Due to their isolation, Eparses Islands provide a valuable opportunity to investigate biodiversity in the absence of anthropogenic influence. The Glorieuses Archipelago (11° 35’ S, 47° 18’ E) forms part of the Eparses Islands in the north of Mozambique Channel (Western Indian Ocean). The inventory and abundance assessment of the commercial holothurians (Echinodermata), were carried out in October 2015 as part of the PANAMAG (PAtrimoine NAturel MArin des Glorieuses) programme. Specimens were identified, photographed and measured in length, on the reef slopes at 22 sites down to 20 m, the inner slopes at 3 sites and the reef flats at 32 sites. Given the worldwide overexploitation of holothurians, it is important to know their present diversity and distribution in such remote areas. The commercial holothurians included 12 species in Glorieuses Islands. Their abundances are low in comparison with some other islands in the SWOI such as Mayotte and Réunion Island. Bohadschia atra is the most common and abundant, as in Mayotte and Banc du Geyser, with an average of 118 (± 60.6) individuals by hectare in the inner slopes. Measurements of the length of B. atra have shown that the individuals are smaller on reef flats and inner slopes and bigger on the reef slopes. Actinopyga miliaris was found for the first time in Glorieuses, however,
Holothuria fuscogilva, species with high commercial value, has not been found since 2011. The abundances of holothurians are very low in the reef flats of Lys Island, particularly Holothuria nobilis (0.3 ind/ha ± 2.6) and
Thelenota ananas (0 ind/ha). They are species with high commercial values and listed as “endangered” in the IUCN red list indicating an impact of the illegal fisheries in this area of the Glorieuses Islands. Of all the reef flats of the Glorieuses, Lys Island has the lowest abundance of B. atra, a species with medium commercial value.
Thelenota ananas was not found on the reef slopes of Lys Island. Strong action is necessary to stop the illegal fisheries on Lys Island.Les îles Glorieuses (11° 35’ S, 47° 18’ E) sont situées dans le nord du canal du Mozambique et appartiennent aux îles Éparses qui sont isolées, éloignées des influences d’origine anthropique, et constituent des sites d’études remarquables pour les suivis de la biodiversité récifale. Le programme d’acquisition de connaissances dans le cadre de la gestion durable du patrimoine naturel marin des Glorieuses s’est déroulé du 27 septembre au 9 octobre 2015 et avait pour objectif d’estimer les abondances des espèces d’holothuries d’intérêt commercial observées et de compléter l’inventaire des Holothuridae réalisé lors des missions précédentes. Les holothuries sont actuellement surexploitées sur la plupart des récifs de l’Indo-Pacifique pour fournir les pays asiatiques en Bêche-de-mer et les pêcheries d’holothuries dans la zone du sud-ouest de l’océan Indien sont connues pour leur mauvaise gestion des stocks qui a déjà été soulignée dans plusieurs publications. L’échantillonnage a été réalisé sur 22 stations de pente externe, 3 stations de pente interne et 32 stations de platier. Les holothuries d’intérêt commercial sont représentées par 12 espèces aux Glorieuses dont 8 ont été observées lors de cette étude. Actinopyga miliaris a été inventoriée pour la première fois aux Glorieuses alors que Holothuria fuscogilva, espèce à forte valeur commerciale, n’a pas été revue depuis 2011. Les abondances des holothuries commerciales sont faibles aux Glorieuses en comparaison d’autres îles du sud-ouest de l’océan Indien comme Mayotte ou La Réunion. Bohadschia atra est l’espèce la plus abondante et la plus fréquemment observée, ce qui est également le cas sur des sites proches comme à Mayotte et sur le banc du Geyser. Les abondances de cette espèce atteignent une moyenne de 118 (± 60,6) individus par hectare sur les pentes internes. Les très faibles abondances en holothuries commerciales sur les platiers de l’île du Lys, site éloigné de la Grande Glorieuse et sans présence humaine, sont remarquables. Les abondances d’Holothuria nobilis (0,3 ind/ha ± 2,6) et Thelenota ananas (0 ind/ ha), espèces à forte valeur commerciale et classées dans la catégorie «en danger» sur la liste rouge de l’UICN, sont un indicateur d’un impact de la pêche illicite au niveau de cette zone des Glorieuses. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
