    <p>The dataset contains macrozoobenthos data collected during the MN248 Cruise, from 3 stations located in the Romanian Black Sea area, in 1-10 September 2023, in the framework H2020 DOORS Project.  The main goal of the cruise was to assess the sediment nutrients cycling capacity and the influence of faunal activity on benthic turnover rates of nutrient and oxygen through ex-situ sediment core incubation. The data acquisitions was focused on three main benthic habitats, as follows: coarse and mixed biogenic type of substrata suitable for thriving of mussel’s biogenic reefs and mud sediments under river plume influence. From each station, three replicates were collected with the Multicorer (the sampling size - 0.079 m2) and three with Van-Veen grab (the grasping area  -  0.125 m2). The sediment was preserved in buffered formalin 4% , then sieved through a 1 mm and 0.5 mm mesh sieve and subsequently stored in 70% ethanol. The database comprises taxonomic and quantitative data (density and wet weight biomass per square meter) for 69 macrozoobenthic species and 2 supraspecific groups.</p&gt

    <p>The dataset contains the taxonomic and quantitative analysis of meiobenthic samples (free-living nematodes and harpacticoida groups), collected within the DOORS Leg 1 cruise carried out within 1-10 September 2023 in the framework of Horizon 2020 Project ‘Developing Optimal and Open Research Support for the Black Sea’ (DOORS). The samples have been collected with a Multiple Corer Mark II device. 3 out of the 6 samples that contain in their ID the word "inc" represent the incubated cores (for fluxes experiments), while the other 3 the "control" samples collected in the same station. The latter were washed through a 63 µm mesh sieve on board and preserved in buffered formaldehyde 4% for further laboratory analysis (Giere, 2009)</p&gt

    The National Institute of Research and Developmentfor Marine Geology and Geoecology – GeoEcoMar was created in 1996 according to the Governmental Decision 1315/25.11.1996, by reorganizing the Romanian Centre for Marine Geology and Geo-ecology CRGGM (founded in 1993). Presently the National Institute of Marine Geology and Geoecology - GeoEcoMar is the Romanian pole of excellence for research in marine, coastal and fluvial geology, geophysics and geo-ecology, as well as an international reference centre for Marine and Earth Sciences in the Black Sea region. In the last twenty years, GeoEcoMar has experienced a continuous scientific and financial growth, both at national and international levels. Since 1996 an “institute of national interest” due to its technical potential and scientific performances, GeoEcoMar`s main objective is to perform complex and multidisciplinary researches of sea – delta – river macro-systems, having as key focus the Black Sea – Danube Delta – Danube River system

    Interested in geoconservation, interpretation and promotion of the geological heritage, since 2014 NRDI GeoEcoMar is partner in the Transylvanian Dinosaur Museum project, aiming to reconstruct the late Cretaceous dwarf dinosaur fauna and ecosystems of the Hațeg Island in the Tethys Sea. The three, life-size museum quality dinosaur reconstructions, done in Alberta, Canada by world famous paleoartist Brian Cooley, were supported by GeoEcoMar in various ways. The institute sponsored the sculpture of the feathered theropod Balaur bondoc, offered incentives for the Kickstarter project “A Transylvanian dwarf dinosaur needs a ride home” which funded the travel from Calgary through Antwerp to Hațeg of the sauropod titanosaur Magyarosaurus dacus, offered logistic support for the Magyarosaurus journey in Romania and for the releasing from customs of the ornithopod Zalmoxes robustus. The workshops for children and exhibitions prepared reflect the interest of GeoEcoMar in geoheritage promotion through educational and outreach activities

    GeoEcoMar activities dedicated to education and promotion of Earth Sciences

    ducation was an objective of NRDI GeoEcoMar since its foundation, in order to attract young students to research through organizing various scientific meetings, summer schools, coordinating Master and PhD theses, etc. As European Centre of Excellence for Environmental and Geoecological Studies on River – Delta – Sea Systems in Europe – EuroGeoEcoCentre, during 2003-2006 the institute organized summer schools in the Danube Delta in order to train students from Romania and European countries in the sedimentology of terrestrial and marine systems. Since 2013, annual programs of education and internship for undergraduate students are run by the National Center for Monitoring and Warning on Marine Natural Hazards – Black Sea Security System – in Constanţa. Activities for schools and the general public started in 2010, with public conferences, temporary and travelling exhibitions, as well as various events. Such activities increased between 2016-2017, when a project dedicated to education and promotion of earth sciences was run by the institute. The educational program included educational activities for various types of target audience, activities of popularization and promotion of geological and paleontological sites in two Romanian geoparks, promotion of results accomplished by GeoEcoMar in earth sciences, ecology, marine biology, etc. The educational program developed was structured as education in schools, internship for students and geological literacy of the general public. For education in primary and secondary schools, ten lesson plans on earth sciences were elaborated, with associated hands-on activities. A 5 days field trip in Dobrogea was organized for undergraduate students, while various activities and events were proposed for the general public: public conferences, geological field trips, the Day of Open Doors at GeoEcoMar, Earth Science Week, the School Differently and workshops for children. Geological education is a necessity in Romania, especially as earth sciences do not have an adequate public presence and geological literacy of people is rather low. As geology is no longer part of the school curricula for almost 20 years, except some basic concepts included in the geography programs, education and promotion of earth sciences has to continue, which implies the existence of adequate financial and human resources

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
