Témoignages franco-allemands de la migration européenne.Dans le cadre du projet interdisciplinaire franco-allemand “Migratio et memoria“ (Romanisches Seminar der Albert Ludwigs Universitaet Freiburg, S Pfaender et Laboratoire Parole et Langage, CNRS, UMR 6057, Aix-en-Provence, S Kriegel), nous avons enregistré des entretiens spontanés avec des personnes âgées, locuteurs de différentes variétés de français ayant un parcours de migration au cours de leur vie. Sliding motion modulates stiffness and friction coefficient at the surface of tissue engineered cartilage
Objective: functional cartilage tissue engineering aims to generate grafts with a functional surface, similar to that of authentic cartilage. Bioreactors that stimulate cell-scaffold constructs by simulating natural joint movements hold great potential to generate cartilage with adequate surface properties. In this study two methods based on atomic force microscopy (AFM) were applied to obtain information about the quality of engineered graft surfaces. For better understanding of the molecule-function relationships, AFM was complemented with immunohistochemistry.Methods: bovine chondrocytes were seeded into polyurethane scaffolds and subjected to dynamic compression, applied by a ceramic ball, for 1 h daily [loading group 1 (LG1)]. In loading group 2 (LG2), the ball additionally oscillated over the scaffold, generating sliding surface motion. After 3 weeks, the surfaces of the engineered constructs were analyzed by friction force and indentation-type AFM(IT-AFM). Results were complemented and compared to immunohistochemical analyses.Results: the loading type significantly influenced the mechanical and histological outcomes. Constructs of LG2 exhibited lowest friction coefficient and highest micro- and nanostiffness. Collagen type II and aggrecan staining were readily observed in all constructs and appeared to reach deeper areas in loaded (LG1, LG2) compared to unloaded scaffolds. Lubricin was specifically detected at the top surface of LG2.Conclusions: this study proposes a quantitative AFM-based functional analysis at the micrometer- and nanometer scale to evaluate the quality of cartilage surfaces. Mechanical testing (load-bearing) combined with friction analysis (gliding) can provide important information. Notably, sliding-type biomechanical stimuli may favor (re-)generation and maintenance of functional articular surfaces and support the development of mechanically competent engineered cartilage

In der Realität Roms passiert ein Wunder, das plötzlich eine Projektion des Unaussprechlichen wird. Dantes „Göttliche Komödie“, die in deutenden Beschreibungen wie eine literarische Fiktion ekphrastisch dargestellt wird, ist plötzlich eine reale Himmelfahrt. Der vorliegende Aufsatz zeigt, wie die Autorin Unaussprechliches, Jenseits, Wunder und vor allem die praesens absentia Gottes literarisiert, versprachlicht und wie sie diesen transzendenten Ereignissen einen Anschein der Wahrhaftigkeit verleiht.Sibylle Lewitscharoff in her novel “Das Pfingstwunder” compiles this world and the hereafter. In the reality of Rome, a miracle happens that suddenly becomes a projection of the inexpressible. Dante’s “Divine Comedy”, which is portrayed in interpretive descriptions as literary fiction, is suddenly a real Ascension. The present essay shows how Sibylle Lewitscharoff literatized and showed the inexpressible, afterlife, miracle and above all praesens absentia of God, and how the author gives these transcendent events a semblance of truthfulness

sometimes is put together with Elsa Beskow. The author compares works of both
artists. She focuses on important differences, so as: the creation of the children’s hero,
the role of the nature and floristic motives, the cultural model and the position of
women in their books and the symbolism. The comparison is showing the wealth
and the uniqueness of Sibylle von Olfers’ artistic imagination and the complexity of
the motive of plants, flowers, fairies and dwarfs in the literature for children in the
beginning of the 20th century
Sibylle Berg, das Zusammenleben und die Einsamkeit : Eine Autorin untersucht das Zusammenleben und die Einsamkeit unserer Zeit
Die deutsch-schweizerische Autorin und Dramatikerin Sibylle Berg ist seit ihrem Romandebüt 1997 mit „Ein paar Leute suchen das Glück und lachen sich tot“ im deutschsprachigen Kulturraum sehr besprochen worden. Präsente Themen in ihrer Schriftstellerei sind nicht zuletzt die Bedingungen des Zusammenlebens und die bedrohenden Gefühle von Einsamkeit in der gegenwärtigen Gesellschaft. Durch Studien von vor allem Sibylle Bergs erstem Roman und dem 2019 erschienenen „GRM – Brainfuck“ wird in dieser Arbeit untersucht, wie die Autorin sich mit den oben erwähnten Themen beschäftigt. Problematisiert werden in den beiden Romanen sowohl die direkte soziale Interaktion zwischen einzelnen Individuen als auch die Beziehungen aus einer weiteren Perspektive: bespielsweise zwischen ganzen sozialen Schichten, Gruppen verschiedener ethnischer Zugehörigkeiten und Generationen. Die Schilderungen tragen thematisch und sprachlich offenbare Merkmale der gegenwärtigen Popliteratur und der ausgesprochenen feministischen Haltung der Autorin. Spürbar sind aber zugleich intertextuelle Hinweise auf frühere literarische Epochen.Since the publishing of her first novel, „Ein paar Leute suchen das Glück und lachen sich tot“ (“A Few People Search For Happiness And Laugh Themselves To Death") in 1997, the German-swiss author Sibylle Berg has attracted great attention in the literary life of the German-speaking world. Amongst the themes in her works are not the least those concerning the conditions of coexistence and of the threatening solitude in the contemporary society. Through the study of especially Sibylle Bergs first novel and “GRM – Brainfuck”, the later published in 2019, this work aims to investigate how the author is dealing with these themes. In both novels Berg problematizes the direct social interaction between individuals as well as relationships in a broader sense: for example, between different social strata and people of different ethnicity or generations. The depictions bear the obvious thematic and linguistic marks of contemporary so called popliterature and the outspoken feminist attitude of the Author. Noticeable are, however, also intertextual references to earlier literary periods

“Who was the Lion?” Sibylle Lewitscharoff’s "Blumenberg"
The eponymous protagonist of Sibylle Lewitscharoff’s novel "Blumenberg" (2011) pays a tribute to Hans Blumenberg, one of the recent thinkers who have most appealed to non-specialists—not least because of his immense erudition. The book "Lions", to which the novel openly refers (5), is crucial to understanding how Lewitscharoff approaches Blumenberg’s life and thought in her book. In fact, although the author claims in her acknowledgments that “any attempts to find correct Blumenberg quotations will be in vain” (219), she nevertheless reveals herself well acquainted with fundamental aspects of his theories such as the notion of fictionality, the metaphor of the cave and the thesis of the legitimacy of the New Age. Echoes of his phrases and formulations, partial quotations of sentences from his works, can be easily discerned between the lines. During the feline’s visit to Blumenberg, the sphere of the wonderful and miraculous breaks into the philosopher’s somewhat limited and ordered scholarly existence, becoming a source of irritation

Effect of reduced oxygen tension and long-term mechanical stimulation on chondrocyte-polymer constructs
We have investigated the influence of long-term confined dynamic compression and surface motion under low oxygen tension on tissue-engineered cell-scaffold constructs. Porous polyurethane scaffolds (8 mm x 4 mm) were seeded with bovine articular chondrocytes and cultured under normoxic (21% O(2)) or hypoxic (5% O(2)) conditions for up to 4 weeks. By means of our joint-simulating bioreactor, cyclic axial compression (10-20%; 0.5 Hz) was applied for 1 h daily with a ceramic ball, which simultaneously oscillated over the construct surface (+/-25 degrees; 0.5 Hz). Culture under reduced oxygen tension resulted in an increase in mRNA levels of type II collagen and aggrecan, whereas the expression of type I collagen was down-regulated at early time points. A higher glycosaminoglycan content was found in hypoxic than in normoxic constructs. Immunohistochemical analysis showed more intense type II and weaker type I collagen staining in hypoxic than in normoxic cultures. Type II collagen gene expression was slightly elevated after short-term loading, whereas aggrecan mRNA levels were not influenced by the applied mechanical stimuli. Of importance, the combination of loading and low oxygen tension resulted in a further down-regulation of collagen type I mRNA expression, contributing to the stabilization of the chondrocytic phenotype. Histological results confirmed the beneficial effect of mechanical loading on chondrocyte matrix synthesis. Thus, mechanical stimulation combined with low oxygen tension is an effective tool for modulating the chondrocytic phenotype and should be considered when chondrocytes or mesenchymal stem cells are cultured and differentiated with the aim of generating cartilage-like tissue in vitro
