Plasma Electron Source with a Beam of Large Cross Section / V. A. Gruzdev, V. G. Zalesskii, D. A. Antonovich, Yu. P. Golubev (Polotsk State University)We present the design and characteristics of a plasma electron source based on a discharge in crossed E × H fields, which provides the formation of technological high‐energy beams with a large cross section in steady‐state and pulsed regimes, and consider conditions for excitation of a high‐current anomalous glow discharge forming an emitting plasma in a pulsed regime

Highly Regular Nanostructuring of Si Surface by Ultrashort Laser Pulses

    No full text
Sub-MHz repetition rate femtosecond laser pulses produce extremely regular periodic surface structures on silicon surface due to competition between ultrafast heating and electron-emission. They allow manufacturing of novel devices for solar, optoelectronic, and biomedical applications

Ultrafast laser texturing on Si with burst-mode picosecond laser pulses

    No full text
Picosecond laser-induced periodic surface structures (PLIPSS) have been fabricated on surface of Si in uniform and burst-mode regimes at a high speed. The effects of burst-mode respect to uniform one are examined in term of chemical, mechanical and morphological properties

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    No full text
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
