Model based defect characterization in composites
No full textWork is reported on model-based defect characterization in CFRP composites. The work utilizes computational models of the interaction of NDE probing energy fields (ultrasound and thermography), to determine 1) the measured signal dependence on material and defect properties (forward problem), and 2) an assessment of performance-critical defect properties from analysis of measured NDE signals (inverse problem). Work is reported on model implementation for inspection of CFRP laminates containing multi-ply impact-induced delamination, with application in this paper focusing on ultrasound. A companion paper in these proceedings summarizes corresponding activity in thermography. Inversion of ultrasound data is demonstrated showing the quantitative extraction of damage properties.This proceeding may be downloaded for personal use only. Visie Noord-Hollandse kust: Intern afwegingskader en inbreng voor de regionale kustdiscussie
No full textDe kust is in beweging, zowel letterlijk als figuurlijk. Letterlijk door eb en vloed, zeespiegelstijging, kustafslag en het ontstaan van strandvlakten. Figuurlijk door de discussies over plannen voor natuurontwikkeling, bebouwing en jaarronde exploitatie van strandpaviljoens. Hoe met deze bewegingen het best kan worden omgegaan, moet worden vastgelegd in beleid: internationaal, nationaal, regionaal en lokaal. Hierbij zijn vele partijen betrokken, zowel overheden als bewoners, recreanten, ondernemers en natuurbeschermers. Voor u ligt de Visie Noord-Hollandse kust van een van de betrokken partijen, de directie Noord-Holland van de Rijkswaterstaat. Deze visie is het resultaat van een analyse waarbij, op basis van de rollen en taken van de directie, de bestaande kustsituatie en de te verwachten en mogelijke ontwikkelingen daarin naast elkaar zijn gezet. Deze analyse heeft geleid tot een mogelijke toekomstige zonering van de Noord-Hollandse kust, op basis van een viertal gekozen kusttypen. De visie is bedoeld als basis voor de bijdrage van de directie in de regionale en landelijke discussies over het kustbeleid en kan hierna door de directie Noord-Holland worden gebruikt als richtsnoer, aanvullend op het vastgestelde beleid, voor het beoordelen van besluiten, plannen en beleidsnota's van anderen (overheden en niet-overheden). Het is zeker niet de bedoeling om met deze visie een blauwdruk voor ontwikkelingen in de Noord-Hollandse kustzone neer te leggen. Wel hopen we hiermee een impuls te geven aan de dialoog met alien die zich betrokken voelen bij het kustbeleid
