Il contributo approfondisce, attraverso i disegni d'Archivio, il progetto di recupero e adeguamento funzionale della preesistenza edilizia e il nuovo nucleo a completamento dell’isolato urbano realizzato in più fasi, a partire dal 1964, dagli architetti Benevolo, Giura Longo e Melograni .The block of via dei Sabelli-via dei Reti seems to embody the complex urban relationships and the multiple functional expansions of the University City within the San Lorenzo district. It summarizes in a time span, which goes from the second post-war period to the present day, three ways of approaching the Sapienza project within the city of Rome: the functional adaptation of historic buildings, the architectural extension of existing offices, the new edification. The Institute of Child Neuropsychiatry, directed by prof. Giovanni Bollea until 1989, is an internationally recognized center of excellence, commonly called "Via dei Sabelli" as evidence of its identification with the place of foundation. The contribution explores, through the drawings of the Archives, the project of the new nucleus by the architects Benevolo, Giura Longo and Melograni, starting in 1964

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

This work introduces readers to the use of BL in educational institutions. A theoretical framework will be built, in which the latest developments of BL in higher education environments are reported, with an examination of the digital services that are made available to teachers and students during the pandemic. The main purpose is to present a critical reflection on the possibilities that BL has offered during the COVID-19 pandemic and what it will be able to offer in the post-pandemic age. The crucial aspects of digital culture in the contemporary world of education and training are highlighted, outlining an essential theoretical path that emphasizes the substantial ad-vantages and tools offered by technology. A definition of BL is provided below, based on the definitions given by authors who have received the most international credit for their work. The study is presented as an exploratory investigation of the blended model for higher education, and is articulated with various references to the most recent strategies implemented by educational institutions. The main reference is the aforementioned Horizon 2021 Report, published by EDUCAUSE. Based on the results, we can gauge the willingness of educational institutions to invest in the design of new educational paths that use a blended methodology, to provide concrete support to teachers to fill in any gaps with respect to their digital skills. The reflection is supported by concrete examples that demonstrate some good practices that were followed at international universities, and provides as an outcome, an updated list of best practices using which it is possible to stimulate a constructive debate, innovative study, and re-search projections for the global scientific community

In vitro propagation of Tanacetum cinerariaefolium (Trev.) Schultz-Bip.

Pyrethrum (Tanacetum cinerarifolium (Trev.) Schultz-Bip.) is a species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to Albania and Dalmatia1 (Heywood, 1976), although currently the main pyrethrum producers on the world market are Kenya and Australia. The importance of this species is due to the pyrethrins, substances of recognised insecticidal value, extracted from the dried flowers. In the last years, there has been an increasing interest in its introduction in cultivation in the Salento area (most southern area of Puglia Region), due to the economic and environmental advantages. Really, the cultivation of pyrethrum in the Salento area had already been suggested at the beginning of the 1900s and some experimental activities were carried out in Puglia in the early 2000s with encouraging results, using seed from Dalmatia2,3. Despite these good results, the supply of propagation material to guarantee the production of plants with good productive and qualitative characteristics is still limited. Therefore, it is considered particularly interesting to undertake research that could contribute to develop a program of seed production and clonal propagation. The aim of the present study was to develop an efficient in vitro propagation protocol for Tanacetum cinerarifolium (Trev.) Schultz-Bip, to obtain a large number of high quality plants. Seeds were germinated in Petri dishes and the seedlings were grown on a nutrient semi-solid growth medium4 supplemented with sucrose (20 mg/l) and three different phytoregulators (Benzylaminopurine (BAP), Thidiazuron (TDZ) and Metatopoline (MT)) to establish the in vitro conditions and to induce the multiplication of the shoots. The growth medium enriched with MT (0.5 mg/l) gave the best mean multiplication index (5). Three different concentrations of indol-3-butyric acid (IBA) were added to the growth medium to induce rooting: 0.1 mg/l, 0.5 mg/l and 1 mg/l. The higher concentration of IBA resulted in a greater number of roots at the expense of their length, while the lower concentration of 0.1 mg/l gave longer but fewer roots. This study developed an effective and reproducible protocol for micropropagation of pyrethrum

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Online Quantitative Research Methodology: Reflections on Good Practices and Future Perspectives

The methodology of quantitative research in psychology was essentially addressed in the presence to investigate certain dimensions in training such as motivation, perception, etc. Since 2019, after the pandemic, it has been necessary to move the surveys online as new tools. The researcher would like to investigate this phenomenon of sampling, research designs of the instruments validated in the last three years which is 2019–2021. Investigating these concerns has allowed researchers to perform systematic studies on the effects of online teaching on learning, social participation, and feeling of community. The specific setting in which the phenomena were investigated altered the theoretical framework of the research designs. The techniques and methods of data gathering are fundamentally innovated once the research issue has been conceived. Even the tools used to measure the variables involved in the researched processes are improvised or subjected to rewriting or alteration. The population has changed: subjects are sampled in different ways, and there could be a considerably higher number of subjects to search. As a result, there's a chance for new inaccuracies that weren't present in face-to-face surveys or previous online research. As a result, the statistical analysis of the data must take care to avoid reasoning errors. Validity, as well as the processes’ reliability and replicability, remain top priorities in these researches. Furthermore, the methodologies of experimental or quasi-experimental research, the correlation research approach, the questionnaire survey, the interview, and participant observation have all required redefining of their internal characteristics. In light of the diversity of the landscape investigated, the researcher made a comprehensive evaluation of the literature on quantitative research technique in connection to online training

Progettazioni sperimentali. Il recupero dei siti di cava: strategie di scala vasta. Ipotesi per il Parco dell'Appia Antica

    No full text
