Autonomous Vision-based Landing and Terrain Mapping Using an MPC-controlled Unmanned Rotorcraft
In this paper, we present a vision-based terrain mapping and analysis system, and a model predictive control (MPC)-based flight control system, for autonomous landing of a helicopter-based unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in unknown terrain. The vision system is centered around Geyer et al.'s recursive multi-frame planar parallax algorithm (2006), which accurately estimates 3D structure using geo-referenced images from a single camera, as well as a modular and efficient mapping and terrain analysis module. The vision system determines the best trajectory to cover large areas of terrain or to perform closer inspection of potential landing sites, and the flight control system guides the vehicle through the requested flight pattern by tracking the reference trajectory as computed by a real-time MPC-based optimization. This trajectory layer, which uses a constrained system model, provides an abstraction between the vision system and the vehicle. Both vision and flight control results are given from flight tests with an electric UAV
Glycosylation of the envelope glycoprotein gp130 of simian immunodeficiency virus from sooty mangabey ( Cercocebus atys )
The envelope glycoprotein 130 (‘130’ referring to an Mr of 130,000) of simian immunodeficiency virus from sooty mangabey (Cercocebus atys) (SIVSM) was isolated from the cell-free supernatant of the SIVSM-infected human T-cell line H9, metabolically labelled with D-[6-3H]glucosamine. After digestion with Staphylococcus aureus V8 proteinase, radiolabelled N-glycans were liberated from resulting glycopeptides by sequential treatment with endo-beta-N-acetylglucosaminidase H and peptide:N-glycosidase F and fractionated by h.p.l.c. and gel filtration. Individual oligosaccharide species were characterized by enzymic microsequencing, chromatographic analyses and, in part, by acetolysis. The oligosaccharide structures thus established include oligomannosidic glycans with five to nine mannose residues as well as fucosylated and partially sialylated bi-, tri- and tetra-antennary N-acetyl-lactosaminic oligosaccharide species, the latter of which carry, in part, additional galactose residues or N-acetyl-lactosamine repeats. In comparison with the corresponding envelope glycoprotein 120 from human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1), propagated in the same cell line [Geyer, Holschbach, Hunsmann and Schneider (1988) J. Biol. Chem. 263, 11760-11767], carbohydrates of the simian glycoprotein were found to consist of decreased amounts of oligomannosidic glycans and increased quantities of higher-branched N-acetyl-lactosaminic species

Berabichia Geyer 1990
Genus Berabichia Geyer, 1990 TYPE SPECIES. — Berabichia vertumnia Geyer, 1990, from the Lemdad Formation (Cambrian Series 2, Sectigena Zone) in the Lemdad Syncline, High Atlas, Morocco, OD. REMARKS Berabichia was introduced by Geyer (1990) for three species from the Anti-Atlas and High Atlas of Morocco, i.e. B. vertumnia, the type species, B. stenometopa Geyer, 1990 and B. inopinata Geyer, 1990, and six additional morphotypes in open nomenclature. Berabichia inopinata, differing from most of the remaining Moroccan taxa included in Berabichia in a rather homogenous overall convexity of the cephalon (Geyer 1990), was subsequently transferred to the genus Epichalnipsus Geyer, Popp, Weidner & Förster, 2004 (Geyer et al. 2004). A suggestion was made (Jell & Adrain 2003: 348, 436) that Berabichia is a junior subjective synonym of Ptychoparopsis A 1.1 coefficient 1 allometric 0.9 B C D A1–B B 1.1 coefficient1 allometric 0.9 0.8 K1 K (J–K1)/2 L Hupé, 1953. However, as pointed out by Geyer (1990), Ptychoparopsis is an unrecognizable taxon. Thus, Berabichia and Ptychoparopsis cannot be synonymized because no direct equalization has ever been proposed (G. Geyer, pers. comm.). The Berabichia group includes also Chorbusulina wilkesi Palmer & Gatehouse, 1972 and Chorbusulina subdita Palmer & Gatehouse, 1972 from the Lower Cambrian of the Argentina Range, Antarctica; Proampyx rotundatus (Kiaer, 1917) from the Lower Cambrian of Sweden; and Berabichia erratica Geyer, Popp, Weidner & Förster, 2004 from Pleistocene erratic boulders collected in a gravel pit in northern Germany (Palmer & Gatehouse 1972; Geyer 1990; Palmer & Rowell 1995; Geyer et al. 2004).
