These are the program notes of Ms. Hu, Chia Chen piano recital, held on May 20th, 2020, in the Fine Arts building FA4028 of the National Sun Yat-Sen University. The program of the piano recital includes Granados\ue2s Ochos Valses Poeticos, Beethoven\ue2s 32 Variations in C Minor, WoO. 80, and Chopin\ue2s Piano Sonata No.3 in B Minor, Op.58. These program notes will introduce how these three composers with different historical backgrounds compose piano pieces with their own characteristics

Nazeris damingshanus Hu & Li, sp. n. (Figs. 1–6) Type material. Holotype: CHINA: male: labeled ‘ China: Guangxi Prov., Wuming County, Damingshan N. R., 1200 m, 28-VII-2012, Hu & Song leg. ’. Paratypes: 2 males, 2 females, same label data as holotype; 3 males, 1 female, same data, except ‘ 1300 m, 29-VII-2012 ’; 2 males, 3 females, same data, except ‘ 1500 m, 29-VII-2012 ’; 11 males, 12 females, same data, except ‘ 1200–1300 m, 30-VII-2012 ’. Diagnosis. Body reddish brown, small in size; head with umbilicate punctation; abdominal tergites lacking microsculpture; aedeagal median lobe with round apex, and with a pair of round processes near apical 1/4. Description. Body length 4.1–4.7 mm; forebody length 2.3–2.5 mm. Male. Body (Fig. 1) reddish brown, with abdominal segments somewhat darker, antennal segments (except for basal two ones), maxillary palpi and legs (except for coxae) yellow. Head about as long as wide; postocular portion 1.72 times as long as eye length; with umbilicate punctation coarse and dense. Pronotum longer than wide (length/width = 1.15), narrower than (pronotum/head = 0.88) and as long as head; prosternum with strong longitudinal median carina extending to anterior margin. Elytra shorter than wide (length/ width = 0.89), shorter than (elytra/pronotum = 0.77) and as wide as pronotum. Abdomen elongate, tergites lacking microsculpture. Sternite VII (Fig. 2) with posterior margin slightly emarginated at middle, area anterior to emargination not depressed. Sternite VIII (Fig. 3) with posterior margin triangularly concaved at middle. Aedeagus (Figs. 4–6) well sclerotized; median lobe short and wide, with round laminae near apical 1/4 on ventral side; dorso-lateral apophysis strong, slightly curved mesally in dorsal or ventral view, distinctly curved dorsally in lateral view, extending much beyond apex of median lobe. Female. Sternites VII and VIII simple. Other characters similar to those of male. Distribution. South China: Guangxi. Remarks. The new species highly resembles N. luoi Hu & Li and N. tani Hu & Li in general appearance, but can be separated by the slightly darker coloration, and the different aedeagal structure. Etymology. Nazeris longilobus Hu & Li, sp. n. (Figs. 7–12) Type material. Holotype: CHINA: male: labeled ‘ China: Guangxi Prov., Wuming County, Damingshan N. R., 1200 m, 28-VII-2012, Hu & Song leg. ’. Paratypes: 1 male, 1 female, same label data as holotype; 1 male, same data, except ‘ 1500 m, 29-VII-2012 ’. Diagnosis. Body dark brown, large in size; head with umbilicate punctation; abdomen tergites lacking microsculpture; median lobe of aedeagus extremely elongate; dorso-lateral apophysis very slender. Description. Body length 6.8–7.3 mm; forebody length 3.5–3.7 mm. Male. Body (Fig. 7) dark brown, with labrum, coxae and basal two antennal segments reddish brown, the remaining antennal segments and maxillary palpi yellow, legs except for coxae yellowish brown to brown. Head longer than wide (length/width = 1.05); postocular portion 1.64 times as long as eye length; with umbilicate punctation coarse and dense. Pronotum longer than wide (length/width = 1.19), narrower than (pronotum/head = 0.88) and as long as head; prosternum with strong longitudinal median carina extending to anterior margin. Elytra shorter than wide (length/ width = 0.96), shorter than (elytra/pronotum = 0.81) and as wide as pronotum. Abdomen elongate, tergites lacking microsculpture. Sternite VII (Fig. 8) with posterior margin hardly emarginated at middle, area anterior posterior margin not depressed. Sternite VIII (Fig. 9) with posterior margin Vshaped concave at middle. Aedeagus (Figs. 10–12) well sclerotized; median lobe narrow and extremely elongate, slightly curved dorsally in lateral view; dorso-lateral apophysis very slender, slightly curved mesally in dorsal or ventral view and nearly straight in lateral view, extending to apical third of median lobe. Female. Sternites VII and VIII simple. Other characters similar to those of male. Distribution. South China: Guangxi. Remarks. The new species resembles N. grandis Hu & Li in general appearance, but can be separated by the slightly longer postocular portion, the more dense setae of the male sternite VII, and the completely different aedeagal form. Etymology. Estimation of evapotranspiration in the Mu Us Sandland of China
Evapotranspiration (ET) was estimated from 1981–2005 over Wushen County located in the Mu Us Sandland, China, by applying the Advection-Aridity model, which is based on the complementary relationship hypothesis. We used National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR), Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), and meteorological data. Our results show that the estimated daily ET was about 4.5% higher than measurements using an Eddy Covariance (EC) system after forcing energy balance closure over an alfalfa field from 22 July 2004 to 23 August 2004. At a regional scale, the estimated monthly ET was about 8.7% lower than measurements using the EC system after forcing energy balance closure over an alfalfa field in August 2004. These results were about 3.0% higher than ET measurements by microlysimeter over sand dunes during June 1988. From 1981 to 2005, the average annual ET and precipitation levels were 287 mm and 336 mm, respectively, in Wushen County. The average annual ET varied from 230 mm in western parts of Wushen County to 350 mm in eastern parts of the county. Both inter-annual and seasonal variations in ET were substantial in Wushen County. The annual ET was 200–400 mm from 1981–2005, and the seasonal pattern of ET showed a single peak distribution. The cumulative ET during the June–September 2004 period was 250 mm, which was 87% of the total annual ET. The annual ET, precipitation, and the maximum Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI<sub>max</sub>) showed positive correlations temporally and spatially

Nola nayongensis Chen & Zhang & Hu 2022, sp. nov.
Nola nayongensis sp. nov. (Figs 1–3) Type material. Holotype: male, Nayong county, 2109 m, Bijie, Guizhou Prov., 1.viii.2021, leg. Yanqing Hu & Yong Yu. Paratypes: 1 male, with the same data as the holotype; 1 male, Nayong county, 1731 m, Bijie, Guizhou Prov., 2.viii.2021, leg. Yanqing Hu & Yong Yu. The type specimens are deposited in Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST). Diagnosis. Externally, the new species closely resembles Nola pinratanoides Hu, Wang & Han, 2015 (Figs 4–6), but the main diagnostic differences are found as follows: ground color of the forewing of the new species is pale brown with the white patches along the costal margin and a punctiform postmedial line. The forewing of Nola pinratanoides has a brown ground color, the diffused grayish white pattern at costal margin and wing base with a filiform postmedial line. In male genitalia, the new species can be separated by the combination of the following characters: a distally divided valva, a basally wide ventral lobe of valva, a bigger and wider sacculus, an apically rounded saccus and a shorter spine on the aedeagus. The male genitalia of Nola pinratanoides has a medially divided valva, a basally narrower ventral lobe of valva, a smaller sacculus, an apically pointed saccus and a longer spine on the aedeagus. Description. Adult (Fig. 1). Wingspan 14–15 mm. Head white; collar brown; antenna brown, white at the base, bipectinate in male; labial palpi white. Thorax with blackish brown scales. Forewing ground color pale brown; costal margin with the white patches; vein Sc black at the base; basal line undistinguishable; antemedial line dark brown, arc-shaped; medial line undistinguishable; postmedial line consists of double lines, punctiform, wavy; subterminal line undistinguishable, but veins armed with dark and short lines; terminal line blackish brown; cilia pale blackish brown. Hind wing ground color pale grayish; discal spot pale black; cilia gray. Abdomen brown. Male genitalia. (Figs 2 & 3). Uncus not developed; tegumen of moderate size; valva divided distally; dorsal lobe of valva rounded apically, longer than ventral lobe of valva, costal margin sclerotized slightly; ventral valva relatively short, a small spine located at apex of valva, ventral margin sclerotized; harpe slender, incurved, tapering and pointed apically; sacculus elliptic, almost as long as the ventral lobe of valva; saccus V-shaped, rounded apically. Aedeagus cylindrical, with a short and curved spine apically; vesica without cornuti. Female. Unknown. Distribution. China (Guizhou). Etymology.
