Duty cycle generator for average model of buck converter with current-mode control - Using analog behavioral modeling of PSpice
This paper presents a duty cycle generator for an average model of buck converter with current-mode control, which can simultaneously deal with both the continuous conduction model (CCM) and the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), First, a duty cycle generator is mathematically derived, considering the transient-state of the current-loop. This technique plays an important role when the operating modes are changed under a considerable amount of step load change, Second, taking advantage of the analog behavioral modeling of PSpice, duty cycle generators for both the time and frequency domain analyses are built into a PSpice file, The accuracy of these models is verified through the computer simulations, which is compared to the actual circuit for the time domain analysis and the small signal model for the frequency analysis

Development of New Fluorescent Xanthines as Kinase Inhibitors
An efficient and versatile synthetic approach for the preparation of highly substituted xanthine derivatives has been developed by a combination of direct N7- and C8-arylation. With this method, diverse xanthine analogues were prepared and potent kinase inhibitors could be identified. For example, compound 8a Inhibits PI3Ks and proliferation in T47D tumor cells. In addition, these xanthine-based kinase inhibitors exhibited significant fluorescence emission in a concentration-dependent response

EXPERIMENTAL-VERIFICATION OF SUPERPLASTIC SHEET-METAL FORMING ANALYSIS BY THE FINITE-ELEMENT METHOD
The numerical result for superplastic sheet-forming simulation is compared with the experimental result to verify the validity of the finite-element code developed. The code calculates the optimum pressure cycle, the deformed shapes, and the distributions of the strain and strain-rate in the blow-forming processes. The calculation deals with the maximization of the strain-rate sensitivity, the protection of the localized deformation, the consistency of the desired strain-rate, and the control of the hour-glass mode and locking phenomenon. The comparison demonstrates the validity of the present algorithm and its results, especially in respect of the optimum pressure cycle, where there is only a slight difference between the two results
Fluorescent phosphoinositide 3-kinase inhibitors suitable for monitoring of intracellular distribution
The monitoring of the drug behavior and distribution in biological system can provide information whether drug reaches its desired target, and a biological rationale for the design of new therapeutics. We have developed a family of potent fluorescent PI3K alpha inhibitors in which part of the fluorophore was engineered to be a pharmacophore capable of inhibiting PI3K alpha. These xanthine derivatives are characterized by a donor-acceptor molecular structure, and changes in the electronic properties of the two variation points at R(1) and R(2) give rise to notable bathochromic shifts in the lambda(em), (abs) and increase the value of Phi(F). Further, we illustrated the use of E2 (PI3K alpha/IC(50) = 0.068 mu M, T47D cell viability: IC(50) = 0.9 mu M) to block cancer cell proliferation and to monitor its subcellular localization by fluorescence microscopy. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
