Şeref, Fulya (Dogus Author) -- Veliev, Oktay A. (Dogus Author)In this article we obtain the sharp asymptotic formulas for the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the non-self-adjoint operators generated by a system of the Sturm-Liouville equations with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions. Using these asymptotic formulas, we find a condition on the potential for which the root functions of these operators form a Riesz basis

Özaksoy, Fulya (Dogus Author)This paper aims to analyze Post-Keynesian Phillips Curve by using non-linear ARDL approach and non-linear Granger causality method for the period from 1957 to 2015 in Canada. This study is differed from other empirical paper by using non-linear ARDL method which determined there is long-run asymmetric relationship between the selected macroeconomic variables for Canada. Canada exhibits bi-directional causality relationship between inflation-unemployment, unemployment-economic growth and inflation-economic growth which refers that the country has flexible labor market

Özaksoy Sonüstün, Fulya (Dogus Author) -- Conference full text: 34th International Physics Congress on Turkish Physical Society, TPS 2018; Bodrum Municipality - Herodot Culture CenterKonacik-Bodrum; Turkey; 5 September 2018 through 9 September 2018.In this study, we attempt to test chaotic behavior of selected the variables and to determine chaotic relation between economic growth and coal consumption for the period from January, 1973 to March, 2018 in the USA by using Largest Lyapunov Exponents, Chaotic Causality perspectives. In this regard, firstly, it is aimed to identify nonlinear pattern of economic growth and coal consumption by BDS test. And secondly, it is purposed to determine chaotic behaviour of the analyzed series by Lyapunov Exponent. Further, chaotic causality is analyzed for this period. The analysis results demonstrate that coal consumption fluctuations have crucial effects on the USA's economic growth in the long term

Özaksoy Sonüstün, Fulya (Dogus Author) -- Conference full title: 6th International Eurasian Conference on Mathematical Sciences and Applications, IECMSA 2017; Budapest; Hungary; 15 August 2017 through 18 August 2017.The fluctuations in oil prices are very complicated and therefore, it is unable to predict its effects on economies. For modelling complex system of oil prices, linear economic models are not sufficient and efficient tools. Thus, in recent years, economists attached great attention to non-linear structure of oil prices. For analyzing this relationship, GARCH types of models were used in some papers. Distinctively from the other papers, in this study, we aimed to analyze chaotic pattern of oil prices. Thus, it was used the Lyapunov Exponents and Hennon Map to determine chaotic behavior of oil prices for the selected time period

Sonüstün Özaksoy, Fulya (Dogus Author)This work aims to analyse the cointegration and the causality relationship between inflation and unemployment by using nonlinear A.R.D.L. and two popular nonlinear causality tests for the period from 1960 to 2016 in Japan, Turkey, the U.S.A. and from 1970 to 2016 in France. This study complements the previous empirical papers. However, it differs from the existing literature with simultaneous use of nonlinear A.R.D.L. and causality methods. Nonlinear A.R.D.L. determined that there is a long run relationship between inflation and unemployment; between economic growth and unemployment for Japan, France, the U.S.A. and Turkey

Özaksoy Sonüstün, Fulya (Dogus Author)This article investigates the chaotic relationship among inflation rate, unemployment rate and oil prices over the period January, 1974-October, 2018 in the USA. This study complements the previous studies on this subject. However, it differs from the existing literature in examination of inflation-unemployment trade-off by a neural network model in which oil prices are considered as an exogenous variable, and in analyzing the chaotic causality relation among the variables by Hristu-Varsakelis and Kyrtsou and Bai nonlinear causality tests. The results first suggested by a class of neural network model, which was the multi-layer perceptron (MLP), pointed out an important relation among the analyzed variables. Accordingly, oil price changes have substantial effect on unemployment and inflation. Following, the empirical findings of Hristu-Varsakelis and Kyrtsou and Bai nonlinear causality tests show that there is a unidirectional chaotic relation from oil price to inflation, from oil price to unemployment and from inflation to unemployment

The Role Of Gut Microbiota In Autism Spectrum Disorder

Human microbiota are colonies of microorganisms located in different parts of the human body with diverse functions. Healthy gut microbiota comprises differing ratios of microoganisms wholly contributing to metabolic and other molecular reactions in a healthy, functioning body. After the demonstration of the bidirectional interaction between the central nervous system and gut microbiota through neuroendocrine, neuroimmune, and autonomic nervous mechanisms, investigations have been started on the microbiota-gut-brain axis in psychiatric disorders. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), which is a neurodevelopmental disorder of early childhood, is one of these disorders. Most of such studies were cross-sectional and mainly investigated the bacterial species. Changes in gut microbiota composition and the leaky gut syndrome are some of the hypotheses proposed to explain the core symptoms and gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms of ASD. Probiotics, prebiotics, fecal microbiota transplantation, diet have been proposed as treatment options. However, the role of microbiota in diagnosis, followup, and treatment is not yet clear. The bidirectional interaction between central nervous system and intestinal microbiota makes it difficult to establish the cause-effect relationship. The current data on microbiota may be useful to plan patient-specific treatment in autistic children with GI symptoms. This article aims to review the results of the studies on microbiota in animal models and children and discuss the emerging clinical relationship of ASD and gut microbiota.WoSScopu
