Harry L. Goldsmith, Ph.D.
In honor of Dr. Harry L. Goldsmith\u27s 75th birthday, we present a collection of articles from his collaborators and colleagues to commemorate Harry\u27s outstanding contributions to the field of Biorheology. On any particular day, bioengineers around the world may find themselves fortunate enough to peer through a microscope to observe molecular or cellular level phenomena manifested before their eyes. Such observations of single molecule mechanics or blood flows or cellular deformation remind us of the power of clever experimental design and rigorous theoretical constructs as well as the complex beauty of dynamical systems in nature. In this spirit, the investigations reported in this issue of the Annals entitled Cellular Biorheology and Biomechanics have followed down many of the research paths pioneered by Dr. Harry Goldsmith
The Failure of Internet Freedom
Jack L. Goldsmith, the Henry L. Shattuck Professor of Law at Harvard University, delivers the annual Brainerd Currie Memorial Lecture on The Failure of Internet Freedom. Goldsmith makes the case that the pursuit of internet regulation policies encouraging individual flourishing, technological innovation, and economic prosperity in the United States have had disastrous consequences abroad and domestically, where a relatively unregulated internet is being used for ill, to a point that threatens basic American institutions.
Goldsmith is the author, most recently, of The Terror Presidency: Law and Judgment Inside The Bush Administration (W.W. Norton 2007), as well as other books and articles on many topics related to terrorism, national security, international law, conflicts of law, and internet law.

Im Memoriam: Professor Michael Goldsmith
Michael Goldsmith, the Woodruff J. Deem Professor of Law, Brigham Young University, was more than a protege. Over the years, he became a close colleague and a true and long-lasting friend.
Mike was unlucky to fall from the ravishes of ALS. Yet he was lucky in life. In the end, people are all that count, not scholarship, public service, or fame. On this count, he was uncommonly lucky.
