Alekseev, the author traces the main milestones of the scientific biography of the prominent historian who is a well-known specialist in the field of national history and the theory of historical process and the founder of the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The paper considers the main stages of the formation of the scientist, his scientific, organizational and administrative activities in the field of historical science. The author highlights the scientific results of Academician V.V. Alekseev that made him well known in Russia and abroad, his theoretical and methodological studies and such large blocks of scientific research as the history of Russian modernizations, the phenomenon of Russian regionalism, the history of metallurgy of the Urals and industrial heritage. The article also focuses on the features of the scientific method of V.V. Alekseev and his merits in the formation of the documentary base for historical research

No full textReconstruction has been made, the data have been summarized and analyzed, which characterize the strain fields of different areas of Mesozoides of Northeast of Asia (Verkhoyano-Kolymian folded area). Strain fields of the North Kharaulakh and Arga-Tas ridge have been investigated based on area kinematic mapping; for internal areas (Middle Verkhoyania and Cherskogo zone) direct and indirect published data on fault kinamatics have been attracted. Discrimination of strain fields responsible for production of basic folded structure as well as pre- and post-folding fields has been carried out. Orientations obtained for axes of the main stresses describe multistage spatially heterogeneous conditions of Mesozoides deformation under conditions of pressure, plastic and fragile tension and, to less extent, displacement. Pre-folding stretching has been found in the Verkhoyan series of the North Kharaulakh; conditions of post-folding fragile tension are widely distributed in different domains of the Cherskogo zone. Deformational conditions being reconstructed for North Kharaulakh and Arga-Tas ridge coincide with contemporary field of strains detected by seismological data

No full textOn the basis of the structural analysis of folds the complex deformation profile in the Hust—Ivano-Frankivsk (central part of Ukrainian Carpathians) transsection is constructed. It characterises distribution of non-coaxial flow deformation on a spectrum of parameters: angles of an axis of compression and simple shear, sizes of horizontal compression and deformational ellipses. Horizontal shortening shows a series of peaks over more or less levelled general background of double compression. The most intensive deformation, expressed in the maximum sizes of horizontal and general compression (to 4 times), is dated for area of Internal Nappes (basically the Dukljansky zone) and to the termination of the Krosnensky zone. There are also indications on growth of deformation in back of Internal Nappes and in front of Skibovaya zone. Deformation as a whole goes down to the central part of a profile occupied by Krosnensky zone where conditions of almost horizontal main compression are marked also. Reconstruction of the primary sizes of structural zones along of Hust—Ivano-Frankivsk profile in the interval of Porkuletsky—Skibovoj zones as a result of returning in a initial condition before deformation of non-coaxial flow has increased in 2.4 times, having reached 183 km that it is necessary to consider as the bottom estimation of initial width which should be increased at the expense of components of bend folding. Possibilities which are given by model of non-coaxial flow for reconstruction on the scale of full deep crossing of Carpathians are short estimated for what approach of homogeneous deformation on depth has been used: 2-time size of horizontal reduction, and also angle of an axis of compression 20є are accepted as averages. Obtained contours of the Krosnensky zone of profile DOBRE-3 shows convergence with results of application of a method of the balanced cross-sections
Dry eye disease in keratoconus: etiology and medical treatment

This paper reviews published data on the studies on keratoconus associated with dry eye disease (DED) presentations. Despite the lack of a direct correlation between DED and keratoconus, many studies have demonstrated that keratoconus is associated with DED in more than 80% of cases. The author describes major endogenous and exogenous (inflammatory, immune/allergic, mechanical, neuropathic) factors triggering the development and association of these conditions. Approaches to the medical treatment of disorders resulting from the association of these entities are discussed. The primary management strategy implies tear film and ocular surface protection with tear substitutes based on the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. In the lack of the effect of tear substitutes or in rigid gas permeable contact lens wearers, gel-based dexpanthenol in high concentrations is recommended. This treatment significantly increases drug bioavailability and prolongs the ocular surface reparation. Scleral contact lenses ensuring intact corneal epithelium and high visual acuity in irregular astigmatism caused by keratoconus are also used for corneal protection and DED therapy.
