adaptasi pada cerita anak Al Hud-Hud Yamtaliku T?j?nefektif untuk dilakukan. HUD-MOT-HUD FÖR ATT FRÄMJA AMNING. En litteraturstudie
Bakgrund: Fler grundutbildade sjuksköterskor jobbar på barnbördsavdelningar (BBavdelningar)
på grund av bristen på barnmorskor. Sjuksköterskor har en skyldighet att arbeta
evidensbaserat. Hud-mot-hud metoden vid amning har blivit ett mer välkänt och välanvänt
tillvägagångsätt. I Sverige använder sig fler och fler sjukhus av hud-mot-hud metoden med
riktlinjer från World Health Organization (WHO). För att på bästa sätt stötta föräldrarna att
använda det under BB-tiden och hemma, krävs det att sjuksköterskan har information om
varför det är viktigt samt dess påverkan på mamman och spädbarnet. Denna studie är gjord
för att underlätta för sjuksköterskor i sitt arbete, genom att ha samlad forskning. Syfte: Syftet
med litteraturstudien är att belysa effekten av hud-mot-hudkontakt vid amning hos fullgångna
och friska nyfödda spädbarn. Metod: Litteraturöversikt baserad på sju kvantitativa
originalartiklar från databaserna PubMed, Scopus och PsycInfo. Kvalitetsgranskning är
genomförd på samtliga sju artiklar. Resultat: Hud-mot-hud metoden vid amningen ökar
chansen till ett lyckat första amningstillfälle, tidigare amningsstart samt bättre
amningsfrekvens och sugförmåga. Hos mammor som använder hud-mot-hud metoden
dagligen ökar möjligheten till längre och exklusiv amning. Interaktionen mellan mamman
och spädbarnet främjas. Spädbarnet upplevs mindre irriterad och har ett mer stabilt humör.
Mammans självförtroende och självförmåga ökar. Smärtan postpartum minskar för
mammorna samt även smärtan vid episiotomi reparationen minskar. Slutsats: Det finns
mycket forskning som stödjer att hud-mot-hud efter födseln är viktigt samt att användning av
hud-mot-hud dagligen i minst ett år hjälper att gynna amningen. Hud-mot-hud metoden har
även en positiv effekt på mammans och spädbarnets egna hälsa. Det är viktigt för
sjuksköterskan att ha underlag och förståelse om varför detta är viktigt för att på bästa sätt
kunna motivera föräldrarna till fortsatt hud-mot-hud metod
Aircraft head-up display surface guidance system
The continues growth in aviation and passenger numbers is putting more
pressure on airports to become more efficient in order to reduce the number of
delays due to external factors such as weather, pilot deviation/errors and airport
maintenance traffic. As major hubs (e.g. Heathrow, New York or Paris) expand
in size to accommodate more traffic; aircraft surface movement and
management become more complex and the margin for error is even lower. The
traditional airport traffic management tools in large airports are increasingly
stretched to the limit in meeting safety and traffic throughput requirements. This
presents a huge challenge to the efficiency of airport operations because of the
increased number of departures and arrivals at those airports. New technology
for surface movement needs to be implemented in order to increase the safety
and airport capacity. The federal aviation authorities in the USA was first to
introduce the concept of Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control
System (A-SMGCS) to address this problem in commercial airdrome operations.
The system facilitates pilot recognition of the route designated by the traffic
controllers and uses warning information to make them aware of any potential
deviations/incursions. The system is introduced to enhance the efficiency of
surface movement by increasing the aircraft taxiing speed and reducing any
pilot errors during bad weather conditions.
This thesis focuses on the surface guidance system for aircraft equipped with
head-up display. A simulation model of the virtual environment using FlightGear
and Simulink is developed based on the study of a moving map and surface
guidance system for Head-Up Display (HUD) to assign the route, guide the
aircraft on the designated taxiway and avoid potential conflict with other aircraft.
A method of generating an airport in FlightGear and driving an airport moving
map to rotate and move is also illustrated which includes the data processing
flow chart and system flow chart. The Ordnance Survey National Grid and world
coordinate system is discussed and used to transform from GPS latitude and
longitude data to the position on Nation Grid.
There is also an explanation of the 3D viewing process to generate the virtual
taxiway geometries on the HUD. The communication between the traffic
console and airplane is also discussed
Bruk av hud-mot-hud-kontakt i norske nyfødt intensivavdelinger
Bakgrunn: Hud-mot-hud-kontakt har fordeler for foreldre og barn.Hensikt: Beskrive likheter og for- skjeller mellom nyfødt intensivav- delinger ved universitetssykehus og øvrige helseforetak, vedrørende praktisk og organisatorisk tilrette- legging og personalets oppfatninger om hud-mot-hud-kontakt.Metode: Spørreskjemaundersø- kelse, ett spørreskjema på avde- lingsnivå (N=19) og ett til et utvalg ansatte i avdelingene (N=463).Hovedresultat: Alle avdelingene og et utvalg ansatte (n=322; 69,5 prosent) besvarte undersøkelsen. Alle avdelingene tilrettela for hud- mot-hud og flertallet prøvde å få til den første kontakten så tidlig som mulig. Majoriteten av stabile pre- mature fikk hud-mot-hud-kontakt inntil seks timer per døgn. De viktig- ste argumentene for hud-mot-hud- kontakt, ifølge personalet, var posi- tive effekter på samspill, tilknytning og barnets utvikling. Bekymring for barnets stabilitet var den viktigste hindringen. I helseforetak somikke var universitetssykehus var forholdene best tilrettelagt, mens personalet ved universitetssykehu- sene var stort sett mer komfortable med å anvende hud-mot-hud for de sykeste barna. Rundt halvparten av alle avdelingene hadde retningslin- jer for og skriftlig foreldreinforma- sjon om hud-mot-hud-kontakt.Konklusjon: Funnene kan synliggjøre et behov for endring av nyfødtomsor- gen for å sikre at foreldre og barn får muligheten til å være sammen hele døgnet under hele sykehusoppholdet. </p

Holography for automotive applications: from HUD to LIDAR
Holography can offer unique solutions to the specific problems faced by automotive optical systems. Frequently, when possibilities have been exhausted using refractive and reflective designs, diffraction can come to the rescue by opening a new dimension to explore. Holographic optical elements (HOEs), for example, are thin film optics that can advantageously replace lenses, prisms, or mirrors. Head up display (HUD) and LIDAR for autonomous vehicles are two of the systems where our group have used HOEs to provide original answers to the limitations of classical optic. With HUD, HOEs address the problems of the limited field of view, and small eye box usually found in projection systems. Our approach is to recycle the light multiple times inside a waveguide so the combiner can be as large as the entire windshield. In this system, a hologram is used to inject a small image at one end of a waveguide, and another hologram is used to extract the image several times, providing an expanded eye box. In the case of LIDAR systems, non-mechanical beam scanning based on diffractive spatial light modulator (SLM), are only able to achieve an angular range of few degrees.
