Partnership law and its spawn: Did LLP deliver on its promises?

The final version is available from the publisher via the DOI in this record.Institutional theory discusses whether organizations enhance their survival by converging around socially legitimated forms. This study contributes to this literature by examining the evolution of strategic choices among mid-tier and large accounting firms. The results show that the change in percentage of income from audit activities is different for the partnership and LLP firms over the period 2005 - 2013. Inflation adjusted fees per partner are not statistically significantly different from 2005 to 2013. The results suggest that a spread of offices, specialisation and the degree of hierarchy lead to efficiencies of operations and wealth enhancement (through changes in fees per partner) but LLP choice per se does not necessarily increase fees

No full textThis review aims to discuss the book Politique des contes. Il était une fois Perrault aujourd’hui... by Alice Brière-Haquet. In this book, after replacing Charles Perrault’s tales in their original context of publication, the author shows how contemporary writers use these tales to put them in resonance with our current times and to express our era and its modernity. That way, she puts an interesting light on the work of Perrault, but also on the challenges involved today in the rewriting of Perrault’s tales. Moreover, her work shows that the parodic rewriting of Perrault’s tales is particularly alive today (the large corpus of these rewritings holds the attention by its ambition and its diversity) but also that the process of rewriting tales is not a specific practice of our contemporary era : indeed, Perrault himself used it in order to invite his readers to interpret political discourses of his time

production for the development of gas sensing
devices from unsubstituted and hexadecafluorinated metal phthalocyanines
(MPc, M = Fe2+ and Co2+) is explained. The preparation
of sensor devices by the direct growth of nanowires on interdigitated
electrodes by the vapor transport of the synthesized MPc precursors
is discussed, emphasizing a single-step approach. Results using as-prepared
devices for the detection of NH3 and NO2 in
the ppb range are shown. In agreement with similar MPc sensing materials,
response and recovery times fitted using a double-exponential model
gave two rate constants: a short one, on the order of minutes for
concentrations above 500 ppb, and a long one, on the order of hours.
These rate constants are suitable for environmental monitoring of
gases in recovery zones, where longer exposure times are critical
in the sampling process. Our F16FePc-NW sensor prototypes
show a ∼10% normalized response toward NH3 at 40
ppb for a measuring time of ∼2.5 h at room temperature and
measurable responses to concentrations as low as 5 ppb, rendering
them applicable to environmental studies

La formacion del emprendimiento un elemento en el contexto internacional

Colombia, es uno de lospaíses latinoamericanos con más altos indicadores de emprendimiento endiversos campos. Sin embargo, estos indicadores también permiten identificar que losemprendedores en gran parte no son egresados universitarios, sino mayormente empresarios empíricos que a fuerza de voluntad han forjado un negocio o ente productivo. Esta realidad nos lleva a la necesidad de analizar como promover en el estudianteuniversitario la disciplina del emprendimiento.Para los sectores económicos y sociales del país, sería de gran aporte que los empresarios cuenten con una formación sólida y consistente que les permita la generación de empresas de valor a largo tiempo, que no solo forjen empleo, sino tambiénbienes y servicios de competencia internacional. Por lo anterior estudiaremos variosconceptos y percepciones con el fin de evaluar la situación actual del emprendimientoen la comunidad universitaria y como promover el mismo, para generar valor en elcontexto de la educación superior
